That's the post of the month right there. P is definately trying to jack folks. $312.00 dollars?! For that kind of money, P's little ass better let me get up on stage and let me play the guitar solo to Purple Rain. I'm totally serious.

lol yeah right. for that kinda money u can rent a venue to play ur own cocnert.. hahaha jk

P and his posse have gone bonkers for the benjamins. During the Musicology tour the press was riding Madonna about her ticket prices, and that the "average" fan could not pay the prices. Well P has stepped up the game, by sidestepping and proving that by having an inviting intimit show, u can get whatever u ask.
MY QUESTION 2 U IS HOW MUCH IS 2 MUCH FOR A SHOW. the shows in Vegas were priced within the current market, and i considered the price accecptable. the prices for the London show, also acceptable and below the going rate. But the San Fran show, and now the shows in LA are proving the P is
1)trying to kill his fan base, by pricing the tickets for a SEAT well out of
the range for the "average" fan
2)P is tired of us at the org, and only wants non whining elite crowds who
will sit, eat, drink, and not have an opinion one way or another the day after
3)the JW's want him to infuse cash in the coffers to rival the mormons and
catholics in their plan for world domination or
4) he's GREEDY, and see's the opportunity to get some of us to fund his
retirement.
no matter how u look at this, are wallets are getting raped, and I think P and his peeps are asking themselves, how much is too much - what is the price that the people will stop buying tickets (notice I didn't say fans).

So how much is 2 much 4 u???
must be something in the water they drink..

if p was paid by verizon and the roosevelt then that means that prince himself did NOT set these prices if the show is being sponsored by verizon, just like citibank sponsored the san francisco show, then the "suits" can set whatever price they want i'm not saying he doesn't know but business is business and they wanna recoup also who says that fans are "entitled" to attend every show sometimes there are events that are specifically targeting the moneybag/casual fan p did a lot over the years for diehards so cut the man some slack if you can't afford to go i know you're disappointed but that doesn't mean there won't be something else later on and i don't get the madonna comparison cuz those high ticket prices was for an arena tour not standing next to 70 people in a room with 200

I have been informed it is the ROOSEVELT HOTEL that is selling the tickets at the current OVERPRICED rate since they have to Pay Prince his fee.

The price actually requested tix was 2 b $77.07

There is only 1 sponsor 4 not that much and only 200 ppl versus the 1000 at the Rio.

i understand where everyone is coming from... but its Prince... at any given time he can walk away from performing all together.... u just never know.. i know its kind of steep but totally worth it. this is PRINCE here... this isnt a destinys child reunion or an intmate evening with chris brown.. its PRINCE.. an icon... ive always wanted 2 see him up close and personal. its one of thoes things u have 2 experience and if it cost that much, so be it.. this is a small gathering so anything can happen... now when he goes on tour, im sure ticket prices willbe back to $31.21... be happy... during musicology his "after show" tickets to house pf blues were $500 and sold out everynight (my sister went to one and he actually sang darling nikki). sorry but whatever it takes to get there, i will get there because i dont want to be saying " what if..." a year from now.. i actually work in hollywood 2 blocks from the roosevelt hotel and everyone has been talking about this. so i understand if people dont want 2 pay.. but trust and believe hollywood blvd. will be shut down this summer!

This is really sad..... I mean doesn't Prince
know that alot of his HARD CORE long time fans are now
between 35 ~ 45 ... we have house payments, kids,
car payments etc.. we can't shell out that kind of
dough for ONE show.. (and dinner) come on.....
Get back to the awesome shows you put on in 2004 that
we all could afford and enjoy.. and get the NPG music
club back so we can GET good seats..

Well Prince is ghetto when it comes to the welfare of his fans.
He just wants more money and more money. He doesn't care about anything else.

well I did send my request for 4 nights.. yeah call me crazay... it's not uncommon to have to send CC info by email, the roxy often does that too..

in any case I used the alternative email address from thompsonhotel site:

Ticket and VIP package requests will be serviced via email a
reserveprince@thompsonhotels.com

seemed like it's a reservation line...

now the wait begins.. ONLY 70 STANDING ROOM TICKETS ;(((

Most credit card companies caution you not to send a credit card number by any means that isn't encrypted, and a standard email is about the most unencrypted way you can send it. Any business who takes credit cards but doesn't go to the trouble of protecting their customers (and in this case, actively telling them to engage in an activity that puts their info at risk) should be run out of business.

i guess not $312.01 cause people are and will still pay for it. i guess we will know how much is too much when no one buys a single ticket. but as of now, these prices aren't too much cause folks, including me are waiting for a response to see when and if we are going

if u can go, that's super...if u have 2 make sacrafices (without being immoral) great, all those who attend - much respect- u work hard and are deserving....and there is not a need for anyone to make excuses as to why they cannot attend, I (and I believe all those here at the org) understhand - and I have much respect for understanding your priorities. I wish I could attend, but I have other obligations that prevent me from attending...peace

my aunt just called again about tickets and they said that Prince originally requested tickets be $75 and only contest winners get VIP but the hotel wanted to pay PRince his cut out of sales and since this isnt really being promoted by promoters the raised the price to pay him his fee. so although he is making up all the concert rules, it still is a business.
