And It's a Wonderful Life is brilliant--but I like the second half of the movie the best. Don't wanna say anymore since you're gonna see it. You really should wait until Christmastime, though. They always show it on tv for free on NBC. If you don't live in America, you should still wait. It just goes really well with the Christmas activities and everything. You'll just love people, and you need to see a movie like that around Christmas because the holidays will make you KURAZEE!

that's a hard call, in my opinion. as a work of cinema, 'birth of a nation' is an amazing film. thematically, i know it's very controversial and it's also offensive to a lot of people. i've never seen it, so i can't make a judgment call on it. i think it's important to remember films like this, so we can remember what society used to be like, what it used to tolerate, and how far we've come and how far we've yet to go. it's like some of those old warner bros. cartoons with the racist images...i've seen some of those, and while i thought they were really terribly offensive, i'm glad i had a chance to see them because i had a chance to wrap my brain around the fact that, at one time, THIS WAS ACTUALLY ACCEPTABLE. what are we creating now that will make our children and grandchildren wince?

Its very hard to find, but its a must see. If i remember, its gorgeous to look at too. Very sad film, and reminds me unfortunately of a girl i kinda let slip away.
