I'm trying not to. I'm always trying not to.
So about 4-5yrs ago, I had Christmas fever. I had 2 trees, I had outside lights, Christmas was in every room of the house like when I was young. I was buying quality Christmas albums, going on ornament hunts. Man it was horribly wonderful. And I was looking for ways to draw it out. I did the 7 Fishes / 7 Kings celebration and I also make New Years more prominent. I had parties and gathers for the whole month. After I finally let it go(it seemed a lot of people were having a hard time letting it go that year. I was watching to see when other people in the neighborhood took down their trees and they just weren't lol. But when it was finally over, I told myself I need a fix until then. So I do the Patriotic months big, but I thought why not hook it up for the Harvest-Thanksgiving season. I bought some cool glass pumpkins and straw/wood/metal pumpkins and some cool decorations themed for Thanksgiving, and it is helping me keep Christmas at Bay.
But 2 week ago I did see a Christmas album by Eric Clapton and bought it. So it is trickling in slowly lol

I like Eric Clapton. When I took guitar class almost 20 years ago, I played "Tears in Heaven" for midterm.

OldFriends4Sale, two christmas trees. Are you a Gemini, Sag, Pisces,Virgo? Those signs like two of everything and tend to give people two gifts.

I can't wait for Christmas. Watching bad movies, nothing but crap on the radio, having to spend time with my bitch of a sister. It's the most wonderful time of the year Lol. The funny thing is, even though I complain about it a lot, I do genuinely love Christmas. I don't have any particular traditions. I seem to do something different every year. Which I suppose is a tradition in itself. I won't be cooking this year though. My fiancé is taking care of that. Which is just as well. Last year I almost burned down the house. There's still scorch marks on the ceiling.

I only have 1 Christmas gift to get and that's the name I get in the draw from the family (which isn't done till Thanksgiving) . Every one else's are done. Some given already! 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Yes - because I work in a company for which Christmas sales are make or break. It is CRAZY here from November 1 to December 21 (when the final orders go out), so I am always thrilled when Christmas gets here and things quiet down. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

There are a lot of decorations that I wouldn't/couldn't do myself, but I love the way they look, especially when it's someone else's Christmas fantasy

Yes, a few. I may even go to church mass this year. In Italian, it sounds better! I need to start speaking Italian again.

I've read that Christmas isn't as big a deal in the USA as it is in UK ... is that the case? www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

that's cool. I've never been to a Christmas Mass. I thought about going to one last year.
To hear it in Latin or Italian would be Glorioso!! These are a few of my Thanksgiving pieces around the house and the glass dark blue xMas tree I just bought lol [Edited 11/8/18 9:38am]

I don't know about that. I think it's pretty big in the US. . people still have whole blocks of street homes decorated and lit. People go on drives through neighborhoods to look at the lights decorations. Lots of events centered around the holidays. . I hear you. I learned you have to really dedicate yourself to holding onto that 'magic' the innocence of the holidays. I see so many people get overrun by the overbloated expressions that numb people. . It's hard, but I try to stay away from foods that I enjoy for certain holidays and seasons whether it is the Memorial Day or the 4th of July / Summertime, Thanksgiving foods or Christmas Even when it comes to office parties (looks like we are going to be forced to go to a new Bureau Christmas Party this year) I seek out people who are happy and enjoy the season. . My parents really spoiled us for Christmas growing up. The whole house smelled like Christmas. . . Classic Christmas cartoons STILL lol, especially Charlie Browns(my brothers and I always call each other to remind each other when a cartoon is on tv) Christmas, cheesy Christmas movies, small gatherings for the month.. instead of putting everything on that 25th day. Sometimes I do a Cmas eve party
