I just started a new thread on that before I just seen this. Strange one that ! Unless whoever is in charge of the Twitter account was asked not to create negativty.

I think the majoriy of tickets went to fans. People are mad at touts and rightly so, but there isnt a massive amount of tickets listed on seatwave and stubhub (id say the same tickets are listed on each as the prices and quanities match up). I think the professional touts werent ready and couldnt not capitalise, its most chancers and a few fans reselling. Shame.

I think you are right there.

It doesnt look like many touts /resellers have managed to get hold of them due to the short notice and out of the blue release time.

It was all a bit bizarre becasue as Prince said on the Brits he was doing gigs in Manchester someone seemed to flick a switch at Manchester Academy - Clever

So do we reckon the walk up tickets will be sold on the door or available to buy Friday morning?

That's what I want to know. If they intend to sell on the door they'll need 2 queues. One for tickets/ one without. The academy box office opens at 8 am tomorrow, will they be selling them then? It's less hassle for them to sell them ASAP...

So disappointed I missed this... I was playing a gig. Even more gutted for my friends in Manchester that were planning to queue up on Friday... This feels a little cruel with no warning..

I'm not sure they'll need two queues? I'm thinking if everyone queues up in one line, when you get to the door you'll have the oppertunity to buy a ticket or simply get turned away if there's none left? Eitherway advanced ticket holders are guarenteed entry.

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

I agree.... It is highly unlikley that any organised touts got tickets, as nobody knew when (or even that) they were going on sale. The tickets we are seeing on the reseller sites are likley just a few random individuals who seized the opportunity to get tickets and are trying to make some quick money off fans.

3EG seem to have taken onboard the pleas for advanced tickets, but also combined it with the unnannounced hit-and-run mentality and the #princewatch spirit - ie only those watching closely had a chance to get the tickets. Sure, anyone not paying attention misses out on getting tickets, but then without tickets, anyone not willing or able to queue up for hours and hours misses out. So neither method is perfect by a long way.

I would imagine that most of the Manchester tickets have gone to genuine fans who, like myself, watched 3EG present the award at the BRITs and then had a quick check online to see if there was any actual news on the Machester gigs. Certainly the super-touts wouldn't have had a chance to get batches of tickets, as they wouldn't have known they were going on sale.

Also I notice that the tickets are named, and state they they must not be resold. So in theory at least, the venue could eradicate touting by just asking for ID on the door. confused

That was actually a bad re-tweet of someone else's tweet to them (@daf1999, I beleive?) from a few minutes prior. My guess is that they deleted it to avoid any confusion. I have noticed that @3rdEyeGirl have this weird habit of copy/pasting tweets from fans into tweets, rather than just using the re-tweet button.

It is quite bizarre that all tickets were sold at the door, until Manchester.

The presale openen unannounced while mr P was on the tele for the Brit awards.

Right?

It's quite wrong.

I do feel sorry that some genuine fans who missed out, especially those that had booked travel and hotels, but this is prince all over.....expect the unexpected! There's been so much bitching about the queuing, complaints about no tickets and I think the ticket release in a hit a run style was quite genius....I thought it was a bit suspicious it was announced on the Brits....imagine the que so I did my usual checking and it worked out good for me...I'm sure if genuine fans end up with spares they'll sell on to fans it's just the few chancers trying to cash in on the tout sites, but everyone was worried about casuals in the que and I'd imagine there'd b more after an announcement like that.....

Does it matter when (currently) they are not on sale?

70 quid it was, I believe.

Currently priced in unobtanium coins.

So if anyone likes decent beer and would like to meet beforehand (I'll be on my own like quite a few others it seems) then I'd love to meet anyone from here and go down on mass later. My fave beer places in Town are either Port Street Beer house or Brewdog (Peter Street), I don't care which as both have a brill selection of top quality beer. Brewdog does food if that swings any votes. Happy to go elsewhere if the majority want something a bit cheaper on the prices front but I still would like some decent beer. smile

I'm coming with a mate of mine, but i reckon a meet up for beer/food before hand sounds good.

Not too close to gig time though. Would like to get there early enough to try and get near front!

Prince? His minions. And the greedy.

expect the unexpected!

That is a poor excuse for stupidity.

If he cannot implement a constant method, even in this short timespan, by which he sells his shows then his 'management' are idiots.

Probably they booked the venue but did not arrange for ALL tickets to be sold on the show day so the venue went for the quick cash route. (leaving people in the dark w.r.t. how many tickets will be at the door)

So Kiran, or whoever did this, did not learn even the simplest things that can be prevented to benefit the true fans.

And no, I ain't going so I can bitch all I want.

I reckon your right! Can't see many touts getting in that quick when fans like me having been scanning all news sources ALL the time.

And I'd be well shocked if prince allowed some tickets to be presold to an agency like seatwave - goes against the grain of the hit n run tour!

Wooooahhh....simmer down, just asking.

Was curious which incarnation of pricing they'd gone for...£10,£35,£70...more because they're guaranteed.

Oh man Prince just can't win can he! A lot of us (inc me) moaned that the queue and pay on entry approach meant a lot of us could not get to these shows and we therefore wanted advance ticket sale.

He does an advance ticket sale (small venue remember so going to sell out fast) and bang, now people are moaning they didn't get a ticket!!!!!!

They (Kiran) have said there will be some tickets on the door so a mixed approach.

I think it shows they have been listening.

Just hope they do the same if/when they return darn sarf to rock the capital again smile

I know what text complaint will be...and maybe rightly; they're not going to try to squeeze 2 shows in to an evening so people will prob get 2.5 hr gig....not the 90 minutes £70 got you at KOKO on sunday

So true.... He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

I think the approach for the tour as a whole has been about right - not perfect, but what would be.

They learned from the lessons of the first gig and tightened up security. They listened to fans (like me) who couldnt queue and did an advance sale.

There will always be winners and losers in both approaches - I just hope that he stays around long enough so that everyone gets to go to at least one gig!

I hope it is just the one show, I think Curfew is normally 11pm, so unless he does two 1.5 hour shows i cant see it smile (however do they sometimes do club nights in there and i know they can get a late licence)

Quite right (fellow) bluenose !
Still, the loud Manc voices were heard and the more restrained Brummies have no gig in their own, totally central, splendid and less arrogant city smile
They must be a tad upset that the advance tix sale gives them less opportunity to queue for hours in their Parkers and show how "mad 4 it !" They are !
I'm just jealous he's not coming here and that in the hour I couldn't check stuff the tickets went on sale !! Feck !
