Nah, time for a break I had some extra time lately so I decided to post. It is too frustrating for me right now. This site gives Americans a bad name to ppl outside of this country.

I have a son that is American and English. He is pretty damn awesome because he is a mix of two great countries. Time to focus on the good, this place is far to negitive right now.

Blackface in the US has a long history of making black Americans look like fools and lesser human beings. It was used to put a group of people in "their" place. Therefore making it a hyper sensitive subject with many Americans.

Having said that, I don't believe Dave understood that in part or fully. He just recklessly put that picture out. So, this is a teaching moment to those who don't understand what blackface means.

Perhaps some orgers could express their emotions about blackface and what it represents to them. So people who do not know, can learn.(And keep Dave out of your discussion-It's a teaching moment-not a rehash of what happenend here.)

The pictures of homogenized young people that are supposed to present "cultures" are quite disturbing too. The slogan itself reflects a confused view on what the concepts of culture and race stand for. Judged by the reactions these ads have gotten on the net it just seems like a badly designed campaign for a decent cause.

At least 2 out of the 3 pictures the students are holding in their hands in the linked images above can be considered offensive (the Mexican one is debatable), but you seem to have left out the one that misses its target pretty damn badly:
