Your GF died on xmas day? eek

The 26th to be exact and we were married by then, but yeah, that's what happened.

Damn, that's dirty sad

IDK how long it's been but maybe you don't have to remember it every year?

I tend to try and remember those anniversaries every decade, not year. I don't need to associate any given part of a year to any given event, given that there are many years and many events and if you start doing that then year after year the calendar would become loaded with past events.

Right. And the decades go by so fast too. Focus on the happy times not the bad times. And olny be around true friends not fake friends/family.

That's the kind of thing you'll never forget. I'm okay, I got over it and even around Christmas I can still have a good time, but even when I see a thread like this, it's the first thing I think about.

I think it has to do with the individual way we build our memories. It doesn't work like that at all with me. Which doesn't mean I forget. Just that it's not targeted by yearly anniversaries. The way we construct memories is quite a fascinating topic.

Until 11 years ago when I was still in the relationship with my first boyfriend and we used to collect pengions made of all kind of materials and that was the season when we would find them every where I used to love the christmas season. Ever since it just makes me sad neutral .

I am just more happier. That is why I listen to music all day sometimes. Capricorns get moody.

I'm similar to you. I notice that music is just a soundtrack for some people but music really gets deeply into me.

My favorite Christmas album will always be The Little Drummer Boy by the Harry Simeon Chorale.

Are you looking forward to Christmas? its come round quick again. What do you get up to on the day?

The commercial build-up and pressure people feel leading up to this day is herd-mentality insanity. That's without going into the BS 'religious' and Coca-Cola perversions. The best days of the year are unbranded, unmarketed and unexpected and not controlled by any religious-corporate gatekeeper whores or so-called non-profits.

Every day of the year has been claimed by one of these self-serving whores and the best way out of it is to not participate in any of their BS.

The best thing about the end of year is spending more time with others and spending no money on any of them for 'expected' gifts on the 25th, nor expecting any gifts from them on the day. Nor ever mentioning the Herd Words 'Happy Christmas' or 'Merry Christmas'.

Ignoring it all by just living another day without pressures or expectations for the most overhyped day of the year. We should all make our own special events throughout the year with zero influence of Gatekeepers and Profiteers and Social Engineers.

.

creating traditions with people who may or may not be there the next year always seem not good to me. I never did it. I made my own, and if they had there own, then we could appreciate each others.
Like appreciating someone elses christmas tree. But I have my own.

Did you like them before you met him?

I like when people take what means they have and their personalities to reflect the holidays.

More examples of people not being caught up in the craziness.
