Has anybody gone to the Roosevelt in person to make a purchase?? I rather have
a solid written receipt in my hand rather than a verbal confirmation.

...something, something just aint right

if p was paid by verizon and the roosevelt then that means that prince himself did NOT set these prices if the show is being sponsored by verizon, just like citibank sponsored the san francisco show, then the "suits" can set whatever price they want i'm not saying he doesn't know but business is business and they wanna recoup also who says that fans are "entitled" to attend every show sometimes there are events that are specifically targeting the moneybag/casual fan p did a lot over the years for diehards so cut the man some slack if you can't afford to go i know you're disappointed but that doesn't mean there won't be something else later on and i don't get the madonna comparison cuz those high ticket prices was for an arena tour not standing next to 70 people in a room with 200

my aunt just called again about tickets and they said that Prince originally requested tickets be $75 and only contest winners get VIP but the hotel wanted to pay PRince his cut out of sales and since this isnt really being promoted by promoters the raised the price to pay him his fee. so although he is making up all the concert rules, it still is a business.

Oh ok, I see, so you and Jseven basically got the info from the same persons. Well, hope you get a chance to go and have a great time at that.

Send a credit card number by email? How crazy do these people think we are?

I had an epiphany today. I'm 37 yrs of age, and still crawling over the web to find info on tix, this time to the Roosevelt. As I was tripping over the lack of information and utter confusing way in which it's being handled, I thought, you know, I'd much rather just collect old films of performances and watch when the nigga just played and did things his way, as opposed to go through all of this drama he's creating for a ticket. Example, I just called the Roosevelt, and the message confirmed what I was thinking. All they say is that you should go to 3121.com or their website for ticket info. Both of those venues say send an email or call the hotel. WTF. I can honestly say that at this point, I could see him or not, but no more jumping through hoops. It's kinda corny when you think about it. When he came to SF last month, I was in a club 1/2 a mile away and didn't trip, as I really didn't feel like getting a scalped tix. Life is too short for drama.
Sat is my b-day, I have a room reserved and airfare for LA, but damn, nukka still can't give out definitive info about the gigs. I suppose that when I was younger, this was kinda cool and all, but now, it's more of a pain in the ass. And how out of sync with the times do you have to be to suggest that people send a c/c number via e-mail? I think that when it's al lsaid and done, they simply have some very unprofessional people handling these things. And I'm tired of the chick thing to. Chelsea Rodgers? We get it Prince, you can pull the bitches. But, really, who is she but another pretty face, which are literally a dime a dozen in LA, and a giel who can design t-shirts? Do we really have to put up with another protege who's bring propped up cause she's slightly black and pretty? I know this has be said ad nauseum, but I really wish he had the attitude he did back in the day...even 5 yrs ago. I guess it's cool that it's all about the benjies at this point, but damn, if you want people to pay, get your shit together.

Right on! The best is email your credit card info. hahaha nice try Prince!

I'm glad I've seen Prince 7 times because these days I don't have the energy for Prince's bullshit business practices. Shame on you Prince for those absurd ticket prices. And for the first time in my 23 years of being a Prince fan I could really care less about his new album, "Planet Earth." The song "Guitar" sounds like something out of "Musicology" or "3121," two discs I never played again after the first two weeks.

This whole thing has me laughing my ass off.

Here comes Prince talking about a charity perfume...where he gives 7% of the profits to 7 charities. Generous, Princey. lol

Next, he announces a set of 7 shows (at a hotel, no less) for the down to earth price of $3121 (and that doesn't even included tax, tip, or alcohol) or GA tickets for $312.01.

All of this 3121 business, of course, thanks to a cd that dropped a year ago and went...nowhere. falloff

This guy is totally crazy. And quite frankly, anyone who supports this lunacy is just as crazy. lol

i understand where BOTH of yall are coming from. but im not 37 im only 24 and although im basically the same age a purple rain, i was raised on Prince.. ive always loved him waaay more than mj.. i remember watching purple rain over and over when i saw soo young cause my aunt was a hue prince fan. opportunities for me to see Prince up close and personal have been far and few here in l.a. i DID go see musicology a bunch of times but that was just my first taste of him performin live ( of course my parents wouldnt let me see him live when i was little) but now that i can roll, i cant help but to try. he is 49 and at any given time he can bow out of the game and i personally cant let this man come to my home town without me at least trying. everyone told me ( people older than me and that have experienced it) if i ever get a chance to see him in a up close and personal setting to try. and damnit im gonna try. so while i do respect everyone who thinks its crazy and doesnt want to go i totally understand. but please dont discourage me for trying. sad BUT if you DONT get to see the purple one i hope u enjoy your stay in la and happy birthday.. but be aware its 90derees out here right now mad but seriously, besides musicology i only have concert dvds. i need 2 uprade my game some dont ya think?? i do.. if i go, i go, if not ill just keep pray for that world tour that has been rumored since 2004.. and if u thinnk about it, $312.01 is kind of expected.. its hollywood.. entertainment capitol. HELL lakers havent won since 2002 yet courtside is still $4000 and its sold out every game rolleyes

( not his 1st #1 cd, but his first #1 entry after a 7day soundscan... that, plus vegas, plus superbowl and alma... face it, he aint stopping NO time soon.. when/if the world tour comes and tickets are 31.21 u will be happy

Yeah, I'm with pretty much everyone. A huge fan, I live in L.A. and thought how great it would be to see him here again. But this morning I drove by the Roosevelt on the way to work with really mixed feelings, it's all turned into such a pressure, send your card, maybe you'll get a ticket, maybe you won't, no service from the she she hotel situation (didn't we know they wouldn't give a damn) just losing some steam about it. It's getting really L.A. full of SH*T... So glad I saw him in Vegas and just wondering whether to let that magical night "rain" supreme for awhile - it makes ya a little crazy....too pricey and just too much demand. Most of the audience each night has GOT to be industry anyway...how couldn't it be...you can't even get into a dance club on a Saturday night around here...let alone Prince...I don't know.... sad BUT...if you've never seen him....maybe it's worth a shot.

so how much is 2 much 4 an intimate evening, for an arena ticket??

i guess not $312.01 cause people are and will still pay for it. i guess we will know how much is too much when no one buys a single ticket. but as of now, these prices aren't too much cause folks, including me are waiting for a response to see when and if we are going

yeah, I don't think 312 is too much for 200 person show in an intimate setting. I don't want to pay it, but its mostly because I saw him in Vegas and would rather use the money for something else right now. I'm even going to be in LA on the 28th. shrug good luck getting tix.

Wow the price, I could make a list of all things I could do with that kind of money.I like Prince but... I agree only the high rollers can afford those prices, while to rest of us have to just imagine what it would have been like. Even if I had the money I am not sure I would spend it on this gig in L.A. especially when probably other oppurtunities are sure to come up in the near future to see him in concert for much less. One day,oh one day.....
