To claim that they didn't know this would happen is utter BS. Fact - They held onto original CC information even though many changed it Fact - Even we saw this coming...how could they not Fact - The website is DOWN DOWN DOWN. Someone somewhere did that. Fact - They have not responded to any member requesting that their membership NOT be renewed. Fact - There is NOWHERE on the site to cancel your membership. It is as if it was designed so you couldn't cancel. Fact - They have KNOWN that the fans have NOT been happy with the site and have even circumvented the site with content that eventually ended up on the site. They MUST be aware of the complaints and that many would NOT be signing up for year 2. And now they are going to send a notice to post here? LAME LAME LAME! A simple apology is not going to suffice. I doubt they will get anywhere with refunding peeps money...they couldn't even get the dang shirts out correctly. Again..the site is down, how can any of this be a mistake? all year people kept saying that we should wait before criticizing because afterall, Prince could put new material any day now. A year is up and the site sucked. Fams, please come out and admit you were wrong. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

So I'm finding it strange that people are getting so upset when the very thing that they agreed to is happening on schedule. Feel free to correct me by posting the original terms, because I am getting old and might not remember things so well. If I change my CC information, it does not give them the right to use my previous CC information. That's what pisses me off more than anything.

I joined last year on 29/3/09(I'm from England)and yes, I sent the required cancellation notice to the support(cough cough)email address. After seeing this thread today I phoned Visa(with whom I paid for the subscription with) to be told that I could do nothing to prevent the renewal being taken(its not due until 29 but still) as they were unable to stop a payment unless instructed to by the company seeking the money!! Calmly(well alright not very calm) I reiterated that I have already cancelled my renewal but that has not stoppped it being taken from many others accounts. Oh so helpful, Visa said the only thing I can do is dispute it if and when it happens and they will try to reclaim the fees. If that happens they'll take exchange fees and I'll lose more money. Fantastic way of doing business, surely a model of customer services.

Don't know what you are talking about. 5 years? regardless they could have mentioned a million years renewal, if you send a mail to cancel and change your CC details they are stealing your cash. They have no authorization to do so. Can't wait to read this letter from Prince. Will he mention the lack of customer support? The people who didn't get the t-shirts? The general lies about what Lotu$flower was supposed to be or just an excuse why he is steal money from his fans again? You can be sure of one thing it will end with a promise of "something exciting coming soon" TWAT, he seems to think his fanbase are all morons. "My God it's full of Stars"

I was charged today. After requesting to cancel my account several months ago and changing my credit card info. I have contacted my bank to cancel the charge but we will see how that goes.

Here you go: 1.4 - LOTUSFLOW3ER.COM MEMBERSHIPS
Lotusflow3r memberships are valid for one calendar year from date of purchase, and are non-refundable. Membership includes access to restricted areas of Lotusflow3r, access to pre-sale concert tickets, and the ability to download music and videos from Lotusflow3r. Membership does not include the download rights to certain Premium material, which is available to purchase on a per-item basis. Automatic renewal is available for Lotusflow3r memberships. If automatic renewal is selected at purchase your credit card will be billed on an annual basis, unless you cancel automatic renewal prior to the renewal date by emailing sales@Lotusflow3r. Nothing there about 5 years. What IS there is how to cancel the auto-renew, which turned out to be a lie. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

this is starting to remind me of the X-Files episode "ghost in the machine"
where the C.O.S. comes conscious and starts to go mental. they've pulled the plug on Lotusflow3r but the site refuses to die, instead it's billing people for another year. perhaps the system is now in prince's vault, erasing tape after tape and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

co-sign ... I wonder how much involvement P has/had in "any" of the sites. Does it matter? He should take responsibility for some of this. It's his site, his image, his fans. As an artist, you owe it to the fans to make sure they are not getting duped. The issues with his site issues are long standing. The fact that the site has no customer service would have been an issue I would have fixed a LONG time ago. It's not like Prince is busy with a tour and such that he's been SO busy he couldn't possibly notice. His duochery is nothing new and I am sure he could care less about this...just as long as it doesn't get him into legal trouble. Changing the info on the site meant nothing because the cards weren't being charged when you changed them so that information never went to the merchant account processor. Now, whoever is in charge of the site could and I'm sure did notice people changing their cc info. and should have advised the merchant account processor but didn't. Why they didn't...is the $77.00 question! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

IF it were me, and this is just me, I'm not saying in any way that this is even a possibility, I would say "sorry" with a 10 cut album of the most requested songs in the vault.
It costs nothing and the negative feelings would disappear immediately. Not a snowball's chance in hell of that happening, but it would work. I bet some of even the most jaded fans would gladly tell him to keep the $77 for that. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. Now see, I am not making any personal attacks with members of the org or Prince like it seems 85% of the members do. Anywho, being a fan as long as I have been, I do not look at life or P thru rose colored glasses to use that term, loosely. We all know and understand that it "appears" that the site is not working so I/we cannot even check our payment or credit card info entered (as I said previously). I am feeling certain that this issue of the charges and such will be taken care of for all of us. If anything we can all go to our financial institutions and request so said charges be reversed. Why don't you all leave him alone. $144 is not much to see some videos that were made in the 80s and download a song that is available all over the net to download for free. The fact that the site has faded to black is also no big deal (well there is still an orb there), it's isn't like he's suddenly just stepped away from a website before with no announcement and left the screen black. And as for t-shirts, they were only for founding members. If you haven't found the content then you ar not a founding member, just a member. Got my mojo working...it just don't work on you!

uhm, no. if you'd bothered to read the original thread survey for members who had not received their shirts, you'd have seen that 90% of the people who have NOT received a tshirt are in fact people that signed up on the very first day the website went live. myself included. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Is this the worse thing he's done/been affiliated with? I mean this is just straight up BS. You could argue that the original fee was justified because there wasn't any promises and you did get 3 albums and a shirt (well, some people did), but getting charged again after emailing sales/support is just a no-no.
