Well, sometimes people get loose twists that last for a few days before you have to re-do them again. There are a few options with that look. I think Lauryn Hill had that look you're talking about back during her Miseducation album days.

Yes!! I didn't know what it was called but I love that look!

I would like to say while it is true that Jay and Bey has the free will to raise their child the way they choose, moral discretion and common sense should apply. They are public figures, and all eyes are on them. I believe that someone close to them should had an discussion with them, regarding Blue Ivy, before this public petition. No black child should walk around, looking like buckwheat, while their parents are well groomed and pampered. Believe it or not, this mess is also happening in the ghetto: children looking like they're not well cared for, while the mother has to get her hair and nails did, and the father is lining up his pockets for the next and latest style Jordans sneakers.

yes, i think this is what is so irksome about the people who are attempting make this into a "natural" vs "european look" debate. the person who started the petition maybe wasn't clear in the way she attempt to frame the discussion, but she gave voice to many people, like me, who have seen pics of the carters and their daughter and have said, what's up with the baby's hair? this is not about one pic, and people saying 'well, she looks like she just woke up'. no, blue's hair ALWAYS looks matted and unkempt. if she had looked like any of those precious little girls in the post above, i and so many others would never have thought jackshit, except, 'aww, look at her'. it is especially irksome when her mother makes a point of being on point.

There are lots of things that black people in the US should be protesting right now. High unemployment. The extreme loss of wealth. The gutting of the Voting Rights Act. Gun violence. The entire state of Florida. Yet one of the main things to dominate the news as of late is the hairstyle of a particularly famous 2-year old. It’s one of the few things I don’t think we need to worry about

In a world where a black child is born into poverty every two and a half minutes, and where the choices of all too many black families are limited, Jay and Bey are pushing the norms.
Instead of fearing what whites or other blacks would say, the Carters chose to let Blue Ivy’s hair just be at certain times. Call it entitled, call it empowering, b ut it’s a privilege that many black kids don’t have—the ability to just be.

Are you suggesting that black people aren't concerned as much about civil rights and unemployment, etc because a few people decided to start a petition? Remember that these lame-o Bonnie and Clyde Carters had a TON of publicity right before this lame tour kicked off. We have no idea who started those so-called petitions but to think that black people as a whole have dropped the ball because of celebrity nonsense is RIDICULOUS.

That is all.

I failed to see the point in what this editor is saying because while you are dealing with issues that are more important than hair, you can still comb your hair, regardless of your race and the texture of your hair.

There are idiots who think "natural" black hair means unclean, uncombed and matted up. It's an insult to people to take care of their so-called natural hair. It's like the difference between fat and full-figured. Some people are larger but wear their size very well, while others do not.

Are these people too stupid to see the contradiction between a mother having ridiculously expensive weaves, wigs and extensions but the kid has a bad appearance?

ndia Arie: Why it's Not Ok to Criticize Blue Ivy Carter's Hair

http://www.eonline.com/ne...ter-s-hair
(See photo of Beyonce kissing HER natural haired daughter "Blue Ivy.
"Blue Ivy—is a CHILD," she reiterates, telling those who might think her priviledged upbringing makes it OK to slam her to stop "DENYING any person their humanity..."
Why, India asks, should you refrain from trolling a toddler? "Because," she writes, "it's not the kind of PERSON YOU WANT TO BE."
"Why NOT be a person who is loving towards human kind as a whole AND people as individuals?" she asks. "WHY NOT be a person protects the hearts of children?"

She pointed out that "all these people making negative comments would feel the SAME WAY if Blue Ivy's hair were TOO DONE."
"being gentle with a child's hair is simply appropriate," she writes. "this goes the same for ALL children."
She signs off by reminding everyone we "ARE better than this."
And we are—and to anyone who isn't, it's time to get some manners,
zipped shut your pie hole and join the rest of us in the 21st century.

I never pictured India Arie to be an "idiot."

Perhaps I've overlooked the humor in nappy kinky hair and how it makes everyone laugh.
falloff

Yo mama's hair is so nappy, she has to take Tylenol just to comb it.
Yo mama's hair is so nappy, she uses a rake to comb it.
Yo mama's hair is nappier than a goats ass.
Yo mama's hair is so nappy, when she combs her hair her teeth bleed.
Yo mama's hair is so nappy, even Moses couldn't part it.
Yo mama's hair is so nappy, her comb had to get dentures.
Yo mama's hair is so nappy, it looks like an aerial view of the million man march. Look! There goes Farrakhan!
Yo mama's hair so short she roll her hair up with rice
Yo daughter so shamed of her natural hair 'til she beats down "blue ivy's" parents with a laptop, perm kit and straightening comb becauseu of a jaded sense of self esteem.
nay sayers of blue ivy's parents are so ashammed of their God given natural hair 'til they've overlooked that they may well be the butt of all the above "yo mama/daughter jokes.
You so into putting down blue ivy's parents 'til you've (seemingly) become the unkwown inspiration of all the above.
Yo daughter so shammed of her kinky hair 'til she rather spend her money on weaves and perm kits than put money aside for her children's education.
Yo daughter hates her natural hair so much 'til she sleeps with a light on so she can keep a night time kinky monster watch.
Yo momma straightened her hair for so many years until she constantly gets mistaken for being a 'America's next top bald model.'
Yo daughter spends so much money on weaves 'til she won a prize for most money spent contributing to profits for India's hair exports. - (prize "20 pounds of dead hair.")
eek

(my sister's famous best friend is a great mother - blue ivy.s hair is always clean.)
