I do think home cooking will allow the Cavs to save face at Quicken, for one game.

It would take Bron averaging 40 with a triple-double and 3 other Cavs shooting lights out for 2 weeks to beat GSW. Their defenders are far worse/mismatched than HOU's. GSW simply can't be beat by CLE.

Call me crazy but I think the Cavs got a shot at this, only because everyone thinks this is a landslide.

Of course if you put a gun to my head I'd pick the Warriors though

I just want to see a good series. The Cavs definitely wasted a golden opportunity.

A good game marred by Draymond Green being an ass as usual.

That was a bad call on Tristan Thompson at the end. He just made a play for the ball on

Livingston but he can't be drawn into foolishness from Green. I think the Cavs will make this

a good series just based on how well James has played in the postseason but the Warriors just

have too many weapons and good shooters. Tristan may hear from the league for his swipe at

Green but the ref should be held accountable for the terrible call throwing Tristan out the game

for a routine foul. Nothing remotely was fragrant.

The NBA Finals

Game 1

Cleveland Cavaliers 114 Golden State Warriors 124 F/OT

This was the beginning of Round 4 between these two teams seeking an NBA Championship, and despite the Golden State Warriors being more vulnerable this season than they have been the past three seasons, they are the prohibitive favorites to win their third NBA title in four years. Even with Lebron James, the consensus among experts and fans alike is that the Cleveland Cavaliers have a remote chance at best of winning an NBA title. If they do manage to surprise the world and win the NBA Finals, they will need a herculean effort for the ages from Lebron James plus some inspired effort from his supporting cast and maybe some really subpar performances or some misfortune to befall the Warriors.

Neverthless the Cavs came out of this game surprisingly strong, jumping out to a 13 point lead. Part of that was due to the poor shooting by Golden State from behind the 3-point line. But one of the highlights from the field was Stephen Curry, who hit five 3-pointers in this game including one from near half-court to tie the game at the half. The second half wopuld see the game go back and forth, with Lebron James having another game for the ages while Kevin Durant and the Splash Brothers kept pace. Lebron James scorred a playoff career-high 51 points in this game while also grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out eight assists. Kevin Love scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds whie J.R. Smith added 10 points.

But the trajectory of this game was decided in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. While Lebon and Stephen Curry went back and forth like prize fighters in the final minute of the game, it was the foul on George Hill with 4.7 seconds remaining that turned the tide. The Warriors were clinging to a one point lead before that foul, and after George Hill hit his first free throw to tie the game, he missed the second, and J.R. Smith grabbed the rebound and inexplicably began dribbling the ball away from the basket, apparently not aware the game was tied. By the time Lebron was trying to call a timeout, Smith passed the ball back inside, but it was too late to make a shot to win the game, thus sending the game into overtime.

The Warriors took control in the overtime period, playing stifiling defense and getting some timely shots from Shaun Livingston and Draymond Green. Things even got ugly towards the end, as Tristan Thonpson was ejected from the game with 2.6 seconds remaining in overtime and even got into a scuffle with Draymond Green. The Warriors managed to survive some poor performances early to pull out this hard-fought victory. Stephen Curry finished with 29 points, nine assists, and six rebounds; Kevin Durant finished with 26 points, nine rebounds, and six assists; Klay Thompson scored 24 points, and Draymond Green scored 13 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out nine assists, made five steals, and blocked three shots. For the Warriors it was a huge scare, but for the Cavs it was a game they desperately need to win that they let get away from them.

Golden State leads series 1-0.

You can always count on JR to make a bonehead play, but Hill deserves some heat too. You HAVE to nail both free throws. Cavs had their chance and blew it.

Any illegal contact, such as throwing an elbow, pushing or punching is an offensive foul. The offensive player cannot gain an advantage through illegal contact, like an illegal screen. A player setting a screen must remain still and in position. In addition, the NBA rulebook specifies the rules for offensive fouls that are not elbowing, punching or flagrant fouls. The rulebook says the offensive team gets no points and the offending player gets a personal foul, but the team does not get a team foul, according to NBA.com. The exception to the rule is if the offensive foul occurs after the ball has gone in the hoop. The offensive player is still charged with a foul, but the basket counts. This usually occurs after the ball has gone in, and the offensive player is coming down out and lands on a defensive player who has maintained his position. THEY NEVER CALL THIS AGAINST LEBRON.

Gray, you keeping score at home now? You got a foul ticker going? the Cavs drew a ton of physical contact on shots down the stretch last night without a call.

On the flip side, the NBA rules have been relaxed on charge v. block outside the restricted area. Tons of players draw charges while still sliding their feet to standing position. That was such a bang-bang call that they never should have reversed it under those circumstances.

As to the rule, GSW doesn't set screens, they run-block like John Hannah.

Cleveland Cavaliers 103 Golden State Warriors 122

This Cleveland Cavaliers had a huge opportunity to pull one of the biggest upsets in the NBA Finals in game 1, yet it got away from them. Most people have been focusing on J.R. Smith and his apparent brain cramp at the end of the fourth quarter, but then again George Hill did miss the second free throw that would have put the Cavs up by one. In addition, a lot of people have blamed the referees for making a questionable reversal on an offensive foul called on Kevin Durant that was eventually changed to a blocking foul on Lebron James. Nevertheless, the Cavs blew a golden opportunity, and many wondered whether they had any chance of bouncing back from this debacle.

In this game the Cavs never really got a chance to come back. The Golden State Warriors came out of this game on fire, hitting their first seven shots from the field, en route to shooting 57% fom the floor in this game. The Warriors never trailed in this game, yet the Cavs would try to keep it close. Despite hitting nearly 80% from the field in the first quarter, the Cavs only trailed by four at the end of the first frame. But Warriors would pull away in the second quarter, and from then on it was a case of the Warriors jumping out to a double digit lead only to have the Cavs cone back within striking distance.

But every time the Cavs would get close, Stephen Curry would take over. He hit an NBA Finals record nine 3-pointers in this game, finishing with 33 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds. Kevin Durant came back from a relatively poor perfomance in game 1, scoring 26 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and dishing out seven assists. Klay Thompson overcame an ankle injury from game 1 to score 20 points. Javale McGee got the start in the post tonight and scored 12 points on perfect 6 for 6 shooting while Shaun Livingston scored 10 points off the bench.

Lebron James led the Cavs with 29 points while also dishing out 13 assists and grabbing nine rebounds. Kevin Love scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds George Hill added 15 points while Tristan Thompson added 11 points. However, J.R. Smith was held to just five points and could not rebound from his error in game 1.

Golden State leads series 2-0.

And the crew as a whole skirted the review rule. The only reviewable issue was whether LBJ was outside the circle. They weren't supposed to overrule the charge call, which was the one that was actually made.

You're missing the points.

The official call was a charge.

There have tons of charges called in identical circumstances in the last few years (you know that).

They improperly used replay to overturn official call when they can only review whether the player was in the restricted area.

I only care about them getting the call correct. They got it correct.

I get your point, but the reason they went 2 the tape is becuase both refs had opposite calls.
