New topic PrintableWow! never seen so much excitement 4 Prince coming 2 do a tour stop. I'm very happy 4 U. Plus there is no negativity whatsoever like other threads on here. U Aussies seem like very humble & grateful people. Which it was like this here in the US....Prince is going 2 b very appreciated down under. Unlike the ungrateful people here(except me) [Edited 4/16/12 16:36pm] [Edited 4/16/12 17:04pm] will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! There are a lot of aussie chicks who would love to appreciate Prince down under. aiiiigght If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

It's because he hardly ever comes to Australia. Of course he would be less appreciated in America where he tours very frequently.

I had to get the Rod Laver Packagage, Gold tickets with a meet up, drinks provided, food, basically a function put on to justify adding $200 to the $179 gold tickets so $379 for each.
First show, Rod Laver Premimum Package ($379) - Gold Ticket BUT Secion 19 Row H
Second show, Purple Reserve Floor, Section F
Third Show, Section 9 Row B Gold Ticket
An absolute mess getting tickets, lost them twice, so did my girl and a friend that was also trying. We had 3 computers and mobile phones on standby for buying tickets. My girl was lucky enough to snap up the Purple Reserve floor - 4 of them on her mobile for us.
Complete mess and hours later my head exploded.
Absolutely stoked we got what we got considering how many others missed out.

Got a pair of Gold tickets for the Friday 11th Sydney show Was so happy when I finally managed to get them; I spent 40 minutes on the site.

Wait til he plays a 80 min set one night and 2 and a half hours the next - lol.
Prince's success on this tour will generally be based on how many of the hits he plays. Most people coming want a Greatest Hits show. Of course us fans will love hearing the oddities or tracks off Rainbow Chidren, 20Ten etc.
I imagine most people will love the shows. "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

imagine that to. The fans here r still complaining about his greatest hits being played. 'm glad he will be appreciated by U Aussies.... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! I'm curious to know how much he will mix up setlists between shows.. I'm going to 4 of them and hoping there will be changes?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Just have a look at setlist.fm and you'll see that there is variety from show to show.
Since he only comes to our country once a decade, you have to expect that it will be a Greatest Hits tour. For me, that's a lot better than playing the recent stuff.
I got a huge death stare from the missus when I told her the price of the tickets I got ($350), even though I am finance minister of the household. Going to a second concert, if it happens, seems unlikely right now. "Don't abuse children, or else they'll turn out like me."

He'll probably be doing promos, interviews & some recording during the stretch between Bris/Melb. I can't imagine him flying to another country, it wouldn't be financially ethical, right? Peace in the House of Prince.

The man gets sued every other month ($4 Million for perfume!!) so financial ethics does not come into it with skipper! If he gets out of bed the wrong way tomorrow the concerts might even get canned! (Dublin anyone?)

True K. But as someone else mentioned, he's only been here 3 times so we're not bored of him yet.
Mind you, all the negativity from the US makes me think if he'll put on a show or not when he gets here. I hope he does!
Ive seen him 11 times which is a lot for an Aussie, but not for a EUR or US fan. But I cant wait to see him 3 more times!
You guys have been spoilt, but even then I cant see how you would complain. Id love to casually say..... "hey, P's playing on Thursday night, wanna go just for fun, its only $20!"

bad news.
as mentioned by someone else earlier, the Showbiz seating plan picture has changed, as has the description for what you get for a premium fan experience.
for example, for a gold reserve premium fan experience it no longer says that you get tickets in the first five rows of the gold section.
the description now is that you get a gold ticket plus the drink, food and merchandise voucher. no guarantee now of in first five rows DrD

That's not really bad news, as long as someone has saved the original details of what was included, you just get a class action together and sue them for false advertising.
It seems pretty cut and dry to me. They changed the terms and conditions AFTER you purchased the tickets. Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

I found an answer to this on the Showbiz Facebook page.
It seems that basically, those that purchased packages when the line was in there about the first 5 rows GOT the first five rows - then the packages were modified because they ran out of tickets for the first 5 rows (which presumably means that anyone that bought tickets after that line was taken out almost certainly WON'T get first 5 rows )
(just edited my post after re-reading the official response)
This was the exact answer given on the Showbiz Facebook page in response to someone with a similar concern:
"The first release of packages we had for our members to buy were the first 5 rows in each of the various seating categories (as shown on the map that was posted at that time). As we ran out of these packages, then later customers were purchasing packages that were outside the first 5 rows - all content on the website was modified as we ran out of tickets for the first 5 rows. Please contact our team on 1300 474 697 with your booking number and credit card number so we can find your booking and confirm what you purchased if you're unsure." [Edited 4/17/12 0:06am] This sucks. I got mine from ticketek with their VIP gold package very early on. There was no mention of where gold was so I only had the showbiz map to go on.. Technically I haven't got a leg to stand on but I think they behaved cynically by not advising that gold actually meant 95% of the venue. I think my assumption that $385 would give me value beyond the fucking mushroom vol au vent and can of horse piss weak Aussie beer (no offense) was a reasonable one. I just hope that by buying them at presale they fill from the bottom up, otherwise it's a farce. Did anyone else buy ticketek premium packages? Everyone else seems to have bought from showbiz. I hope you all bought early. If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

Just watched it, interesting that they show 28 year old footage of him from the When Doves Cry video, you think it would be more recent at least like showing a Gold experience period or Musicology period video. Oh well, here in New Zealand it has not been mentioned at all by any of our media outlets because of FLO Rida being here and the One direction concert Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I have just had another look at the www.princetour.com.au site to see how ticket sales are going. I had a look at the watch our TV ad link. The new ad mentions the extra shows in Syd & Mel in the voice over and extra shows is flashed on the screen. However if you look at the text at the end of the ad there is also reference to a second Bris show on 19 May!
I may be selfish but I hope that this second Bris show does not happen. My reasons are that in 2003 when I was in Syd I had VIP tics to the first Syd show on 24 Oct and then there was another show anounced on 25 Oct. Due to the scond show Prince did not play at the after show at The Basement! It was a thrill that he turned up to the after show for a short time but did not play. Of course he did play at the after show folowing the 25 Oct gig.
My logic is that if there is only the one show in Bris Prince will be more likely to play at the after show! (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let there be an after show!!!) The years have been kind to me..............................it's the weekends that have done the damage!

That is pretty selfish to say you hope there is not a second Brizzy concert - I hope there is for all the fans that missed out for the first night. Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Selfish yes but there are still tickets available for the first Bris show.
My dream would be for there to be a second Bris show and to have the $$$ to go to both! I may have to see the bank manager or take a trip to cash converters. The years have been kind to me..............................it's the weekends that have done the damage!

I just noticed that the end of the ad also has a third Syd show on the 24 May.
It must have been the ad ending that was scheduled to run if ticket sales went throught he roof. The years have been kind to me..............................it's the weekends that have done the damage!

Yea! Having the option of picking 2 see him 4 21 nights was a dream & 4 just $25. was able 2 take people that never experienced him b 4. We have been spoiled here in LA. But I've never been bored of him. He did change it up.Each night was never the same... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"!
