As Xx always says, agree to disagree.

But, incidentally, I do marvel at the wonders your avatar must be doing for the image of black women. shrug
[Edited 4/2/06 10:47am]

What's wrong with my avatar? Am I calling her a ho or a bitch? Do you find a beautiful woman in lingerie offensive or is she offensive to YOU just because she's Black? Do you even know who the woman is? Do you even know why she's dressed like that? Better yet, if it were Pam Anderson would you think it was offensive? How about Lucy Liu? What about J-Lo?

Perspectives, my friend, this is all about perspective.

um...well...I'll just close the door to any discussion by saying that no member of the male sex could ever POSSIBLY, REMOTELY understand how degrading and objectifying such images are for women and how we must spend our entire lives fighting such images. Give me a break StoneCrib. How DARE you defend such an image, much less circulate it.

The last one--Marty, which won best picture in 1955. I only know that because it was a major plot point in a film I love--Quiz Show.

The Anthony Quin movie, I have no idea. Zorba the Greek is the only one to come to mind, but I have no idea what that is about.

The Jimmy Cagney film--White Heat, perhaps?

I'm not surprised to read immature comments like that, especially from the org, because there are some people who will never know what it's like to be the victim of racism so they truly don't care who they offend.

You're point being? DJ Spooky IS African-American and he DID choose to tour the world with Birth of A Nation. It seems you want to avoid/negate any kind of discussion by saying, "only a true african-american can truly understand the pain we african-americans feel" which means no one else can have an opinion that is valid. Sorry, I don't buy it. Especially considering your post about your avatar. oh, dear... lol

Again, what image is that? Do you care to take a shot as to who that is in my avatar? So far all I've heard is contenpt yet no ATTEMPT at trying to discuss the woman in my avatar. Don't post on things you don't know about, that's rule #1 when visiting message boards.

That's DJ Spooky's prerogative, Where did I say ALL AFRICAN-AMERICANS HAVE TO AGREE? I was speaking to Lammastide and ONLY Lammastide. And again, who's in my avatar? You don't even know yet you have an opinion about it.

Night of the Living Dead is a classic. They are in production to remake that classic right now. They are going to make it into a 3D movie!

I'm tied between "The Women" and "Mildred Pierce" for #1.

But the annual series of "Blondie" films between the late 1930's -late 1940's are also pretty dear to me wink
