Awards don't mean shit, Britney Spears' body of work is way more subtle and authentic than anything by The Beatles.

Holy crap that is even better trolling than the Flat Earth thread. Well done! I might have to put that in my signature.

I'm not into her music or anything, but there is something about Miley Cyrus that I really like boxed I like her spunkiness...her 'I-don't-give-a-fuck' attitude, and the way she's angering all the parents who thought she was a perfect role model for their teen girls during the 'Hannah Montana' days...lol....it's hilarious to me.

What? Beatles blatantly ripped off Ravi Shankar and have been butthurt ever since Beach Boys released Pet Sounds, they basically went in a studio and tried to create incoherent sounds by mixing dated baroque, chamber pop music with lyrics that basically described John Lennon's pessmistic view of life and McCartney's cheesy, corny and naive lyricism. I keep tellin' y'all, it was the cover that brought the controversy, it was new, people were too stupid to realize that a certain pop-driven era could be easily interrupted by something as Sgt. Pepper.

On the other hand, take anything by Britney Spears, say Toxic. That is the definition of a great pop song; original and isn't pretentious of anything.

I'll give you "Pepper" is as dated as a lava lamp. But it is a clutural signifyer.

I'll give the visual aspects of this arguement over to The Beatles though.

To me artists who've really changed the game video-wise that deserve the Vangaurd award are:

Tori Amos:

REM:

And of course, RadioHead:
