That's a matter of subjective opinion, which is fine. But it's not borne out by the facts. In 2017-2018, LeBron was second in the league in assists, while being in the top 3 in assists percentage.

He was in the top 10 in assists 3 of his 4 seasons with Cavs 2.0.

So I'll see your subjective opinion and raise you one -- Jordan was surrounded by better talent, and more consistent shooters. THAT's the real difference.

Lol.........Go talk to Jordan's ex-teammates.............then go talk to Lebrons.

Get back 2 me......

Lebron has 4-8 HOF / Allstar level teammates.

How many does does have? 2

Wade, Bosh, Allen, Irving, Love, IT.............better than all of Joradn;s teammates not named Pippen & Rodman.

[Edited 7/9/18 14:46pm]

lol Gray, how could you even say this knowing Jordan punched two of his teammates in practice and threatened to break the legs of another?

You act like LBJ played with all these guys at the same time. Plus, you're counting a well-past-his-prime Ray Allen and I-freaking-T? Come on man. In his first run, Jordan teamed with Pip and Horace Grant and a deep roster. In his second run, Jordan teamed with Pip and Rodman and a deep roster.

So, like Jordan, James teamed with a HOF talent and an All-Star Level talent in first title run.

In his second title run, James teamed with 2 likely HOFers. Just like MJ.

Tell me you'd take the supporting casts of any of the Heat or Cavs over those of any of the Bulls' rosters. I need another good laugh today.

Let the hate go!

Am I missing something? Did anyone here say LeBron James was greater than Michael Jordan? He's not on Jordan's level, but he's one of the top 10 best NBA players of all time.

I wouldn't call that first Bulls Championship roster "deep", not when Bill Cartwright, Will Purdue, Stacey King and Scott Williams are getting major minutes biggrin

Now those Showtime Lakers teams or those Celtics teams in the 80's I would classify as deep

Isaiah Thomas signs with Denver.

Jimmy Butler turned down a four year, $110mil extension from Minnesota.....smart move. He can make more next year, plus he's supposedly frustrated with the younger players, especially KAT. No need to committ long term.

Nets traded Isaiah Whitehead to the Nuggets for Faried, Arthur & picks. They also traded Jeremy Lin to the Hawks.

Luc Mbah a Moute to the Clippers.

Jabari Parker's going to sign with the Bulls.

Jimmy Butler was smart to hold off and make more money but he's not the superstar he thinks he is. KAT is the future of that franchise.

But Jimmy P doesn't feel the young cats know what it takes to win.....sometimes I wonder too when I see KAT drifting to the 3-point line when he has a smaller man on him.

Are you watching the BIG3 tournament? I'm enjoying it more than I thought. I like watching cats I never heard of....where did David Hawkins come from?

Butler has a point but he's fighting a losing battle in MIN because KAT has the higher ceiling. I undertstand his frustrations with the game but KAT is looking to do what the bigs in his era are doing.

I've heard he wants to play with Kyrie, which mystifies me if he has trouble with mercurial guys (Rose, KAT).

Hadn't watched any Big3 yet, but mayble I'll catch some.

Kawhi Leonard was traded to the Raptors for DeMar DeRozan. Other players are involved too - Danny Green goes to the Raptors; the Spurs get Jakob Poeltl and a protected first-round pick..

GIANT win for the Spurs. I wouldn't take Kawhi Leonard on my team if HE paid ME to play there. He's a malcontent who quit on his teammates last year. Plus. it's been reported that Leonard does not want to play in Toronto; that he only wants to play for the Lakers. But he isn't a free agent for another year, and the Spurs and Lakers couldn't agree to a trade (I guess). I bet there's already a betting pool out there for how many games Leonard plays before quitting on the Raptors, too.

Look at how far the Raptors have fallen since the season ended. They fired the Coach of the Year; they traded their best player; and they received in return a quitter who was despised by his teammates. Ouch.

I'm surprised anyone wants Kawhi Leonard. There is no greater player's coach than Pop, and no better player's organization than the Spurs. If you can't get along there, you are a bad teammate.

First of all, SAS got a good deal. They got a young All-Star who they can plug and play, and seems to be a good fit with the roster and the organization. This will help DeRozan's brand as well.

That said, you're being FAR too hard on Kawhi. You don't know how badly he was hurt; the guy suffered a serious injury thanks to a truly dirty play from Zaza Pachulia in the playoffs. And his own teammates insulted him after begging him to come back. He's not a camera hound, he just carried a grudge.

The Spurs mishandled him. Pop tried to handle the kid the way he handled star players in the past, but this kid was different. He had Tony Parker insult Kawhi's injury, but Kawhi knew TP was speaking for Pop and didn't forgive it. So by the time Pop tried to mend fences it was too late.

Kawhi wasn't the first star to force a trade, and that doesn't make him a quitter, especially when the Spurs did not play their hand well.

You simply can't question the integrity and toughness of a Finals MVP and expect him to stick around. The Spurs thought they could get away with it, and were lucky to basically get 75 cents on the dollar.

Leonard has great potential. I just think he needs to mature a little more. I hope you are wrong and he doesn't quit or it could severely ruin his career. I do feel bad for DeMar. He has been great for our city and the Raptors. We will miss him a lot. He has indicated he was lied to by the Raptors head office and I don't doubt it. It's all about the money.

The Spurs got a nice deal 4 a guy that wanted out.

No way he stays in Canada past next season. He is now in the highest tax bracket in the NBA and out of a state (Texas) with no state taxes.

I'm not so sure. It's off the radar relative to other NBA markets, unlike San Antonio, the Raptors aren't the only pro team in town, and if he doesn't like a media circus, he could get comfortable there. TOR may be thinking that if Paul George could re-up in OKC and reject LA, a guy like Leonard may do the same with the Raptors.

If the Lakers are out of the running, that means that Jerry West, the greatest GM in my lifetime in any sport (and under-credited architect of the current Golden State team), will have a clearer shot to land him. I like his chances.

Maybe. I just know that the Spurs are 180 miles up the road, so we get a lot of Spurs news. In the whole history of the Popovich-led Spurs, I can't recall any Spurs player reacting like Leonard did - to anything, ever. And make no mistake - his teammates BEGGED him to play this year. He wasn't hurt, he just quit. They all knew it, too.

If you can't play for Gregg Popovich, you probably can't play for anyone.

I acknowledged that above. I love Popovich more than any other coach of any rival franchise I root against. But he also had a once-in-a-generation superstar in terms of ego and humility in Tim Duncan who set the tone. You can't expect that the superstars to follow will be the same.

SAS has had their problems with the new guys. Aldridge wanted out, but Pop did the right thing in going to him directly and smoothing things over.

He played a different, dangerous game with Kawhi by using Tony Parker as his messenger to claim he was faking his injury or otherwise wasn't tough enough to play through it.

You don't do that to your franchise player and expect them to stick around, even when the messenger (Parker) left SAS (to, IMO, take the hit for being the messenger to help Pop salvage Kawhi).

I have a lot of respect for Pop on and off the court, but he had a hand in messing this up.

I don't know if it's a big win for the Spurs...DeRozan showed in the Cavs series he's not a 'superstar'. But maybe Pop can get more out of him.

Could this whole situation have been handled better? Maybe, but Pop treats his players like grown-ass men, which is the way it should be. Have to say I'm disappointed in Kawhi's behavior.

Scott Williams was GARBAGE! A big man with two left feet who couldn't score around the rim to save his life, and my Sixers paid that fool after he left the Bulls, I remember that bum all to well biggrin

Hopson was big let down, he barley played in the second half of the regular season or in the playoffs, Hodges took his minutes if memory serves me right. He was traded for Bobby Hansen the next season biggrin

Levingston was a solid role player, he played his role well for that team

Of course they would beat those LBJ Heat & Cavs squads, but with those 80's Lakers & Celtics squads they would've had a hard time with because they weren't as deep as those squads.

BTW I'm only talking about the 90-93 Squad, that 95-98 squad was what I consider deep

You don't do that to your franchise player and expect them to stick around, even when the messenger (Parker) left SAS (to, IMO, take the hit for being the messenger to help Pop salvage Kawhi).

I have a lot of respect for Pop on and off the court, but he had a hand in messing this up.

Maybe the Spurs messed it up but if they did, it's news to me. Parker said a week or so ago that his comments were not meant to disparage Leonard or his injury.

This is an organization that nursed a guy through a kidney transplant, and brought him back; in fact, they retired Sean Elliott's number. Hard to believe they'd manage that like a champ, but screw up a quad injury.

Anyway, the deal's done. I think it makes the Spurs better, which as a Rockets fan is not what I want, LOL.

Popovich is incredible. I can't remember who it was, but a few years back an established NBA player went to the Spurs. In practice, they ran a play and he scored a basket. Pop called him over and said, "Who scored that basket?" The player said, "I did, Coach". Pop pointed at him and the rest of the team and said, "No - WE scored that basket". The player said a light bulb went on in his head and he then understood how the Spurs were so good year after year.

So however good DeRozan can actually be, I think he'll reach that level under Pop.

This just in from Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter;

"Oklahoma City has agreed to trade Carmelo Anthony and a protected 2022 first-round pick to Atlanta for point guard Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala, league sources tell ESPN. Anthony will be waived, and he will join team of his choice. Rockets are frontrunner."

LOL @ Houston.

I say that because it's relative to LBJ's title teams and the era they played in. That's why CHI '91-'93 carried so many bigs (Scott Williams was better than you're making him out to be).

They had athletic guys like Hopson and Levingston to defend and run the floor, and a deeper arsenal of shooters (Armstrong, Hodges, Paxson).

But surely you don't think the Heat or Cavs teams that won titles with LBJ were deeper than CHI '91-'93, which was the main point.

Exactly.

I figured Pop wouldn't trade Kawhi to the Lakers or any Western conference squad, that would've been dumb, if he wants to go to LA make him do it in the summer when he's a free agent!

Does DeRozan's game fit the Spurs? Will he come in and make a postive impact or will he be a bust like Richard Jefferson was when he was a Spur?

I'm really looking forward to this season!

Sad! sad

How was the relationship between Melo and D'Antoni when D'Antoni coaced him with the Knicks? There was a passing reference in today's Houston newspaper that it may not have been great.

On the plus side, Dennis Schroder and I have the same last name. I wish he'd be a Rocket just once, so I could get an NBA jersey with my name on the back of it, LOL.

Williams could defend, rebound and run the floor. He wasn't Nowitzki, and that's what Jordan's Bulls needed. I believe MJ is the GOAT because he won 6 O'Briens WITHOUT a dominant big man, which historically is an anomaly.

But remember -- we weren't talking about the Lakers and Celtics squads, which are among the greatest of all-time. I think the '86 Celtics or '87 Lakers would have beaten any of LBJ's or MJ's teams.

The discussion was LBJ's rosters v. MJ's rosters. And even MJ's '91-'93 rosters were better than any of LBJ's Finals rosters.
