You know I'm sure I pounced because I know how one can get so huge. Most of the time they slip into a depression and instead of drugs, gambling, whatever, they eat. Everyone has a vice, everyone.
But at this point I can say that I really just agree to disagree with you. I think your feelings on the subject are a little assanine, but I can just disagree.

I live in the South. In Georgia, not the country, but the state! It's the FATTEST region of the US. Southerners love to eat and eat fried, buttered, greasy morsels of food! Some places you go to eat don't have a thing remotely healthy on the menu but Diet Coke!
I hike up Kennesaw Mountain at least every Saturday morning only. It's an hour long hike sized mountain.
It's all good! I can be hyper-sensitive to the topic. I'll admit.

Wow, that's so cool...Georgia looks like a lo vely region from what I've seen.
I've been lucky enough to do two tours in the US, one around the East (New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, Niagra) and one in the West (Arizons, Grand Canyon, Vegas, LA, San Francisco) and its my favourite place ever! I loved being on the road out there. I couldn't get over how large the open spaces were and the massive areas of woodland, desert, etc...you really could head off on your own adventure if you wanted!
Oh, and the food I had over there was delicious (if a bit unhealthy, but hey, we were on holiday! ) We're hoping to go back and do the south east corner soon, so hopefully we'll get to Georgia then and maybe even Kennesaw Mountain! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Umm these women are overweight. Not saying they're not beautiful but not overweight? You know it's not even about health as yes, anyone and everyone gets sick. It’s simply about living life. I've never reached the weight of these girls in the photoshoot but even at my heaviest there was a remarkable difference in how much effort it took me to do things. Walking up the stairs, doing the housework, my job etc. Once I lost the extra few kilos nothing felt like an effort. Obviously this won’t be true for the girls that starve themselves thin. But when you truly live a healthy lifestyle eating small portions and exercising regularly, the simple things in life are so much more fulfilling. And honestly every single big person I know lives an unhealthy lifestyle. And yes I know many thin people do too (and I have issues with smokers and other health hazards as well) but if you naturally have a tendency to store weight more than usual it just a fact of life that you have to work harder to keep it off (I accept I’m one of these people, there are other people that struggle with acne and other things that I dont have to). Honestly though I don’t truly care if big people have no inclination to do simple things more easily. I’m just saying why I like being smaller weight. [Edited 7/30/10 6:48am]

I thought everyone agreed that they were overweight. The issue was, are they seen as beautiful despite their size?
Oh, and the mindset that obese people are all sloths is just wrong. I am obese and I can move. I know some may have physical issues, but that is not one I have despite being 215 lbs. I am on medication (steroids) for asthma, I feel healthier now than I did when I was slender ironically. I am trying to lose weight now, but not through dieting. I just am trying to wean myself off these damn steroids and keep eating healthy foods in smaller portions.
I just have an issue with people assuming that all fat people aren't active at all and eat junk because they don't care about themselves. You just don't know that until you know WHY someone has gaind weight in the first place.

It might depend more on their regional/cultural background because the diets differ depending on where you come from. Insofar as my Asian sistahs, I always see a marked difference between Japanese, Chinese, Fillipino, and Thai, with my Japanese homegirls tending to be thinnest (as the basis of their diet not only includes white rice, but brown rice, buckwheat noodles, and endless seaweed, fish, naked veggies). My Filipino girls, though...they got some hips on them, Chile

I'm a fattie by any standard, and I have no problem finding people who want to date/fuck/love me. I'm confident, I take good care of myself. . . I'm attractive.
People just don't like to admit it when they're into big girls. But lots are. "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-to-English dictionary?"

There are many reasons why some guys date/fuck big girls. That's all I'm gonna say.

The one who is currently dating me says it's because I'm the woman of his dreams and he loves me and thinks I'm hot.
But I'm sure there are many other possible reasons as well. "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-to-English dictionary?"

It's not a holiday for most Americans! I'm assuming that's why other countries are now facing an obesity issue too? KFC, Piaa Hut, McDonald's and all our other spoils are accross the globe now.
THere is so much variation in the US and it's a shame most people most likely won't see all of it. I mean right now I'd rather go on a European holiday than the States. I should want to do both!

I just finished my legs set and hiked a trail today. And I'm a chunk! been a chunk all my life and played basketball, vollyball, shot and discuss. But always was a chunk. So the misconception is SO untrue.

I like a woman with a little meat on her bones. More cushion for the pushin' I always say. But, having said that, it doesn't mean I want anything like this:

^^^^ Now this here, I think mobility is an issue. I am fat and sport an apron of flesh but I can still move. I feel worried for some who get so depressed that they stop moving, this can be extremes to this also, extremely emaciated women don't move that much at all either, and in both extremes it should be a call to action set in place for loved ones to help them.
I only knew one woman that big, she didn't leave her house at all. So no one saw her, her kids would buy her tons of fast food and brought it to her bedside. She was my mom's friend, she died shortly after gaining 100 pounds after having bypass surgery one year before. Being fat didn't kill her, depression did. She would keep telling us she didn't want to live after the death of her husband.

I was more responding to a few people at the start that said they werent overweight, not everyone. And I'm not saying all people who are overweight are sloths. My Auntie who is overweight around the upper body area is always on the go. I'm just saying the things she does would be 10 times easier to do without the weight. She has the energy to do it but I see her struggling with it simply because of the extra weight around her. Like I said 5 - 10 extra kilos slows me down by a bit, and it was literally a weight lifted off my shoulders when I lost it. I'm just trying to explain a better benefit of losing weight then just looking thin that I'd never thought about before untill it happened to me.

Ok, I see what you mean. I do want to be slim again since I miss wearing the clothesthat I used to wear when I was smaller.
Big women have fewer style options, more than before, but fewer choices than slender women. I just miss the "drape" my clothes used to have. This is why I want to lose weight. I miss the shopping.

I know exactly what you mean. It's not everyone, but the same thing happened to me. I went from a size 6 to a 14 over a few years. I know to some people that's nothing, but those 45 extra pounds were a lot for my 5'2" frame. My classroom was on the 3rd floor in a big old building; I'd get winded and have to stop on the 2nd landing- and forget it if I was carrying books and things. My ankles were swollen, my knees hurt, my blood pressure was high, and I was pre-diabetic. My doctor put me on a diet. Now I hover between a 6 and 8 (closer to 8)... and I feel much better.

She's gorgeous!
I had the "pretty mom" too. I was always so proud when she would come to school because all the kids were shocked at how pretty she was. The catty frumps on the PTA were real bitchy to her though.
