Yeah will do, probabaly be knocking about on my todd anyway haha, looking like non of my mates want to part with the cash or queue for hours.

my train gets in about 10.30am , so i will be knocking about sum were like a headless chicken lol

I'm on the 06.10 out of newcastle. Expect to get there around 9.30. I've registered on twitter a few times but can't seem to get into it (?) so I am relying on the org. I too, am coming along on my own, so would appreciate meeting with other orgers to suss out the situation on the day?

Hi all. Very excited to hear about Prince returning to Manchester. I have heard many casual fans getting caught up in the buzz. A girl at work has booked the day off work to queue for tickets and she isn't 'a fan' (at her own admission). I suspect it will be very difficult to obtain a ticket - the fever is very high in manchester.

to those who have attended shows in London... what time are gigs usually announced?
You'll never know a girl called Nikki and you'll never find Erotic City

It seems odd that the venue wasn't announced along with the other shows they announced the other night.. I presume that means that they hadn't actually confirmed a venue at that point.. in which case, why announce it at all? Confusing! lol

I guess it was to give fans a chance to travel, must have taken some shit off people on twitter for only doing london, probabaly gave in to demand, if he'd have just rocked up in manchester and said he was doing a show that night people in scotland would have complained haha hard to keep everyone happy but Manchester is pretty central for anyone to get to with enough notice makes sense really. just hope they have chosen a venue large enough for demand as a few will have travelled this time, seen people on twitter flying from as far as Germany

That's true. Again though, you'd think they'd have a venue sorted, seeing as they'd picked the dates. Why wouldn't they announce the venue like they announced Koko and Ronnie Scotts? Unless they had a few places in mind, I suppose.

I hate all this not knowing lol

Yeah, I think thats pissing a lot of people off on the org (including me), people who normally wouldnt really be all that into Prince just going for the heck of it.

Makes me quite sad because people who are genuinely harcore longtime fans might not even get a ticket.

I think there will be a venue sorted either that or a couple in mind based on demand? Or maybe just didnt want the venue being harrassed for over a week or something by phone and email? Ronnies complained about everyone calling etc... It is bad though, its like an emotional rollercoaster being a prince fan... He's doing a UK tour "Yesss" Oh wait Its only in London... "Nooo".... He's coming to Manchester.... "fuck gotta find out where its at".... Its honesly like being an addict, I've spent the past few week glued to this site and twitter, I've never even used twitter before all this. At the start I thought Kiran didnt have a clue what she was doing, but now im thinking shes an Evil Genius, I honestly couldnt think of a better way of getting everyone talking about what the vast majority of the public think of as a "has been" or people who say he hasnt done anything for years not realising he is always doing a gig somewhere or another and probabaly released 10 albums since the last time they heard anything by him.

I honestly wouldnt worry about not getting into a show, there hasnt been many people who havent got into one yet, He seems to be playing to the demand, think positive lol Id say get down before half 4 ish and you will be ok, people will be in work thinking they will join the queue afterwards and things, He will probabaly do two shows like he has been doing if you dont make it in the first one you should be good to go on the 2nd atleast.

Thanks so much for the reasurance. I finish uni at 1 o clock so I'll probably head down to Bolton train station from uni and get there at about 2ish at the latest depending on the venue. (Hopefully Albert Halls because thats right near Oxford train station! I have rushed from that station many a time before to get to events *cough mcm expo cough*).

I just hope there isnt any pushing and shoving when we get closer to the doors, I've heard a few horror stories about the London gigs and stuff like that happening. Some people can be arses.

should be spot on, If it is Albert hall, the guy who manages the venue is the same guy who does Warehouse project and Parklife, he has his own Security firm he wont want any hassle, they dont take any shit lol

Reading the reports from Ronnie Scott's queue, I am more concerned about safety and security than I was before and I was already nervous. Let's hope lessons have been learned and acted upon by Friday. We are going to enjoy a night out. It should not be a frightening experience.

same here Clare, just want a great day & night meeting purple people, seeing 3EG on my doorstep, have booked a fab hotel etc...don't want the experience ruined by idiots! Going off past expereince the hardcore tend to be protective of their own & soon deal with any scalleys.

I don't wanna put a damper on your plans, but if you're on crutches with an injury bad enough to get you off work, I'm not sure a gig (all standing, at that) is really the best idea confused lol

Hi everyone

Soooo pleased that Prince is (hopefully) going to play somewhere in Manchester. I have been promising my daughter for years that I would take her to a Prince concert - she is now 16 and i have a son who is 14 - my question is will they be allowed in to wherever the gig is? I suppose no one can say until the venue is announced? Also how will I find out the venue - Dr funkenberry? radio?

U know there ain't no other

It'll be on here within seconds of an announcement.

On twitter #princewatch, #3rdeyegirl etc.

just be in central Manchester at least by latest lunchtime i'd say, maybe even earlier on Saturday. Taxi close at hand.

Can't help with the kids, some venues might have age restrictions.

Unless it's a late late gig some where most music venues have a under 14's accompanied by an adult policy

So would I, but its common courtesy isn't it? And, "Jumping on the bandwagon" - who said anything about that? We don't want that either. All I'm saying is that there are true fans who still couldn't go to London for whatever reason who now might be able to see him. From say Newcastle or Glasgow. Of course people will have travelled before the Manc date was announced!

Wasnt a dig at you lol just saying id rather people who have followed him travel from where ever they need to get in even if it is london and they have already been to a show over alot of the people I have spoken to who want to go because they liked "purple rain" once or know a couple of tracks that he probabaly wont even do, If i miss out on getting in id rather it be to other fans or people off the Org than just someone who thinks they will go for the sake of it smile
