i don't believe they can legally limit our discussions of prince, nor force us to modify the content of what is posted here regarding prince. prince is a public figure and his rights to privacy are, for good and bad, not the same as that of a private citizen.

that being said, they could make life difficult for ben through bullying and other time-wasting tactics. no one wants ben to suffer, since he sponsors this website out of generosity and in his free time.

This is so sad. I was just about to get my "symbol" tattoo. I don't know now. In a way I can understand Prince. If you look at the history of popular music, so many artists have been cheated, lied to and totally lost control of their art. Someone else makes the big bucks and beloved artists end up starving artists. Prince wants to make sure he keeps control. Some of us innocent by standers get hit in this legal drive by shooting.

I think the turn of Events which has happened since the NPGMC has closed really has us all wondering what in the world is going on. I will say this im not surprised that eventually he would shut down ALL community fan sites. This was just a matter of time, now the only act we can do and better said than done is not support 3121.com don't click DO NOT VISIT.I really wished that Prince or his legal team would give us some insight as to why the actions are being taken in such an abrupt manner.


now on looking at Prince's side of things, because you have to see both sides
there a difference between FREE SPEECH and sometimes seeing threads which are hateful , and even slanderous! now this isn't every poster as a whole however
it can be just cause to make legal moves.


just my humble opionion I have been a member here for 5 1/2 years a member of Housequake enjoying both sites it would be shame for everything to end unless the reigns are tightened on what is free speech and what will get one in trouble

That's the part that's tripping me out. I could care less about the pictures and videos being removed but how the hell are you going to keep people from discussing you. Is it maybe because we are discussing on a site that bears his name "prince.org". If that's the case, simply change the name of the site and continue discussing him. Is the name "asshole.org" taken already?

Anyway, even if this site did shut down, people could always discuss him in a chatroom that isn't related to him or a general music forum that isn't related to him. In any general music forum, his name is eventually going to come up because he is a musician. I just don't see how he thinks he's going to stop free speech. As I said before, I could care less about the pictures and videos being removed. Those are his but speech belongs to us and that's taking it too damn far.

I SUPPORT THIS 1000%. Being a fan of a artist should not be as difficult as Prince has made it. For me it isn't simply the latest stuff that has been happening, it is a number of things over the years, and I've had enough of his ridiculous and at times unreasonable antics. I have gotten too old to continue to get screwed then soothed over by a live performance of "Take Me With You" or a new photo of him.

I am prepared to do whatever.

I fully understand Prince's desire to want to control his "art" (music) and support that as long as he has the legal right to do so. What has been going on for some time, as least from what I can gather from reading here, HQ, etc. is that NPG are demanding things that they do not legally have the right to do. (e.g. bullying and censorship). I do not support Prince in that regard.


It's a sad thing all around, but I am glad that HQ, the Org & Princefams are united in this. Hopefully there will be strength in numbers.

This is really sad. Prince has no idea that by doing this he is making people not ever want to discuss his Purple ass again. I'm truly disappointed-I've loved this man's music since I was 9 years old. Now I'm like in that he could treat the people who have supported him like this. Prince you need to get a reality check my brotha!!! It can all just be taken away just like that.

All I can say is WOW!!! First I hope and pray that Prince really do reconsider what he is asking of these websites and think about his fans. There are only a handful of so called fans that are trying to gain income from his likeness. The websites are simply there for us fans to communicate with other fans across the world about such a genius as himself. To discuss his music and share pictures that they have been released over his career.

I definitely don't agree with trying to tell someone that they can't post a drawing that they took their time in creating because of the love they have for him. That is totally wrong.

I just don't understand why he can't see that it is nothing more than the people who have been with him from the start that want to make sure his music is being heard by all. And that we stay informed in any news that may occur.

It really looks like the day and age that the Prince famz/fans come 2gether and have to protest someone whom we love dearly and have supported all of these years.

To me this is a sad sad day for the Prince fans community, that it is resulting to this.
