Hi!

Please give me a hint if you "see" some tickets. I am ready to fly from Norway...just need tickets to be sure! Send me an email: vegar.aabo@yahoo.no

Thanks! biggrin

There wont be any tickets if they havent been announced to be selling any by now, you would need to take the chance and get in the queue early and be prepared to be there for hours in the cold, massive risk coming from Norway but should be ok if your early? Try tweeting Kiran Sharma she might be able to sort you out if shes in a good mood and knows how far your travelling lol if you dont ask you dont get

POLITE REQUEST: Please DO NOT go to Manchester if you've been to any of the London gigs. Its our turn. Thanks.

If you have queued up outside the venue all day, you have earned the right to go in, where ever you are from.

I drove from Manchester for 3.5 hours as soon as Shepherds Bush O2 was announced and queued for 5 hours to get in.

I don't think many 'casual fans' who liked Purple rain will queue outside a venue for 6+ hours and pay £70 to attend, and if they do, they deserve to attend.

I think it will be, hopefully a couple of Gigs in the build up maybe Thursday? In a smaller venue couple hours notice form for £10? (One can hope) From posts I've saw on twitter people have booked flights to come over for weekend to try and get in so will be a few people out of pocket and not best pleased if he does different days lol

So what is everyone's plan of action? I know most will be in town early doors, but when justifys going getting in line? Do you go when there is only a few in line and wait longer, or give it an hour or two and go when there might be 500 in line with still the (hopeful) gaurentee of getting in the first show?

I just dont know what to do, its a bit of a dilema lol

Alot i've spoken to who are sharing the MEN article saying they will be going on Facebook are all expecting some sort of Greatest hits show, because people are not in the know of what he plays nowadays, there will be alot of people who will turn up and queue and just expect to hear Rasberry beret, 1999, Kiss, When doves cry, Purple rain and so on in full...

I will be around early doors just to make sure I can get to the venue in time. As for the strategy, it's a bit of a pain because unless you know how many shows they'll be it's hard to gauge. Seems like those who get in early and a second show announced sometimes get a worse deal as the second show goes on longer and you cannnot guarantee that you'll get to see both. Once we know the venue and size we'll have a better clue of strategy me thinks.

Same, I'm only 26 so havent been following him aslong as most on here probably about 10-12 years, but i have all his albums, all loaded on my iPod and I just hit shuffle on the whole playlist, Can gaurentee there will always be a track or two i've not heard and think to myself i'd love him to play this. I love hearing something i've not heard before, as much as I love the hits i'd much prefer a set of tracks im not expecting and it blow me away. My friends annoy me because where music is involved they are so close minded which isnt a bad thing, they like what they like, I'm just totally different biggrin

Has anyone got any idea what they think the ticket prices are going to be like?

If its at the Albert Hall its kind of a big venue so I cant see him charging tooo much for it?

I'm just kind of wary about carrying a lot of money about on me.

yeah, as much as i dont mind being in the queue early I'd rather join it a little later when there is still the opertunity to make it in the first show, but as you say the 2nd seems to be where its at. If it's £70 entry I think i'd only make the one show due to funds if less its a bonus and i will aim to try and get in the 2nd show (Or even find a hiding place ha) or go down on the saturday later on with the aim of getting in a 2nd show.

It's pretty hard to judge whether someone is a 'true' fan or a 'casual' fan without giving them some lengthy Prince quiz. If they're in the queue and willing to pay the money, they have every right to go to the show.

However, I think it is a fair request to ask that Londoners who have already seen one or more of these shows stay away. There are enough fans in Manchester to fill whatever venue he picks. It wouldn't be fair for a Manchester fan to miss out on a Manchester show because of some Londoners who've already seen him. He isn't coming up to Manchester to play for more Londoners.. he hasn't been up north for 12 years, let us have a go now.

I agree, its the north's turn for the slice of the purple pie! I'm so glad he's decided to do this, London isnt very central and therefore hard for people to get to. Manchester is way more central so its a good location.

As for him not playing here for 12 years, my auntie saw him in the 90s, she said he arived in a helicopter haha! I dont think he'll be doing that on Friday though hehe

That doesn't even make any sense. Just because some people have comittments and can't queue for 9 hours on a weekday doesn't mean they aren't dedicated.

If I found out I missed out on my one chance to see Prince to someone who's already seen him 4 times in the past 2 weeks, then yes, I'd be a bit pissed off.

So would I, but its common courtesy isn't it? And, "Jumping on the bandwagon" - who said anything about that? We don't want that either. All I'm saying is that there are true fans who still couldn't go to London for whatever reason who now might be able to see him. From say Newcastle or Glasgow. Of course people will have travelled before the Manc date was announced!

Wasnt a dig at you lol just saying id rather people who have followed him travel from where ever they need to get in even if it is london and they have already been to a show over alot of the people I have spoken to who want to go because they liked "purple rain" once or know a couple of tracks that he probabaly wont even do, If i miss out on getting in id rather it be to other fans or people off the Org than just someone who thinks they will go for the sake of it smile

No, but you can't try and ring fence a gig just because it gives you a better chance of getting in.

.

The London gigs were full of people from all over the UK. I met people from Wales, Scotland and various UK regions, from abroad too.

.

Many Londoners (I don't live in London) could well argue they missed out on tickets because the rest of the UK filled the spaces.

Hardcore fans follow artists wherever they go.

If he does his usual thing of two shows a night, is it posible for me to get into both shows? I'm planning on getting to the venue around 9am if he announces the day before, or within 10 minutes of the Friday announcment as I live right in the centre of Manchester. However, it seems that the second show is usually where it's at, so how would I go about attending both? Hide in the venue after the first show?

I got two sides... and they're both friends.
