Incidentally, there are still sensational seats available in Melbourne.

Every evening since my successful midday purchase I check out what's available out of curiosity; just now, at the 6.30 17th show, a single in the middle of row K stalls came up; I'd have leapt on that for aud$397.00 if I'd been going alone.

The "best available" yesterday was in the balcony; this is baloney and they're gaming us from one day to the next.

Does anyone have the ACCC's phone number?

^^ EVERYONE will be bringing phones anyway to contact one another outside the venue so i'd interpret the rule as meaning just no phone use once inside the concert hall, similar to the welcome 2 australia tour if you were there

Yes I thought that too, but when I rang the Opera House today she said to leave it at home if in doubt. But I dont want to walk back to a motel without somethign that is for sure.

I did go to both the Brisbane W2A concerts, interestingly the first one everyone had phones out and Price was so mad, but the second one the security were more than vigilant even before the show telling people to put them away.

Anyway, I understand why - I want to live the experience with my ears and eyes on him, not the phone.

Just a question from those that purchased via Ticketek on-line. When you got your purchase confirmation email from them did you notice it says "a corresponding receipt will be issued" but yet there is a reciept on the bottom - Sounds confusing they way they word it, like another reciept is to arrive?

Hi fellow members,

I've never been to a Prince Aftershow (or any Aftershow before).

I don't know how fans gain access to these shows. Apart from the promoters (Dainty Group) Facebook/Twitter etc and Prince's Twitter how do people find out about it? Will other members be posting their knowledge of any Aftershows right here? I'm only interested in any possible Sydney aftershows. Having said that if I hear any breaking aftershow news about Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland I will post here. Assuming others haven't already done so.

To meet demand, Princeโ€™s two Opera House shows on Saturday, 20th February are being opened up into 360-degree experiences, with new seats behind the Concert Hall stage going on sale at 12pm today.

Love his music (but hope he keeps the medleys to a minimum).

Prince has commented on the disparity in law where one couldn't do a "cover" of a hit TV show, but anyone can "cover" his music.

I agree with the intention of having respect for the artist and the actual song.

I'm also happy for Prince to reinterpret his own music and perform songs in a different style from the original (like a reggae version of "I would die 4 U").

So while I can understand the thrill Prince receives of doing a "medley" of his greatest tunes, from the massive, succeessive waves of screams and applause with each tune he meanders into...I have to say that for me it is a bit like watching children gorge themselves on candy on Halloween - but because I'm a mature adult, it's easy for me to instead choose a nice piece of chocolate cake or quality bowl of ice cream.

I truly hope that 90% of Prince's performance time is taken with Prince performing complete songs. Each song is a emotional journey of it's own and the Power PRINCE demonstrates by manipulating us all to take this emotional joureny is far more powerful than the repeated sugar rush of samples of his music.

The reaction of the audience to each familiar tune is both a "THANK YOU for creating this song" and a "PLEASE PLEASE play this incredible song (in its entirety)".

And so I say again how much I hope Prince will play most songs in their entirety.

I also understand there are some lyrics he is no longer comfortable singing. He could easily just not sing those lines (let the audience fill them in), or change the lyrics (Eg I met her in a hotel lobby masticating a nectarine).

I had to say something. How else can I demostrate my love and dedication to the originator of this incredible music and the actual songs themselves.

Wishing with all my might. (Eyes closed & fingers on both hands crossed).

(I will be attending 2 concerts in Sydney - purely because he has so many songs and I hope to experience as many of his songs in this format as possible.)

Finally managed to get into 3 od the shows in Sydney. Cheap seats for 630 State Theatre, and standing room for both Opera House Shows. The standing room area is excellent....not like I haven't stood for most Prince concerts over the years.....

God, I hope this line happens.

He's a funny guy. He may've been swapping out lyrics for years and only those in his close circle would know (private jokes).

Given his inventiveness know no bounds I'm sure he could floor us with all sorts of tweaks.

(Perhaps I spent too much time as a child enjoying Sesame St reinventing the most popular music of the day with child-friendly lyrics. eg Sesame Street: The Spy Who Loved Cookies (007 Parody) )

They are behind Platform Box D and X and look straight down onto the stage. They were $220

All gone now I think.

I assume that this is the Tiger flight that I will be arriving on, but I'll probably need to go to accommodation first, which may be close to the airport. Are you flying out on the Tiger flight the next morning?

So we aren't being offered the opportunity to upgrade our seats to these, even though we got in first? Sounds fair.

I am wondering if he will have any stamina left to play aftershows, I mean 2 shows in one night and then an after show and he is 57, that would wreck anyone. Maybe back in the Parade/Lovesexy days when he was like 30, but it's different now. Plus what about us fans, most of us fleeced already of $800 or so, are we gonna to want to fork out more.

.

I know its Piano and Microphone, but I am hoping a guitar (Even acoustic) will come out too, and like you guys, I prefer full length songs and will be annoyed if he plays the same show for both performances in the night. Hoping the 6.30pm one is more hits for general fans and 10pm for the hardcore and the rarer shit like Power Fantastic and Purple Music comes out! Please no Sampler sets, oh lawd!

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

At $400 a ticket in 2000 seat venues, it is only hardcore people going. You only have to see what he did previously to get an idea of what he'll be doing at these shows. And I imagine it will be the same setlist for all performances, maybe with just a few songs swapped here and there. I think your expectations are a tad high.

Set list suggests mostly different songs from one gig to the next on Jan 21 &23 2016.
(it was the list of 30 tracks that got me worried that entire songs would not be played (because I love hearing the whole song instead of a medley). )

Great Perth gets a look in. Yay. But I would be angry if I was from Perth and just shelled out big dollars for Sydney or Melbourne as they were marketed as the only shows eek but I am happy more will get to see him live. Maybe he will do Brusbane too smile
