They are beautiful and their curves are in all the right places........they look healthy
But to be honest... Obesity turns me off in Men and Women
And what i hate most is when i see kids, and their parents r giving them KFC and they can't walk because they are obese

Some of those women are at the upper end of 'medium' weight though, and are probably being labeled overweight models just to counter balance the gazelle like girls that grace normal catwalks.
Many of these women still have figures that you'd have to work very hard to get (and I'm assuming they photoshopped some of these figures to).
The ones in the dark jeans actually have fuckable bodies and hips that are.....erm....delicous looking.
I wonder what the original photograph looks like.

Winner of a UK modeling show has put the catwalk modeling industry to the test. Jen Hunter (5' 11", 154 lbs) won the "Make Me a Supermodel" show in 2006 - despite being criticized for being too fat.
Many people applauded her win. Last year a magazine writer asked:
Although [Hunter] triumphantly overcame the judges remarks and abuse, can she really break into the fashion world? Answer: No. '
Jen Hunter recently quit the agency and joined plus-size agency Excel Models. "[...] when I went into castings I saw very few size 12 models and came up against the same old prejudice. I just didn't feel comfortable so I decided to change to Excel Models." (source) It seems that Hunter (a UK size 12) was not acceptable for the catwalk.
It's fairly obvious that despite all the noise about fashion models being too skinny - little has changed. Only certain body shapes are acceptable for fashion modeling.
An attention-grabbing comparison I know, but below is a picture of Marianne Berglund, another finalist in the above-mentioned 2006 reality show. Both women have a right to be the size and shape they wish to be. The issue here is what is acceptable for the modeling industry and how it impacts body image perception as a whole. If Jen Hunter is plus-size then the bar of "appropriate body size" has been raised so high as to be insurmountable.
What stark contrast this is to the claim of an "over-tolerant attitude towards fatness". "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

It's said that most of the female population (at least in the US) is what would be considered Plus-sized (in modeling/mags). There is always a lot of griping about the fashion and entertainment industries promoting unattainable standards of beauty. I happen to have great admiration for curves and used to be a lot more sympathetic to this. I say "used to be" because for as long as I can remember there's always been a whole lot more complaining than action.
Like with any other enterprise, all these industries want is your hard earned $$$$.
When will women realize that they actually do have the power to change and demand?
But no, god forbid we stop buying Vogue for a season or two.
I love when pieces/features like this come up. Like a few months back Vogue launched Vogue Curvy and I was all . But realistically, these things come out and are soon forgotten. They end up being more novelty than they really should.

Wow, the men who had sex me sure did not feel that way... I wonder why in every discusson about not skinny women the skinny ones have to be ridiculed. Why can't people just accept that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes? With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! The thing is.. all these pictures are still photoshopped. If you are gonna give us models of all sizes then give us some honesty too. This to me just says... "look we can make overweight beauty appear unobtainable to the masses too".

Those women are fine looking ladies....but again as other people have said, the photos have been photoshopped still. So you have to ask whether what was removed would affect how attractive they actually are? Possible stretch marks may have been removed and other such things. They are also under a ton of mark up and hair product, so again is this really what these women look like?
The sad thing is, they would still be considered good looking ladies without all this tinkering!
Having said that, there is a fine line. Saying bigger women are still hot is fine, alot of them are....but ladies, don't take that as permission to never get off the sofa ever again, to never hit the gym, to live off crap food, etc. Aside from the lardy implications your actual health could be at risk!
Case in point, with the summer here in the UK you wouldn't believe the amount of size 18 plus ladies shoe-horning themselves into size 10 or 12 clothes and sweating themselves around town (UK sizes here, not sure what the US equivalent is). Honey, that's not a good look.
I think size 14 or 16 is fine, 18 (unless you're super tall) or up and its not good...more to the point its probably damaging your health. www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

If you charted their BMIs, almost all of them would be considered “overweight” by the Centers for Disease Control. They are all attractive, absolutely. But they are all also overweight. The two aren't mutually exclusive - that's the point. |

The pics in this thread are of women with beautiful faces typical of those in high fashion. All I’m getting from this thread is that even a plus-sized model still has to look like a model if she’s going to make it in the industry.
