Aftershow
The critical thing is the venue in Sydney for the aftershow.

Can we assume it will be after the last show in Sydney -Sunday 21 February?

The late 10pm show slot plus the Sydney rules about lockout at 1:30 am means the venue needs to be within a short distance of the Sydney State Theatre.

Best candidates would be:
-The Metro ( my preference)
-The Basement ( which he used in 2003 & went well)
-the ivy ( top floor -used in 2012 - DISASTER)

In 2012 I "followed" the ivy anticipation prince would have aftershow there & was able to buy tix as soon as it was announced -& that was how I learnt of it. (I also followed the DJ on tour with prince but her announcement came thru well AFTER the one from the Ivy. So all tix were bought by Ivy regulars).

When I got there it was the usual Ivy crowd who had bought tix expecting Prince to play his top 10 hits. They had not attended any prince arena concerts.
THEY WERE NOT REAL PRINCE FANS. THE REAL PRINCE FANS WERE OUTSIDE UNABLE TO GET IN.
The stage inside was very low, so the people at the front were turning their backs on Prince in order to take selfies with Prince in the background.

If prince chooses The Ivy then they need an extra rule -that the person also has tix to the Syd opera house or state theatre gig. Otherwise he'll be stuck amongst obnoxious snobs who treat Him disrespectfully. (By the way Prince almost left that aftershow gig earlier in the evening -he had already realised the weird vibe in there & the merivale guy had to spend 20 mins convincing Prince to stay & go on. He did go on but only did a few songs & left asap. Disaster for a true fan.)

What should have been a fun & incredible night was spoiled. (Then I saw images from the Brisbane aftershow where Prince was smiling & I almost died.)

If tix to the aftershow are announced at Twitter prince3eg then that will help ensure it is only real fans.

(Ie if they want to use the Ivy top level then don't let Ivy tell their clients until 2am Monday 22 feb)

i am a die-hard and really enjoyed the ivy aftershow, despite the non-diehards hogging the floor. our mob managed to get right up to the stage and danced within touching distance of the man and band. the brisbane aftershow was better tho'

Loved the Brisbane aftershow, however there were a lot of people around me, just standing, ooking bored, and filming on their phones. Blergh. Any news about the Melbourne aftershow? Bennett's Lane have just updated their FB cover to feature a photograph of Prince, but I understand that nothing has been confirmed yet.

Anyone with tickets in Stalls AA-EE : You will be sitting on top of the orchetra pit shown in these photos

Were seats AA-EE actually sold? I bought an Ultimate Package (1st five rows) and my ticket is just "A". AA-EE are optional seats when an orchestra isn't playing.

might have got lucky because was only looking to buy 1 ticket. but for the 10pm Wednesday Night show, i managed to get row AA between 20-24 so pretty much dead centre. These were the standard tickets and not the VIP package. Have just checked ticketmaster account and all emails and seat allocatiion is still the same.

Today received confirmation of what is needed in order to pickup the tickets(see below)

It would make more sense to give people their cd when they receive their ticket & bracelet. (IE BEFORE the concert at the time they collect their tix.)
Then can be certain everyone gets their cd ( rather than people trying to get multiple copies & others missing out. )

(Having to join another queue while trying to leave the building & rush to next gig or the after show doesn't sound like a good idea. )

DJ Rashida tweeted us - and got our names on the door.

I agree that, generally, the place was full of tossers, but it was my first AfterShow experience and I had a great time.

We need to track down the AfterShow this time. I was thinking somewhere just outside the LockOut area. The Marquee?

and WHO is he travelling with? He must have an entourage with him??

Glad you got a great ticket. I actually ended up with a better seat than the one I originally had. Another heads up. I passed through the Smorgon Plaza this afternoon where people were collecting their tickets. (More security and staff than ticket collectors.) Two people both with wrist bands were around the corner. One guy was trying to get the wristband off the other - very, very difficult and making a mess of it. Perhaps a "resale" that may not turn out so well.

[Edited 2/15/16 21:45pm] From memory, the Brisbane Hi Fi one was announced on some local radio stations while the main concert was still ongoing. They may have got wind of it from Twitter. The Eatons Hill gig was announced by a compere onstage after Prince had left the main concert. It had already been mentioned on Twitter and some main concert goers had already arrived at Eatons Hill by the time it was announced. I was lucky enough to get to both without leaving the main concert early.Has anyone got any feedback on the ticket process yet?? The first show starts in an hour! Is there pandemonium on the streets of Melbourne or is it all going quite smoothly???

Show 1 done - 90 mins give or take and essentially a long tribute to Vanity. Prince was very emotional at times (there were tears) and he busted out some deep cuts including a pretty much uncensored version of I Love U in me.

Not good at set lists but I almost lost it when he started the refrain from Automatic. Sadly that didn't get a full outing - no singing.

Highlight was his voice throughout. Insanely good.
