on a related note.....I have to say that I'm pretty much done with Fear The Walking Dead.In recent weeks, they killed off two major characters: Nick and Madison. That's inexcusable, imo last season, the show really stepped up and had their most exciting season yet,but now they're making all these dumb moves and killing off major characters, smh.I'm out. |

I think I'll be done with it when Rick goes. I think it's jumped the shark already anyway. |

the tone of the trailer seems way different than the other seasons. Maybe it is how it was cut... but I am not sure about this. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!" |

I like the trailer, got me excited for the new season.
Hearing that Andy Lincoln is leaving (with rumours that Norman Reedus and Lauren Cohen are going as well) I now think that killing Carl was the start of one of two things ... they're either moving towards wrapping the show up, or they're mutating TWD in to something different, possibly a new spin-off with the main TWD cast members that remain.
Its too much of a departure from the comics not having Carl and Rick in it, so these seem like the only options now. Personally I hope season 9 is the beginning of the end. What I'd love to see is Rick complete Negan's redemption by having him help in defeating an even more dangerous enemy. Rick then walks in to the sunset a'la Shane (1953), soundtracked by Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt, leaving a redeemed Negan in charge |

I keep hearing rumors that Lauren Cohen (Maggie) is leaving, but it hasn't been confirmed, has it? Didn't hear anything about Norman Reedus (Daryl) leaving.

yeah,it's hard to imagine this show without Rick.I mean, there are other interesting characters on the show, but Rick was the main character.Removing him changes the entire show.Don't know if these changes are gonna be good, though. |

When the producers said that season 9 would be "like a new show",it appears that they weren't kidding I think they're trying to revive the show by making it something completely different. That's a risky move, though.

interestingly, the show wanted Rick to stay, but the actor (Andy Lincoln) chose to leave because he wants to try new acting gigs and spend more time with his family in London. So in a way,the show was forced to make these changes. |

I think season 9 should probably be the last season. Im still a fan and will definately be there for season 9 but the Negan storyline drained me. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

I think its rumous with Cohen, but who knows ... eight series is a long time for anyone to do the same thing year after year so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the actors from season one and two are eyeing the door.
Reedus came out last week and said he made a pact with Andy Lincoln in series 3 that when Lincoln leaves he'd leave with him. If he goes as well, I can't see the series surviving ... you can't remove that many leads and expect the audience to stick around. All that time you've invested in them and the producers are saying you have to start all over again ... what would be the point, so they can build your interest in new characters only to have them walk later on as well? No thanks.

Too risky IMO ... I can't see it working. The reason people fell in love with TWD wasn't the zombies or the apocalypse, they've both been done hundreds of times before ... it was the characters and the people playing them. Remove them and it'll become just another piece of generic zombie fiction.
If Lincoln forced their hand by saying he wants out AMC should have told the writers and producers to wrap the show up, go out with one last awesome season; the content is there ... do the Whisperers, redeem Negan, happy ever after. They haven't got the balls to kill their cash cow though, they'd rather wring every last dime out of it while they can. Profit over art.

The question of Rick's departure is will he die or just leave? I am thinking he will leave... so he could come back in the end... "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!" |

Also the fact Danai was is in a couple of blockbuster movies this year, I can definately see her exiting the show to pursue more opportunities on the big screen. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

yeah,I feel the same way.I would hate for them to kill him off. They should just have him leave and go to some other community. That way,he could always be brought back for the final episode. |

It could very well be their last season.I guess a lot depends on how the ratings are after Rick’s departure.I expect a lot of people to stop watching. On a related note....’Fear The Walking Dead’ has just been renewed for a fifth season. |
