If you previously informed LotusFlow$r via email or letter that you do not wish to renew (and I know plenty of us did) there is a period of one day where they would still be able to make charges. After that, if they then make charges to your credit card then they are considered fraudulent and you should notify the relevant authorities. It does not matter whether or not LF respond to or acknowledge receipt of your instruction - if you can prove you sent it, that's enough.

All the above information is from my credit card company, and I'm not sure they're right - how the hell are they supposed to tackle fraud if they can't block transactions.

Not for me it isn't. If there is a charge on my account I did not approve I would have my bank reverse the charges. I did that when Entertainment Weekly charged my account for a renewal magazine subscription and I closed that bank account with that bank all together.

Just spoke with bank, there is a $77 Charge in "pending" status, I can't dispute it until it has posted ($ in Lotusflow3r's bank account). What a headache! I even tried to alter the CC info on the site yesterday, and it kept reverting back to what i had originally put in, there was no way to clear out the info, or opt out of the membership. For $77 and the headache I oughtta have front row seats to a small gig where I make up the setlist, because watching "Creep" for the umpteenth time aint worth no 77 bones.

with a credit or debit card, the card details and amount are presented with a request for the funds. the account has no details of the companies making debits, and credit the money to the company as long as sufficient funds or credit is available

it sounds to me that they automated the process of debiting the credit cards, but how they did this with card numbers no longer held on the members accounts means that there was a major flaw in the system, as obviously this should not have happened. it sounds like they kept a database of card numbers that was not updated correctly, which is essentially negligence
