LOVE him or HATE him, Adam Levine is a LEGIT singer/songwriter/musician

He might come across as either a dick or a dork, but gotta give a credit when it's due.

1. He's a really good singer both in studio and live. When you hear him sing live he could sound as if he's autotuned. Yes he's that good live.

2. He's a good pop songwriter and has penned a number of nice pop songs eg This Love, She Will Be Loved, Sunday Morning, etc.

3. He's a legit musician, a very accomplished guitar player (he played most of the guitar solos on his album) and a good drummer.

Thoughts?

Disagree. And his singing voice is borderline "ugly." Maroon 5 started out as a wannabe rock band that wound up becoming a latter day kiddier version of Sugar Ray, targeted at the same juvenile crowd that likes Katy Perry and Rihanna.
Ryan Tedder does what Adam Levine does 5x better.

Eh... The longer he's been around, I've found Adam decreasingly interesting as a musician. I love to hear him play guitar, but his voice is grating anymore, and I find his compositions unimpressive.

He's still a cutie, though, if I ignore all of those tats.

What a great wordsmith. Andf what guitar solos? when is the last time Moron 5 had guitar solos? and even the ones they had were below Fall Out Boy & Nickelback level. And what drumming? when is the last time they didn't program drums?

He's "meh."

His guitar playing isn't that good. His voice is annoying. His songwriting is boring and full of
cliches. Speaking of cliches, he's a walking rock n' roll cliche: the tats, the clothes, the model
wife. He's definitely great for TV because he's smart and witty and photogenic, but as a pop
musician, he's completely unoriginal.

Is there a better song than Lost Stars? I'm not sure if he wrote it but he sang the shit out of it!
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Fall Out Boy's Centuries runs rings around Animals, if you're gonna compare what's on the charts.

The new single "Sugar" is quite, um, infectious. Dude is really a good guitar player especially during his turns to solo.

CynicKill

This is the one that caught me by surprise. On the surface it's nothing special but its got a sneaky, funky groove.

Do me a favor; play it loud in the car.

The latest has a little Prince feel.

This 'band' has re-enforced my view that L.A. is a cultural wasteland.

You got that right! In fact anything Fall Out Boy does trumps Moron 5! Adam's voice is nasal and whiny. He has mediocre talent and rides off his looks.

Both "Centuries" and "Animals" should be added to the list of songs the CIA allegedly uses to torture enemy combatants.

I don't know about guitars, but Ryan can sing Adam off a stage. There's no argument over who the technically better vocalist is of the two, and ain't Adam.
