If you have queued up outside the venue all day, you have earned the right to go in, where ever you are from.

I drove from Manchester for 3.5 hours as soon as Shepherds Bush O2 was announced and queued for 5 hours to get in.

I don't think many 'casual fans' who liked Purple rain will queue outside a venue for 6+ hours and pay £70 to attend, and if they do, they deserve to attend.

[Edited 2/18/14 3:57am]

It's pretty hard to judge whether someone is a 'true' fan or a 'casual' fan without giving them some lengthy Prince quiz. If they're in the queue and willing to pay the money, they have every right to go to the show.

However, I think it is a fair request to ask that Londoners who have already seen one or more of these shows stay away. There are enough fans in Manchester to fill whatever venue he picks. It wouldn't be fair for a Manchester fan to miss out on a Manchester show because of some Londoners who've already seen him. He isn't coming up to Manchester to play for more Londoners.. he hasn't been up north for 12 years, let us have a go now.

Please grow up!!!

Yes, what are you talking about! You telling me all the London shows were only attended by Londoners!! Didn't see any 'Northeners don't come!!' posts. I'm a Londoner living in Cornwall, working in Scotland and if I want to come to Manchester on Saturday then I shall. Sorry.

Im actually hoping they dont announce a ticket event now, which wouldnt suprise me, as WHP/Albert hall will already have deals set up with Ticketline for their usual events.

If he does his usual thing of two shows a night, is it posible for me to get into both shows? I'm planning on getting to the venue around 9am if he announces the day before, or within 10 minutes of the Friday announcment as I live right in the centre of Manchester. However, it seems that the second show is usually where it's at, so how would I go about attending both? Hide in the venue after the first show?

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

If your from London or Lisbon U R ALL WELCOME UP HERE GUYS. Yes he dont play here 2 often but he dont play Wales North East Yorkshire or Scotland either and im sure he has many fans there who will be hitting our fair city So if some want to come up from the smoke More the Merrier I say. Just bare in mind I dont finish work till 2.30 on Fri so if you could do a bit of sight seeing before then id appreciate it wink Many great pubs to try too

Exactly, I'd rather queue for 8 hours than desperately try my hand online when 1000's other try and probably crash the site.

I shall try and reiterate my point.

I don't have a problem with Londoners being at the shows.. only if they have already seen him in the past 2 weeks. These are small venues, there is limited capacity. More people want tickets than are available. If you went to the SBE show, a Koko show, or an EB show, it's not fair to go to more than that. Just have some courtesy for other people who haven't been able to see him yet.

What's the capacity of the albert halls, Manchester?

Does anybody think we may get a surprise gig on Thursday?

Honestly, as nutty as it sounds, you're better off hanging back if there is any second show because it's more free and funky...from my experience and whst I've heard, first shows are an exercise in clock watching

This will be epic. I tweeted kiran this morning saying Manchester BRIDGEWATER HALL IS best venue with awesome accoustics. Hope they listen either way it will be good. Wonder if they will ticket the event or announce venue on the day. On the day wud be better to avoid towts and casual fans tsking up valuable places

The Bridgewater Hall has awful acoustics for a rock concert, i know from personal experience having been to a few. It was designed for classical music and its purpose suits that better by a million miles

But it's a potentially risky strategy - and who knows, what if he chooses just to do one show one night... zounds. so exciting yet anxiety raising this - enjoying it but wish I had a Crystal Ball!

jjam said: Yeah Ritz is a safe bet or acadamy or apollo. Bridgewater is booked up. Didnt Alicia Keys play in manchester cathedral and Bjork play at science musium? So anything is possible

The Ritz is booked up both nights, i think the Academy is too,

I did Tweet Kiran about the Cathedral a few week back, its only 1000 capacity though, i think the advanced notice means it will be a larger venue to give people a chance to travel. I book the Cathedral often for some clients of mine so I know the management quite well, i'll give him a call on Monday and ask.

My guess is Victoria Warehouse Trafford 3000-4000 capacity standing would be brilliant for 3rd eye gig, dingy warehouse feel but great atmosphere its where they did the Stone roses made of stone Premier, its free next weekend too and the weekend after Radio 6 have it booked both nights for some shows they are doing.

There is also the Monastry gorton again nice venue and the Lowry theatre.

The othr is the newly re-opened Albert hall, its a great space 3000 capacity over two floors woulf work well

The Albert Hall is supposedly haunted, lots of ORBS apparently. The 'Most Haunted' crew went there once, spent half their time downstairs in the club area, Brannigans. If that wasn't bad enough Derek Acorah then pretended to be possessed by a demon soul, his acting performance was so good he really should have chosen hollywood instead of fake demon possessions.

haha hate that ball bag me, Orbs alot of the time are specs of dust in the sight of the camera. Its mad how it lay in ruins all them years, I think its excellent they restored it, no other venue like it in Manchester. Although with all the club nights they are doing with the younger crowd off their tits its only a matter of time before someone goes over that Balcolny and there is a potential Fatallity on their hands like Tiger Tigers stairs.

At Koko, people were hiding all over the place. It was quite funny. They were routed out by staff. I actually found a spot that was not be checked, but didn't stay as I would have missed my last train.

I couldnt stop laughing, it just looks like a tall dude in a hoodie. Nothing new for Bolton really.
