ART-POP, I'm REALLY looking forward to it, but...

I'm a Gaga fan.

Of all the pop musical acts out there now (Nicki Minage, Britney Spears,

Christina Aguilera, Madonna, Maroon 5, Justin Beiber, JT, Kanye, etc.), Gaga

is the only one I find remotely entertaining or compelling.

She's the perfect combination of showboat, ala Madonna, Elton John-meets-Kizz

theatrics, and solid pop song writing you graces the top of the charts anymore.

But, I think she's long overdue for a Joni Mitchell style album, or at least a pop

album with some solid ballads on them. She's proven in her live performances

that she can slow a hit song down and belt out some powerful balladry--it would

be nice to see her put this to record.

But from what I'm hearing, she's moving back to hit-pop-song songs with

a techno vibe. I wonder if she's playing to the same gay dancehall crowd

that her previos efforts were.

Don't get me wrong--I loved Monster and I also loved Born This Way, but

I don't necessarily want to hear them again on her fourth album. I'd love

a major shift in direction with singles that have great remixes that can be played

in the clubs. She's proven to be a highly prolific performer/songwriter, so

I'm guessing she has it in her.

Whatever the material will sound like, I can't wait for this thing to drop this year.

I just hope she gives us something new.

im really looking forward to this as well!

she says it will be a two disc album, with one disc being completely experimental.

I love her but I'm a little worried she's about to crawl up her own ass. The sense of self-importance seems to be growing more and more.

That said, it would be awesome if she did something a la Grace Jones.

I would like to hear some more organic sounding "rock" songs from her. If Art Pop does end up being two discs I'm sure there will be plenty of variety.

the song "Princess Die" she played live a while back was really good. She said it would not be on art pop, but i would like to see things like that on artpop. As well as things like "stuck on f'n you"

I would tend to agree but she got her start in the club, and found all of her success with dance tunes. I am not surpised that is just how she writes.

You are looking for her Around The World In A Day and I don't know if she even wants an album like that. Here is hoping for cuts that make it onto ART-POP that are not merely "songs we paid Darkchild for but we know won't be singles".

THIS biggrin

I would love to see her do some straight up rock songs. I started giving her a lot more props after finding out she reps and loves Anthrax, Guns N Roses, Anthrax, Iron Maiden etc.

She even has a pic with the members of Anthrax.

So i am excited to hear what the collaborated on.

It's weird how thing's change in just a few years.

When GaGa came out she was THE thing you couldn't escape her music, her clothes, whatever she said was put on yahoo news it seemed lol

Every pop star was compared to her practically and there were many ''she stole that from GaGa'' lines on top of people saying how GaGa stiole from so and so.

Now Rihanna and Nicki own the radio.. seriously those 2 chicks migth as well get radio re-named lol

I wonder if GaGa even cares that much about getting tons of hits now.

Rihanna and Nicki put out a new single every week it seems like.. They dont write, they dont play instrumets, etc.. In my opinion it isnt a good thing to be constantly played, people get tired of it and it loses its value. The thing about Nicki and Rihanna, is there songs are big for about a month, by that time its been so overplayed people cant stand to hear it anymore..

Man Diamonds was everywhere... i mean EVERYWHERE eek

I'm not a big GaGa fan but i have learned to appreciate her a little bit and am somewhat excited for her new album.

i'm not one to jump on the modern music is shit wagon cause there is some great shit right now Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Mumford & Sons, Of Monsters & Men, The Black Keys, Yeezy etc. All get decent airplay...

But as for female musicians you either have Rihanan who doesn't write, produce or have any say in what she does, or Taylor Swift bitching about another relationship rolleyes

I mean it's cool if people like them but i'm so sick of them that i actually would rather GaGa get play.

I mean at least songs like You & I, Edge Of Glory and Hair whether somewhat cheesy or not were actually about something and GaGa had a lot of the say in the making.
