I think people will be queuing from very early to get the best spots/door tickets, we can't all get there till 6.30ish, I think wherever you are in the venue the atmosphere & gig will be awesome, I'm so excited. I'll be on the balcony but still think it'll be great from up there smile

I was actually wondering if there is a balcony. Is it a decent size? I may try n get up there myself

It's just for disabled and their companions I'm afraid....I was quite worried when I originally thought we were all going to have to que due to the reports of pushing and surges as I'm on crutches and was in two minds weather to bother so this has turned out absolutely perfect for me biggrin

Depends on who you ask.

Most of the naysayers are too scared of democracy.

how would you know that? and who are the naysayers? the simple fact is that most people in scotland don't want independance. most people want to remain part of the uk and want what is known as devo max - which is basically scotland staying part of the uk but having more control over finances etc within scotland. however that's not an option for voters. however a minority of people are still stubborn headedly trying to persuade others to vote for independance without having planned things out properly, and having a load of empty promises without having any plans to make them happen. so naturally most people are against those ludicrous ideas and plan to vote against independence. and democracy will rule and the UK will remain intact. the people who don't want to follow alex salmonds ill though out plans are happy that democracy will rule. i don't think many who are thinking of voting yes as scared of democracy as they seem to crazy they think they will get their way

Just a warning to those not familiar with Manchester who are going to the shows on Friday and Saturday night, the location of the gig Manchester Academy is near a pretty rough side of Manchester, Moss Side.

So yeah, just making people aware.

Haha, in the official tour thread I made a wisecrack likening Manchester to a South American crime ridden favela. Might be nearer the truth than I expected.

You've obviously never been there when the bars ran out of beer.

Moss Side and Salford are pretty much full of Gangs and guns, just giving a warning out to people who are having to walk through these areas late at night. Dodgy as hell.

Just re-iterating what's already been said. The Manchester Academy music venue is on Oxford Road, right in the middle of studentsville. This is not the Manchester Academy on Moss Lane East! http://www.manchesteracad...ccess.html I went to my first gigs here as a student and never had a problem, that was in the days when Manchester was rougher than it is now! I actually lived about a 3 minute walk away and only ever had issues with gangs and such when I lived in Longsight! Y'all have a blast at these shows! I'm sure they'll be amazing, long, single-set shows that will blow your minds. SFK

Well that sounds much more positive. Sorry if anyone was mislead by the information I was given but it was 100% what I was told. Sounds like the 0161 box office number is the one to ring rather than Ticketline.

The venue is on Oxford Road which is basically the heart of the student quater in Manchester and there are countless bars all the way down it.

I don't know but tge general format for London seems to have been doors at 7pm show at 8(?). Except KOKO where they opened at 6 in the hope,it seems, of doing 3 90 min shows which later became 90mins and 2.5 hrs. These Manchester gigs sound like 1 show per night so I imagine 2+ hrs is more likely...but that's all purely guess work

HELP needed!! So I'd left my bank card at work last night and had to use someone else's card! And just received an email stating the person who's name appears on the card must bring photo ID! I honestly don't think I can pass as a woman! What do I do?

I got a bit confused with that, it seems to be two academies... But I understand the one we are going to is not the one in Moss Side, but the one in Oxford Rd, is that right?

Wow, I don't know. Probably best to ring the venue and ask for their advice. Hope you can sort it out!

I am planning getting the 3pm coach from Liverpool and booking the 0030 back in case there is a second show.

Mind you I don't have a ticket at moment and am torturing myself whether to give in to the touts and buy one tonight. Otherwise I will see what. Happening with queue and touts when I get there. But concern is the touts there may sell multiple copies and the ticket is worthless. Am gutted I missed it by minutes last night

Hi all. Unfortunately I missed out on two tickets last night by a matter of minutes, can't manage Saturday's show due to family commitments and I can't get out of working a full day tomorrow! So, does anyone think I have any chance at all of getting a ticket or two if I get to the box office at around 4.30pm tomorrow? Haven't been able to see any of the tour yet.
