mad mad Fucking Seatwave are selling tickets for over £1000, Jesus. Organisations like that, and Stubhub, GetMeIn and all ticket touts big and small, make me boil with anger They feast on people's desperation, and for that reason they are only slightly above Goldman Sachs and Neo Nazoi groups in my estimation.

Anyway, I wasn't going to go this weekend (I'm down south, see). Just a bit pissed off that so many real music fans will have to consent to acts of financial sodomy to see Prince this weekend.

It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

BUT what do they mean by on the door? According to academy website the box office to 'buy tix on the door' is open 8am in the morning. Will they be selling them tomorrow morning? If so, I have no chance up here in newcastle

I always thought "on the door" means pay (cash) on entry and go straight in to the gig

I'm ringing them in the morning.

So to help those guys who missed out but are thinking of queueing can we please state the highest ticket number someone has for each show.

Venue on Wiki says 2600 Capacity.

So I have for starters

Friday: 1510

Sat : 664

If anyone has a higher number for either day, please post and we should be able to get an idea of number of tickets available on the door. Thx all.

You're higher than me - I got 1164 for the Firday night!

[Edited 2/19/14 15:03pm]

I have 1914 to 1917 for Sat don't know the other ones we have yet. How do they stop e-tickets being printed out 10 times? I suppose only first one gets in so no point really unless your mates get in first then you as the purchaser to in and prove its you..risky but with such high demand for these gigs might be tempting for some..just to spread some paranoia..

So if anyone likes decent beer and would like to meet beforehand (I'll be on my own like quite a few others it seems) then I'd love to meet anyone from here and go down on mass later. My fave beer places in Town are either Port Street Beer house or Brewdog (Peter Street), I don't care which as both have a brill selection of top quality beer. Brewdog does food if that swings any votes. Happy to go elsewhere if the majority want something a bit cheaper on the prices front but I still would like some decent beer. smile

Once that barcode is scanned at the door any duplicates get rejected.

You need to direct your anger at the promotors/ticket agancies they are the ones who are selling the tickets directly to these sites before they go on general release.

So safe to say they've at least sold up to 2,000, anyone got a number higher than 2,000 for Fri or Sat?

Does anyone know the layout of the Academy. Also not very tall. Is the floor sloped or flat and is there a balcony that may be better for us shorties?

You are probably correct, although the touts will deny this. It's either that or they have 'fans' in their employ who are remarkably efficient at snapping up tickets on general sale.

Says there is a balcony area but isn't clear if that is for disabled people only...

Really good venue for a show like this, not an obvious slope from what I remember, I'm only 5"6 but managed to see everything last time I was there. I imagine the sound and atmosphere are going to blow us away....I seriously can't wait! No balcony either....just don't get behind a tall person wink

It just literally a large room, no slope i dont think but last show i went there I got to the side and had an OK view, im only 5'6". Hope to get near the front.

A little tip for people, If you dont drink and maybe drink water they dont give you the bottle caps, so can get a little awkward, sneak on in haha I got fed up of bear last time and went onto water, pissed me off everyone jumping around, ended up with most of it over me

3EG twitter account just tweeted @3RDEYEGIRL: "Npgmc was a superb model for cutting out the scalpers for premium tickets. Also helped fans plan gigs"

But when I tried to favourite the tweet & retweet it a message can't do that as tweet deleted! What's going on?

So, I have no idea where to go in Manchester before the gig so any tips ?

Is the venue near the centre?

So do we reckon the walk up tickets will be sold on the door or available to buy Friday morning?

I got two sides... and they're both friends.
