Someone lied to you,his lypsynch for you life was awful.

I don't really understand what you just attempted to say, but his performance for 'Can't Feel My Face' was not lip-synced.

It was live.

Miley Cyrus Surprise-Releases New Album Following VMA Performance

What I am getting out of this is that she doesn't think her album is good enough to stand on its own merits, so she had to show some boob to get people talking about her.

She continues on the slippery Shock-Jock slope that will one day (probably soon) lead to the inevitable sex tape.

She has 1,000% more vocal talent than Taylor Swift but compare these two and tell me who sells more records, and who is going to be around the longest.

No question, it's Taylor Swift on both accounts. Miley Cyrus made some really bad decisions for the long-term, IMO. She'll be done before she hits 30, and then will try to make a rebound in country music sometime around age 40, after she's blown all her money on drugs and rehab. That's my guess.

Imma Let You Finish But Kanye West Is One of the Least Video-Driven Pop Icons of All Time

It was inevitable that someday Yeezus would earn the Video Vanguard award, but are his clips up to snuff?

http://www.spin.com/2015/...ic-awards/

But neither have the past receipients. Can we honestly say with a straight face that people like Beyonce and Justin Timberlake have made groundbreaking music videos? I really don't like Britney Spears and I know a lot of people give her some flack but she at least has some memorable music videos that made a big impact during the last leg of the MTV era in the 90s. So her receiving it makes more sense than the other two imo.

I think the award has lost a lot of credibility in recent years and it is clearly an award that popularity driven. I personally think Missy Elliott should have received it before the others. Her videos are always creative and edgy.

Am I wrong for feeling embarrassed for Justin Beiber's talent-show worthy performance?

And did this winja just cry on stage a la Chris Brown.

I knew his originality was questionable but damn!

And a standing ovation? Do better audience.

The songs were good though.

>

I personally though Miley was a breathe of fresh air as host. She was funny, the clothes were bright and awful. Even the performance was the gaudy spectacle we expected, and it worked.

Biebs performed "Where are U Now" and "What Do You Mean" with inconsistent U/You placement. His next single is "What Was Up With That". I can see how one would be confused, MotownSubdivision.

Honestly I dont really get the credentials to give this award out. Groundbreaking? I don't think that term can be used for Music Video in general. Music Video is a "niche" it was something created to go along with Music already made but it in fact has ruined Music like many said it would BACK THEN, and probably us 80's Kids who loved our MJ and Prince videos we SWORE Music Video was for the better not the end. BUT it was, you can date the END way back to the first awards show, when Eddie Murphy hosted that prior he went on LETTERMAN and he said "MTV WAS SOLD, GONE" and that was it, that sale of MTV is why the snowball started, we can blame the beibers and kids like that, but you can really tie this in to that sale, that was the first step to taking value and importance away from the music and spreading it all over the place.

As for this award, its a joke, just like a list of the best all time videos and at Number 3 will be a video that came out last month (because its familiar) and number 12 will be something actually groundbreaking like "Take on Me" so lists and awards of praise like this YAWN!

There's a dark side to progress. The discovery of how creative one could be with creating a music video injected life into the music industry but at the same time opened the doors for many of the reasons people say music today sucks. It was a double edged sword just like our current situation.

"Where Are Ü Now" is actually a song by Jack Ü (Diplo x Skrillex) featuring the Biebs, so that explains the stylized Ü.

I was joshin' the Biebs. The umlaut was completely ignored by about all media dead it had to be cited as this is a Prince forum. I think both songs are with Diplo/Skrillex hence the somewhat progressive production. The house music was ok but the chick that singin's gotta go lol

that article has many contradictions. they find fault with the artists who receive the vanguard award as if they dont deserve it but who do they suggest they give them to? they wanted mtv to award artists that wasnt in any way instrumental in the video era. its not a lifetime achievement award for their music careers its for their visual body of work. i mean can anybody seriously say the beatles deserve a video vanguard award more than britney spears?

No doubt. She dances with snakes, cheerleaders, schoolgirls - she can do it all. Legendary. Those Beatles only wish Disney discovered them before they hit puberty - maybe they wouldn't have done all those drugs and all almost died by now.
