Huh?How is India selling weave?

Human hair industry
The selling of human hair for weaves, wigs, and other hair styling products is an industry that generates hundreds of millions of dollars annually and is growing as a large export economy in some Asian regions, such as India, at a rate of 10-30 percent annually.
In India, a large portion of the hayir is sourced from Hindu temples where hair is donated for religious practices, particularly in honor of the Hindu God Vishnu. This hair is highly sought out for its 'virgin', untreated qualities, as well as its great length. From there the hair is cleaned and the color is removed before being re-dyed for Euro-centric style tastes.

like okay?
eek
most dead hair used for weaves comes from India!

also: http://site.houseofbeauty...es-origin/

The majority of human hair weaves comes from India and other parts of Asia. The reason for this is because Indian women’s hair blends well with the hair of women in many other countries

Besides, why are some people saying that the parents want her to have natural hair but you all know you haven't seen Beyonce's real hair since 2000, on top of that she's been a blonde for damn near twenty years. Geez.

so call the child protective agency, or throw stones at bey for HER child having clean (yet) naturally wooly hair.

The petition was not about Lil' Blue Ivy's hair being naturally wooly, at all. In picture, after picture, her hair did not look clean and cared for. That is what people found disturbing and no excuse for, considering who her parents are and decided to call them out about it.

These are examples of what lil' girls with naturally wooly clean and cared for hair looks like:

These are examples of how people kept seeing Blue Ivy's hair:

I'm sure you can SEE the difference and why people felt something needed to be said and done about it.

Thank you for posting this. I think people in the media (and some on this thread) were trying to say that people were angry about natural hair. People who have common sense, such as yourself, clearly understand what the issue was. These pictures show how awful that child's hair was. I would be sympathetic if it were a situation that the family were living on dire straits. However, they are multi-millionaires who have STAFF that tend to them around the clock. You should never look better than your child. It already seems that this child is going to have a bit of a rough exterior as it is but you shouldn't make it worse by neglecting the poor child either! When is the last time you saw her mother without her bleach blonde weave, wigs, extensions, etc. ?

Who gives a rats ass...if people care so much about this why dont they go get a comb and some hair oil and fix her hair themselves. Good luck with that. So much more important issues in this world and people are worrying about her hair. Its natural for her hair to be a little wooly and of a course texture. Her hair is beautiful. Get a grip on reality. At least her parents arent sowing weave on her head. Now that would be something to raise hell about.

Wooly and of a course texture hair - is not now, has never been, nor ever will be - the same thing as dirty, matted and unkempt hair! hammer

Regardless to whose head it's on but especially not on a little girl who's parents can more than afford to have someone taking care of that child's hair on a regular basis. If that was the child of some ordinary people from around the way, looking like that every day, every last person up in here defending this foolishness because it's "Jay and Bey's" child hair we're talking about, would be the main ones talking about how trifling those people are and how child protection needs to be called on them. disbelief

Agreed. Like I said, this is insulting to say that she's wearing her hair natural when that's not the issue. I think it's a backhanded way of insulting black women who wear their hair in what people call "natural". Even if someone decided to straighten their hair via a flat iron, if their hair is not relaxed, it's still "natural" because there are no chemicals on it. The best example of this is Michelle Obama. She uses heat and not chemicals to style her hair.

Maybe Beyonce has hygiene issues in general:

spit Bullshit! They were doing nothing but making quite the trifling statement by not washing and combing that child's hair, period! If you don't think so, walk into ANY hair salon that specializes in natural, wooly, of a course texture hair, bring up some pictures of Blue Ivy's hair and get a professional's opinion or several - which is more than likely to be the case.

I would like to say while it is true that Jay and Bey has the free will to raise their child the way they choose, moral discretion and common sense should apply. They are public figures, and all eyes are on them. I believe that someone close to them should had an discussion with them, regarding Blue Ivy, before this public petition. No black child should walk around, looking like buckwheat, while their parents are well groomed and pampered. Believe it or not, this mess is also happening in the ghetto: children looking like they're not well cared for, while the mother has to get her hair and nails did, and the father is lining up his pockets for the next and latest style Jordans sneakers.

So it seems like some of these folks think that fans are only good for making celebs rich by spending money on their music and tours but fans don't deserve to voice their opinions? Give me a break. I think Beyonce should try wearing her hair natural, like her sister. I saw her in Austin Powers, and though she wore an Afro wig, it was very fitting for her.

Yeah it's her lame attempt at deflection. I think the media is playing up the "outrage" aspect of this but I think people are just saying how they feel it's not right for a mom to have expensive weaves put in her hair every 2-3 days but the kid looks like she's never had her hair properly groomed. It's amazing how many people think that any and all natural hair is the same and it's NOT. On top of the fact that mommy dearest has been bleaching her skin the past several years, people should really figure out that there's no shortage of cash for keeping up anyone's appearance!

Well, sometimes people get loose twists that last for a few days before you have to re-do them again. There are a few options with that look. I think Lauryn Hill had that look you're talking about back during her Miseducation album days.

IMO the negative of this issue is all the criticism of two parents and their child and their personal choice as parents.
it's positively perplexing to me that bey and jay's rights as parents has turned obtuse and moronic in content by the many who seem to have meaningless agendas.
