I find it hard to believe that they'll be able to process 2000 tickets with all the rigmarole required in a mere six-and-a-half hours - that works out at five a minute when one every five minutes would be closer to the mark - and that's assuming everyone turns up at noon.
It will be even worse in practice, when half the audience turns up with only an hour left to curtain time.
Not to mention the people who have booked both shows on the same night. Then pandemonium when the cd's get handed out. Maybe Prince will help
I'm sure it would help, when there were about 1000 people in the foyer waiting to get their tickets, wristbands and tattoos around 6.25 pm, if suddenly Prince danced through the crowd singing "Black and white, red and green, the funkiest thing U ever seen" etc.
Well, it couldn't hurt. |

Um I'm pretty sure that's exactly how it's going to be as that's the only way tickets cannot be transferred or resold
Just called State Theatre Melbourne seeking some clarity regarding ticket collection and wrist banding procedures. Have been told that the ticket purchaser AND guest must collect tickets together at box office, where both will also be wristbanded. Was also sternly reminded that if the wristband is damaged in any way it will not be replaced, nor will admission to the performance occur.
DAMN. Crazy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When we saw him in 2002 in London at Apollo, all of us NPGMC members were in there for the soundcheck and I remember there was a mixup between two members with their seats, and someone asked for some help to sort it out. Next thing you know, Prince himself walked through the crowd and came up to us and said, 'Hi ya'll, what seems to be the problem?' He was wearing his hat and was dressed to the nines. Of course we all completely forgot what we were talking about and stood there with our mouths open. I remember he said 'Well I don't know about you, but I have the best seat in the house!' - he was lovely and chatted with us, asked where we were from and mingled for a while, and we laughed and readied ourselves for the soundcheck! So it's not beyond the realms of possibility for Prince to help out with the CDs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Despite the line that Auckland sold out within minutes, at no point since Thursday have I not been able to see tickets on Ticketmaster. It's only been singles for the late show but now there's singles for both shows including a row D for the late show and a bunch of options to buy pairs for the late show. I'd love to attend a lecture on how ticket sales work. It's mind boggling. I'm also sick of seeing people moan on FB that they missed out and claiming how they are in tears when there's still tickets and they just haven't had the nous to keep trying. They are all crying and stuff because they could not get the cheap tickets and think $400 is a lot of to see a guy who they think have only done Purple Rain.
I picked up a pair of $200 tickets today for Auckland 10pm. I tried everyday since the minute they came out. I had plenty of chances to get $400 tickets but the $200 tickets always showed as unavailable/sold out....til today!?
Out of curiousity, where are those seats. When row Y circle (the back of the mid level) is coming up at $400. Hope you're not seated across the road in Pizza Pizza. If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it! |

If so the $100 seats must be at the Subterranean Burger King on the Force or with the homeless outside. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name |

I wonder which route he was flying from the US to Melbourne. That private jet has a range of 7,815km, so he would have to stop in Hawaii and Brisbane/Auckland/Fiji. |

Qantas first class is definitely better than United or AA first class, but neither of them have closed suites. I don't think any other airline flies nonstop first class from US to Australia. If I were him I would have picked Qantas out of the three. |

But Quantas has 15 seats in First and the others only have 8. So if he wants to buy up the whole cabin to have privacy and doesn't have to share it with some upgraded business class passengers, then AA would be much cheaper than Qantas |

I don't think it will be that bad. Remember, most of the people who have to pick up tickets will have bought two tickets (one for themselves and one for a partner who doesn't need to check in), meaning that there are only ~1,300 people that need to be processed. How long does it take to process each person? For most it will be 30 seconds - "Name? Show me your ID. Cool. Here are your tickets. Enjoy the show" - that will be the case for 90% of the 1,300. No doubt they will also have multiple ticket collection booths. It won't take that long. But yeah, advice saying to get there early in case there are any issues is always good advice!
.

Bit of a PITA that the guest needs to be there for ticket collection. I work in town and was hoping to collect the tickets/bands at lunch time.
Does anybody know whether HitNRun Phase Two has been generally released on CD? If not, it could be worth keeping the CDs unopened. I wish I'd done that with Rave In2, which is worth a ton now.. (my copy is well used). Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop. |

Yeah, I've only been in the industry for 12 years mate.
To be fair, they have improved a lot over the last two or three years though. The A380s are nice but the crew have always had a very bad reputation.
