The Jacksons Reunion Tour Set To Hit Houston July 14




​Since their brother Michael passed away in June 2009, there has been persistent talk of a full-scale Jacksons tour, with the surviving Jackson brothers on board performing their collective hits and the hits of brother Jermaine.
Today the iconic sibling group -- Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito Jackson -- announced a full-scale national tour, with a Houston date July 14 at Bayou Music Center, formerly Verizon Wireless Theater.
Armed with their bedrock Jackson 5 hits, Jacksons work, and Jermaine Jackson's hit solo cuts, the group's "Unity Tour" marks their first tour in nearly three decades. That last tour in support of 1984's Victory album was a highly successful outing, with the group playing in front of more than 2.5 million screaming fans.
The Victory tour and the Jacksons stopped at the Astrodome for two days on November 9 and 10, 1984. The group's entire Dallas set from that tour is here

I was just watching the Family Dynasty DVD yesterday. I got it from the library.

In 2009, I wouldn't think it was a good move. In 2012, it IS a good move. In 1991 would've been a good move or 1992. I don't care if they would've been compared to the Osmonds but the Osmonds carried on without Donny and Marie so why shouldn't have the Jacksons?

Wish them success and, as I said earlier, "good luck with that". And I mean that positively too. Just hope they don't have issues that will fuck up the tour...

Yes. I think he was a member from the time they took the name "The Jacksons" until they broke up.

I recall him having health problems (?) recently, so maybe that's why he's not going to do the tour. Or maybe he's just doesn't want to do it..

I'm just surprised they got it together enough to announce a tour. Seemed like they couldn't play together as a group for more than ten minutes without bickering (especially Jermaine LOL).

I was talking about the general tone of most comments, not you in particular. You're not the only one to post smilies. If you don't want to see them without Michael is different than saying that it's not a good idea for them to tour. It's like wanting them to fail before it starts. I'm not expecting them to to draw any huge audiences like Michael, but there are some people who like the other brothers and not Mike only. There's folks who go to Tito's blues show.

It's probably a mixture of both but more on the latter.

You know it is, at times, like spitting. Someone can leave such a bad taste in your mouth with some bull that you have to spit it out, again and again. And orgers seem to put some english on their loogies now and again. And some orgers want to talk about MJ and the Js like they invented sliced bread. But you know what, we have been having sliced bread for a while now. You need some thick skin in the Jackson world in 2012. Tito is my big crush for about a year now. I would love to fill my flask with some Tequila and catch one of his shows.
