Talking of bootlegs - now that Prince has decided to work against the fans websites rather than with them can prince.org not now relax the rules as to where bootlegs can be found. That should really piss the Web Sheriff off.

Will be interesting to see what The Pirate Bay do with their take down notice. If they stay true to form, they will just take the piss out of the Web Sheriff and tell him to get stuffed.

Let the games begin.....

As much as we love Prince, as much as we would like to consider ourselves part of his success, we are not who "made" him. God (by whatever name) made him, gave him his talent, and introduced it to the world, and Prince has worked harder than anyone I've ever seen to perfect his craft. It's his work, his image, his life over which he wants control. Who of us does not want that to the extent we can get it?

I imagine that fine line between love and hate finally dissolved. I went to PFU today with great sadness, which soon turned to anger. Such hate from those who supposedly loved; not just hate for Prince, but racial and homophobic rage. Nothing good can come from this site. No one will win this battle. As of today, I believe we have all lost the acceptance, the love, the freedom, and the incredible togetherness we once shared from Prince's music. I hope all the ego trips are worth it.

I just want to be clear. Yes, the guy is talented, and it may be God-given, but I don't think I've ever seen [b:2ba6d31253]Prince go on record as saying God forked over one red cent to put him in the pop-star stratosphere[/b:2ba6d31253].[/quote:2ba6d31253]

No, but I'm pretty sure he's the first one he thanks in the liner notes.[/quote:2ba6d31253]

So does every 2 bit piece of shit gangsta-rapper. What's your point?

My point was that he went on record with thanks to Him, and believe that was before any two-bit piece of shit gangsta-rapper started doing it. From the beginning, Prince has thanked God. While he may not have specifically said "thank you God for forking over the money," but at least he gave thanks.

Thanking God just means that you don't have to give any credit to any actual people besides yourself for putting in the effort and money to get where you are, be it fans, record companies, or collaborators. And then you can treat them like shit, because they don't matter and didn't have anything to do with your success. We've seen this for years with Prince.

That is what the essence of this conflict is about.
Do we allow any central figure or organisation to control how, where and when we use products we payed for, and how, where and when we discuss them.
The NPGMC store is a great example of how the current legal system and technology can be abused if all the power is held by a central figure. Noone's NPGMC files work anymore simply because Prince was able to pull the plug on them.

I thank God everyday for the things I have, and I don't give credit to any people or MYSELF for what I have. I can't explain it. It's a way of life. My employer nor my family nor any acquaintenance is responsible for the blessings in my life - God is. I take Prince's thankfulness in the same way I give mine; as honest and genuine.

You know! I'd forgotten about those files. They're still sitting useless on my hard drive. Hmmm...perhaps a class action law suit against his behind would teach Prince about being so damn sue happy!

Oh please. IF there weren't people there to acknowledge his god given gift and give him MONEY for it, he wouldn't be where he is god or no god.

and where are you seeing comments on the PFU site? I haven't seen anything other than the front page to send them a message.

I've got no problem with anyone thanking God for a blessed life and success. But God alone isn't responsible for it, and He sure as hell doesn't do the grunt work.

Okay, its impossible to argue with a personal religious philosophy. But let me say that there are alot of talented and blessed people out there whose work or skill will never see the light of day because no one knows about and supports them.
I know i wouldn't be worth shit without God, but also my mom and dad, all my friends, and my own hard work. Thats a network of support that i need.

I'll only speak for myself, but any hateful things that I say are strictly in reaction to Prince's control-freak desire to stifle any criticism. Don't get me wrong, I still love (most of) the man's music. But I've hated him as a human being for 10 years now, since he pulled this same shit to a lesser degree the first time around.

I will say anything critical that I want to about Prince. He will not stop me. And if what I say is hateful and ugly, that's calculated to spite him.

Ok, this is why people got so annoyed over at NPGMC because of this BLIND ATTITUDE. Prince would have no money IF WE DIDN'T GIVE IT TO HIM! Damn! lol That is such an easy concept to follow.

I totally understand and support your right to be mad at him. Those kind of comments, while I personally don't like them, are not the kind of comments I am talking about. I'm talking about racial, homophobic slurs to the extent that they are poison. I know this is not why that sight was created.

I'm not saying not to say anything you want: you never shy away from stuff and you stand behind what you say but ta lot of these folks calling him names, saying shit they wouldn't dare say to his face is a punk assed move.

And all the racial shit: disbelief

i can't hate Prince. I cannot hate someone I don't know who's never done anything to me personally.
