Seems really odd considering there are apparently stlll 150 on the door tickets available for the first show.

I've just thought the same after hearing there's still door tickets left. Are they hoping the people from the first show pay in again? I guess people done that for the London shows?
.
I've got a ticket for tomorrow but tempted to drive down there now!

Perhaps the 2nd show will be £10 and a much longer set. If that happens there is gonna be a lot of moaning and venting on here by those that paid £70 (+fees) for the 1st show lol

i must say that i had an idea that there would be a lot of tickets for sale on the door & that not many tickets were released for sale.. now he's really got people confused! queue or not to queue?

Why not just charge everyone £70 for a decent length show and send them all home happy? Or option B the mind f***... alienating the people who really want to see you, what a bizarre approach.

He's the genius though, not us, so am sure the genius in it will become apparent in due course...just not very visible right now.

One thing for sure, the touts are going to be having a bad night. Tickets on the door and now a 2nd show. Even if no 2nd show, just the announcement will stop people buying for first.

Perhaps my theory of a £10 charge for the 2nd show isn't so wrong. That way the fans attending the 1st show don't feel so short changed and those in for the second show get a nice low price. Also means some can choose to do both for just a tenner more. Everyone a winner? lol

As of 10mins ago, I saw a tweet saying that only 60 people were in the queue. So how ideal would it be if P only charged £10 for the second show? He'd need the majority of the first show to re-attend, as it stands so far. Long funky night! cool

It would seem a little strange...

So its not a second show. But the second half of the first gig at the Academy, hence half price tix. Allegedly! wtf?!?

In other words, his management left the annoucement for the second show far too late and they overestimated the population and spare cash in Manchester compared to London.

Shambles. Shambles. Shambles.

It's all a bit cringeworthy isn't it? A second gig announced, then they had to drop their prices and let the queue into the second half of the first gig? Because of bad numbers?

How can you piss off as many fans as possible with one gig. Well done Kiran!!

Hopefully it won't put him off coming up North in future. He's only got his management to blame for this. Pretty embarrassing for him not filling the academy despite the hype suggesting otherwise all week. That seems to have been the case if they were letting people in halfway through for half price.

.

I had the cash I just spent it on something else thanks to these Manc gigs supposedly being 'Sold Out'.

.

Better organisation next time! Some of us can't be arsed pissing about these days.

As far as I can tell, all the people that either purchased tickets or queued for the start of the first show, were admitted. This announcement resulted in a small number of fans queueing for an aniticipated second show and then being admitted at a reduced entrance price to the end of the first show. So I don't think anyone was particularly pissed off but no doubt disappointed fans will report their disappointment.

This is why it all should be advance tickets.

I think P will be majorly pissed off. This could easily be interpreted negatively in the media. Still, it might get his ass back down to London to sell out a few more gigs to end on a high note. Hopefully with advance normal ticketing. Nah, who am I kidding... lol

.

Just these numbers alone, barely a couple of hundred queuing for tix on the door, Prince's glum look in the car, well it kind of says it all really.

.

It was probably a good gig still, he's a pro. Should have waited til the Apollo was free and had someone make their mind up. Tickets or queue with a set price.

.

All this uncertainty probably put tons of people off.

.

Not with this band configuration, but an artist of Prince stature should be selling out a night at far bigger venues than the academy.

just got back from the gig [truly, truly amazing gig..more like an aftershow!]. OK lots of confusion outside, big q for £35 tix based on twitter info..fans NOT being turned away as of midnight by security, security really should be confirming it. Damn shame as its raining & the fans there need 100% clarity.maybe I should go back there!!

Actually I don't think this^^^^ is the issue, homie....

The problem is P and company accouncing a second show while the other show is still happening....On a Friday night???.....This is when people are already out and about in MANCHESTER, not London where u can pull off such a stunt....

I don't care who u r...U can't do that on short notice and ONLY announce it on Twitter....lol

P should have left after the first packed show and kept it moving....

Bottom line: Prince can sell out just about any venue in the UK....But he has to give people notice for LATE NIGHT shows....If u r going to do a second show, just announce it the same day that tickets r going on sale for the first gig...It's just that simple...

HUGE error on P's part....But he'll survive...lol...
