Especially since he just came out of having TWO forms of cancer and problems with his intestines. I read late last month he had entered the hospital because of intestinal problems again.

He was supposed to perform tomorrow for the debut of his new album - Titanic Requiem. He had canceled other apperances because if his intestinal surguery a couple of weeks ago. I checked last night to see if he had recovered enough to perform, instead I read that he is near death with severe pneumonia. After hearing that, I had trouble sleeping.
At age 48, Prince and the Bee Gees are the soundtrack to my life. And the Bee Gees are the soundtrack to my childhood. The first album I ever bought was the brilliant "The Bee Gees: Here at last... Live"
Hopefully his body is up to fighting back from pneumonia after all he's already been through lately, cancer, chemotheropy (that cleared the cancer), emergency instestinal surgery, and now this.

The latest reports are Robin Gibb is in a coma and may only have days to live.
I had hoped that since a week had passed since the first reports of pneumonia that he was recovering. Sadly this doesn't appear to be the case.

I've always loved this song, even though the lyrics are very sad. Robin is singing the lead vocal in this song:
Get well, Robin. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I'm happy they have him in England to be surrounded by loved ones at this time.
I remember when I lived in Miami Beach many years ago, the Brothers Gibb were a very quiet but powerful force in the local music industry and community there, but lovely and approachable. It appears they raised their families there as well (at least part time), an heir kids were very popular in the "youth set" of young people interested in making music, and those kids made friends across every class, color and creed of young people throughout Miami Beach. Locals always reflected on the Gibbs family fondly; I guess folks looked at them as a kind of favorite celebrity family. They were quiet and stalwart, yet friendly to us "civilians".
It was very sad to hear of Maurice's passing. In my heart of hearts, knowing how dreadful the hospitals are in Miami, I've always felt that had he been in another city at the time of his illness he might have made it. While I love Miami, one thing I do not trust is their health infrastructure
Prayers for Robin, Barry, and their family at this difficult time.
