Jamareo Artis with Bruno Mars at the Super Bowl!

They are heard on radio everywhere. You see them on just about every major TV music award show. In 2014 they will even do the mother of all TV appearances – the mighty Super Bowl!

Bruno Mars definitely has the ability to write hits – but if it wasn’t for the reputation of always delivering a killer live performance with his trusted band, things may have been different.

The bass player of The Hooligans – as the band calls itself – is EBS pedal artist Jamareo Artis. At age 24, he has already earned his well-deserved reputation as a monster bass player.

We got to meet Jamareo in Stockholm, Sweden, on Bruno Mars´ Moonshine Jungle Tour, right after a sold out show in front of 15,000 people. Jamareo revealed that Bruno always had a clear idea that it’s now more important than ever to deliver an amazing live performance in order to build a career that lasts for more than an album or two. And it’s not just about playing; it’s about the performance as a whole. On stage, all members of the band play a major part in the choreography of the show, making it simply explode – which in turn sells out arenas, making the audience get on its feet to join the party all over the World.

Jamareo Artis is a master of laying down nice bass grooves, really playing with taste and for the music. Jamareo says, nor surprisingly, his major heroes are James Jamerson, Jaco Pastorius and Pino Palladino, and although he loves Marcus Miller and his slap style playing, Jamareo prefers to call himself a finger style bass player.

“When I slap, it’s the old school type of slap playing that developed during the Seventies – simple, effective grooves – but most of the time, I stick to finger style.”

Despite having heroes, Jamareo point out how important it is to develop your own significant style. Something that is unique, and your own, and not just copying others. Jamareo is one of those players that have a style of his own, which is why he is recognized as one of the most talented younger bass players today!

Bruno Mars and the Hooligans are still a hungry band, and Jamareo promises that the coming Super Bowl performance next year will show the world that they have come to stay for a long time. That show will be something extra special to remember!

The latest girl group trying to make a splash has a trick up its sleeve — and he goes by the name Bruno Mars.

Meet “The Lylas,” Bruno’s four sisters attempting to launch a music career via a new reality show premiering Friday on WE (9 p.m.).

Like many a girl group before them, each glamorous, photo-friendly member has a marketable identity. There’s Jaime Kailani, the eldest who calls herself “the mama bear of the group.” She’s followed by Tiara, “the bossy one” and Tahiti Hernandez,“the dramatic one.” Baby of the family Presley Hernandez rounds out the group as“the goofy one.”

The women brush off questions about their age, saying only that they’re in their 20s through 30s. (Bruno, born Peter Hernandez, is in the middle at age 28; their other brother, Eric, who plays drums for Bruno, is in between the two older sisters.)

The show follows the Lylas — an acronym for “Love Ya Like A Sister” — as they head to LA to start their career. But despite their famous ties, they say they’re doing it on their own. Bruno was busy promoting his second album while the series was filming and does not appear on the show. (Their mother, Bernie and father, Peter, do appear on the series.)

“He’s so supportive of us. He gives us advice, of course — we’re his sisters,” Tahit says of Bruno.

His inability to appear on the show, though, worked out just the way they wanted.

“We want to just make sure that the show comes across as being about us,” says Tahiti.

“And you’ll really see that we’re doing this on our own,” adds Presley. “A lot of people assume that because we’re his sisters, everything’s just going to come easily.”

“I’m trying to find that coattail now!” interjects Tiara, laughing. “I’m trying to ride that thing! This is hard work.”

Raised in Hawaii, the girls got their start in music when they were young — their late mother, Bernie, was a hula dancer and their father, Peter, played percussion. He famously loved the ’50s and ’60s, and their home was outfitted with two jukeboxes. Their mom had the girls harmonize any time she could.

“It was like the Von Trapp family minus the Nazis,” says Tiara.

But things didn’t get serious for the young women until two years ago when they recorded a “We are the World”-type song with Jaime’s charity for the Philippines, where their mother was from.

“It sort of woke up the dream again,” says Jaime, who like Tahiti, is now a mom. “As a little girl you definitely say, ‘One day I want to be a famous singer!’ And then real life happens, and you say, ‘Okay, well, I need to have something to fall back on.’ ”

Recording that song led the women to write and record more, incorporating radio-friendly pop with the island music they grew up on. Though they don’t yet have a record deal, their first single, “Come Back,” is out now on iTunes, and more songs will be issued as the show progresses. While optimism is high, the ladies know that some people may wonder why they’ve gone the reality route. “There’s a stigma with reality shows,”says Tiara. “Are people going to take us seriously? ” But after their mother tragically died from a brain aneurysm at age 55 last June, the experience became something entirely different.

“After everything that had happened in our situation with our mother passing, it turned out to be a blessing,” says Tiara. “All of that fear over whether our show did well or not went away because what’s more important now is that we have this footage of her.”

Crooner Bruno Mars and monarch Queen Elizabeth II will be among the high-profile hat wearers inducted into the Headwear Hall of Fame in 2014.

Other celebrity headgear aficionados to be inducted alongside them at an April 2014 gala in New York City are Diane Keaton, Elton John, Sophia Loren and Spike Lee.

Now in its sixth year, the Hall of Fame was created by the Headwear Assn., a 105-year-old trade group whose stated mission is "to promote hats and the headwear industry throughout the world, and to foster goodwill and fellowship among those engaged in the headwear industry."

The six inductees were chosen by the association's board of directors, winnowed from a group of 50 nominees put forth by its members. In announcing this year's cream of the hat-wearing crop, Headwear Assn. President Todd Gardner said his organization tries "to select honorees that are known for their signature style, which of course includes wearing a wide variety of hats."

The class of 2014 will bring the total number of Headwear Hall of Famers to 36. Previous inductees include Cary Grant, Tom Waits, Hugh Jackman, Rachel Zoe, Nicole Kidman and Josephine Baker (inducted in 2013); Fred Astaire, LL Cool J, Kid Rock, Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, Marlene Dietrich (inducted in 2012); Carlos Santana, Payne Stewart, Ne-Yo, Cameron Diaz, Aretha Franklin and Gwen Stefani (inducted in 2011) and Frank Sinatra, Brad Pitt, Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Lopez (inducted in 2010).

The inaugural class of the Headwear Hall of Fame, inducted in 2009, featured such lid-loving luminaries as Samuel L. Jackson, Johnny Depp, Vince Lombardi, Jackie Kennedy, Madonna andPrincess Diana.

The formal induction of the newest honorees will take place at the association's 106th gala event at the Central Park Boathouse on April 24, 2014, which is open to anyone in the fashion and headwear industry.

Bruno Mars had better brush up on his Hebrew.

The Grammy winner has been hand-picked by New York City-based Russian oligarch Len Blavatnik to perform songs at his daughter’s bat mitzvah. She’s a huge fan of the singer, who had better come ready with a long set list, because he’s getting paid per song, Confidenti@l can exclusively reveal.

“He is getting $250,000 per song and is planning to sing five songs,” a source tells Confidenti@l.

As part of the sweet deal, Mars and his entire crew, including his stylist and his band, get a private jet to New York for the special night, all on the 56-year-old Blavatnik’s dime.

“He insisted on his own band backing him,” says our source. “Also, he will retain rights to all recordings of the performance, even though I have to think every yarmulke-clad teen at the party will instantly be posting clips of Bruno Mars playing a bat mitzvah.”

Mars felt pressure to do the gig, we’re told, because he is signed to Atlantic Records, which is owned by Warner Music, which is owned by, you guessed it — Len Blavatnik.

Len Blavatnik, chairman and president of Access Industries Holdings LLC, is reportedly paying Mars $250,000 per song.

“The event will probably take place at the Plaza,” says our source. “Last Saturday, there was a sweet 16 party there where the lucky birthday girl enjoyed a three-song performance by Pharrell .”

Fans won’t have to shell out hundreds of thousands to catch the “Locked Out of Heaven” singer belt his crowd-pleasing tunes when Mars delivers the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show in February at MetLife Stadium.

Blavatnik made his fortune from Access Industries, which he founded. He’s chairman of the company, which invests in natural resources, chemicals, media, telecommunications and real estate. Forbes says he’s worth a whopping $17.8 billion, and he was No. 2 on the Sunday Times of London’s Rich List for 2013.

Access Industries owns Warner Music America, has invested in designer Tory Burch and is backing an upcoming Martin Scorsese film, “Silence.”

Mars is certainly not the first celebrity to take advantage of a low-profile gig that will get him a nice payday. Usher has sung “Happy Birthday” for a cool $250,000, while New Jersey “Real Housewife” Teresa Giudice has raked in upwards of $20,000 to show her face at a fan’s private event.

But I wouldnt have minded seeing a quick cameo of him in his sister's show I will be watching tonight too, his sisters seem cool and funny and this will give me a bit more insight into Bruno's life, his background, and what it was like growing up in the Hernandez family. One thing I know is they are a tight family, family is very to Bruno and all of them

Bruno Mars is celebrating after clinching the the Mtv Europe Music Awards ceremony's first prize after hisLocked Out Of Heaven hit earned him the Best Song trophy.

The American pop star beat off competition from Daft Punk (Get Lucky), MACklemore & Ryan Lewis (Thrift Shop), Rihanna (Diamonds) and Robin Thicke (Blurred Lines) to take home the trophy, which was presented by Teen Wolf actor Carlton Haynes and Game Of Thrones star Candice van Houten.

Mars thanked his fans and manager in his acceptance speech and then revealed the win was extra special because his father had flown in to Amsterdam, Holland for the awards ceremony.

He said, "Listen y'all (you all) this song means so much to me... Thank you guys so much... I want to thank Atlantic records, I want to thank my manager. I got my pops here tonight, poppa Mars is in the building... Amsterdam thank you!"

Mars is also nominated for the Best Male award.

Other early winners include Katy Perry, who was named Best Female, Eminem (Best Hip Hop Award) and 30 Seconds to Mars (Best Alternative Act Award).

Miley Cyrus kicked off the ceremony with a space-themed performance of We Can't Stop, spanking a leather-clad little person and groping her breast, while Robin Thicke was joined by Iggy Azalea for a performance of his tracks Blurred Lines and Feel Good, and prizewinner Perry performed new track Unconditionally.

Bruno Mars will not be playing billionaire Len Blavatnik’s daughter’s bat mitzvah, as reported by a wannabe column that got it so wrong, it failed to realize the event took place a year ago.

A rep for Mars tells us, “Bruno is currently headlining his sold-out European leg of his ‘Moonshine Jungle’ world tour and set to perform at the MTV EMAs in Amsterdam this weekend.”

Sources say Laila Blavatnik’s bat mitzvah bash at Gotham Hall in 2012 had performances by Ed Sheeran and Foster the People.

Bruno Mars brought his sexy, steamy video for Unorthodox Jukeboxsingle "Gorilla" to life onstage at the MTV EMA Sunday (November 10).

After collecting his award for Best Song for "Locked Out of Heaven," theUnorthodox Jukebox singer took the stage at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome for a show that rivaled anything you'd find in the city's famous — and infamous — Red Light District.

The triple EMA nominee belted out the ultra-sexual jam, his face — with a little camera trickery — superimposed over a sexy dancer undulating around a stripper pole with acrobatic ease. A green neon sign pulsated in the background, trails of light bleeding across Mars's face. The scene was similar to the video for the jam, in which stripper Isabella gives a hot, sweaty performance at a South of the Border strip club.

"Me and Bruno went to probably seven or eight strip clubs, you know, for research," director Cameron Duddy told MTV News when the video dropped. "We'd be in there on, say, a Tuesday night, we'd walk in, and the few people that were actually in there were watching the dancers, but we'd be looking at the architecture of the place for inspiration. And then we'd have our one drink and leave."

During his performance in Amsterdam, however, Bruno didn't seem that concerned with the architecture. At the climax of the jam — pun intended —Bruno strapped on his guitar to bust out a sizzling solo, grooving closer to the dancer, who thrusted her hips toward his guitar in time to the song.

We first saw Mars perform "Gorilla" at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, and although he busted out a pretty wild performance at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, it's safe to say he's outdone himself with this rendition. We do miss the gorilla, though.

Mars is also nominated for Best Male Performer and Best U.S. Act.

Bruno Mars had a big night at the MTV Europe Music Awards, where he brought home the award for Best Song with "Locked Out Of Heaven." Mars, who will perform during the Super Bowl halftime show in February, also hit the EMAs stage to perform his new single "Gorilla." You could say he wasn't alone.


Donning aviator sunglasses and looking like the late Lou Reed, Mars strummed his guitar alongside a pole dancer. It was part Prince-inspired, part Rihanna's "Pour It Up" music video.
