I guess Koko is going to be my best chance to see him on this tour. Wish they hadn't announced it so far in advance though. It's going to be a complete bun fight, isn't it? Regardless, I'm going to aim to get there for midday and hope that's early enough. Anyone know the capacity? All of my hang-ups have gone. How I wish you felt the same.

Was a great show though and so pleased we got in. Was checking Twitter in the v&a museum and rushed over London to kings cross as soon as the news came in! Was so close to getting into first show but meant great seats when they opened up for show 2. Incredible night!

I really hope they sell tickets for Koko. It's going to be mental to have to go and wait there after giving this much notice. But at least they're being a bit more transparent about their plans now, I hope the Brixton thing pans out. RIP

Assuming Koko will be "turn up and queue and pay on entry". Means people will start queuing pretty early, certainly in the morning. I really admire (and am envious) of folks who can drop everything and do that. Loads have said it but being in my 40s with responsibilities means I will have to count myself out. If I was still in my 20s without a care in the world I would be there freezing my butt off with the rest of you. Have fun AGAIN...
But please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Prince do some advanced ticket gigs! 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

koko is 1900 capacity. so its close to shepherds bush capacity wise and i'm not sure if that actually sold out, but it was close. people were turning up at 8pm and getting in. so as there were shows in EB and SBE and last night, many casual fans will have got their fix and be fine, so koko shouldn't be too bad really. with EB people lined around the block for 1000 capacity and whilst he did two shows, everyone got to see one show at least, and many from the first show saw the second show too, and i don't think that was sold out entirely either. so 1900 seems about right capacity wise for a short notice line up and pay on the door gig. plus EB and SBE were £10, if this is £70 then it puts a some people off
brixton is much bigger so no probs there and i presume manchester will be brixton size venues due to demand and it's only two shows

How could I forget its called train in vain - well if it was by prince he would have called it 'u didn't stand by me' for sure!

Undertaker... How did they perform that one? Different? Like the old version? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Manchester Apollo looks booked next Friday and Saturday, Arena would sell out if they announced it soon and ticket it I reckon. Any other venues we can scout? I'd like to get to both of those gigs. If I can drive to Shepards Bush I can certainly get over the Pennines twice -----------------------------------------

Ahhh was it stratus - are the basslines similar? I need some help with this setlist! Surely not the only one in there from prince.org. who got on stage for the last song? [Edited 2/15/14 0:40am]

Stratus was the one early on, somewhere around Play That Funky Music. Very distinctive rumbling bass line, each player solos and then comes together in a repeated climactic riff. Prince started on keyboards, nicked the girl's bass, later switched to guitar. I love Stratus, always a highlight for me, never tire of that riff, different every time.

congrats to those that did the the kings cross do, what a magical oppotunity!. the guardian reports an instrumental cover of 'more than this' by roxy music, exquisite version no less i can't paste the link for some reason

more than this was fucking cool and the version of stratus in the first show was fucking amazing, played on keys by prince for the majority, like the original version, then he turned to guitar. the sound was fantastic, not too much bass like SBE

Sounds like it was pretty great last night.
Will be interesting to see how things go on Sunday and Monday in terms of queueing - if it looks like getting there by lunchtime is good enough to get in, and other Londom shows are announced 24 hours in advance, then I should be able to make another one.
But if there are enough people there by lunchtime to fill the venues, then its probably not going to happen.

First up jealous as hell but also please for you and all the real hardcore fans who are getting to these shows. BUT how is this working unique. You went to BOTH shows last night? How? I thought it was queue and pay on door, first come first served. Then those who don't get into first show get in for the second show. Do they not clear the venue of the first crowd and then let in the second? Do you have an invisible cloak? 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Well that was fun! Glad I ignored the various doom monger.
I jumped on the train to London and as I arrived @710pm I saw the news on Twitter and was straight over to Kings Cross. 218 in the q and we were second last row in the venue so I reckon 250-275 actually got in.
It was one of the strangest experiences of my life. The acoustic set was surreal, the electric set made my ears hurt due to the volume. A real funky crowd.
It was nice to see almost everyone from the EB q there including our very own Scotsman on the balcony singing his heart out! Also noticed the young lady from Poland made the second show as I was leaving.
Sometimes u gotta take a risk in this life and it paid off this time.
Now - getting homw was a disaster, trees fell on my line and I was sat on a train for 3hrs before getting a taxi 100 miles.....

I was also at both shows, dont remember any free stuff...but here was the above, lol...sold exclusively on O'Connell Bridge for those willing to shed $22 mill. If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.
