yes, they did, timmy. when mj was alive, who was going to cue up to see these guys? they tout the fact that they were on the successful victory tour. yeah, whatever. that tour is noted for two things: one, the blatant greed on display in the wake of mj's astronomical success, and two, the fact that most, MOST, MOST people who attended those concerts were going to see mj, NOT the jacksons.

i guess there may be some interest; we'll see when the tix go on sale.

hmmm interesting.I wonder if this tour will be a success.

In any case,it looks like the brothers have finally realized that,if they wanna make money, they actually have to go out there and work for it.Such a shame that it took them 22 years to realize that evillol

disbelief @ people bashing people for their opinion. I havent read any disrespectful comments or comments that come close to putting any Jackson down in this thread but I guess orgers will be orgers razz

I hope for the best for their tour to but I also know that its not going to be as successful without Michael and even Randy. Since they have the obvious void of Michael not being there, they should at least have ALL the brothers there touring (no Randy)neutral . That in no way puts them down but it is a DRAGISTIC difference when members of a group are not there especially Michael who was the lead singer and heart of the group. I think its perfectly reasonable to point that fact out.

There is NO getting around that fact.

Im sure some people will go see the tour regardless but to others that is going to be a major problem and cause of less interest.

ALL groups have gone through this; TLC, Queen, RUN DMC.... its just not the same without all the original members for alot of people but then again some dont care. Thats why alot of the groups just stop touring all together or even making albums when they loose a member because they understand it wouldnt be the same. I think they should have not waited this long to do a reunion tour.

Depending on the ticket prices I wouldnt mine seeing them.

I thought when they tried to tour the year Michael passed away I was completely turned off by that because it was obvious they were just trying to cash in on Michaels passing. Thats why I always look at the Jacksons sideways. Very talented family but they always do stupid ass money hunger shit and they definily showed their true colors when Michael passed.

Jacksons reunite for the Unity Tour 2012 in DC July 3 at Constitution Hall

Adored by millions of fans the world over, the Jacksons forever changed the landscape of popular music. They return to D.C. July 3 at DAR Constitution Hall with tickets going on sale April 6 at LiveNation.com and

I think it's cool especially for Jermaine. He has a body of work. Get out there

and tour instead of waiting for a check to fall in your lap. Artists with less hits

than Jermaine are out there working. I think it's pointless to keep saying

that MJ was the meal ticket. We already know that but there are others who

appreciate the talent of some of the other Jacksons even if some of you don't.

I'll see what happens before judging.

And of course they aren't going to sell out huge arenas. It would be ridiculous

to compare them doing that to their success with Michael. It's cool to perform

at smaller venues and make money.

I think they should do something else like I Am Love, Mama's Pearl, or Daddy's Home. fro
That ABC medley is not the only songs (or hits) the J5 have. It would be nice if they performed some show tunes like they did on TV in the 1970's.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Even Rebbie performs in Vegas and Japan. If she can draw enough of an audience to do overseas concerts, then why not her brothers?

No. A 'reunion' tour? Really? Who's going? Without Michael? I'll pass.

I doubt they do that many songs from 2300 Jackson Street, if any.

Even Though You're Gone, that was a Mike track that I don't even know if they did on tour when it was released.

My track list would look like this.

-Can You Feel It

-Lovely One

-Things I Do For You

-Do What You Do

-Jackson 5 Medly [I Want You Back/ABC/The Love You Save]

-I'll Be There

-Tito [Blue's numbers]

-Daddy's Home

-You Like Me Don't You

-Let's Get Serious

-Blame It On The Boogie

-Dancing Machine

-Don't Take It Personal

-Never Can Say Goodbye [Michael Tribute]

-Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)

Not sure is Marlon and Jackie will get any solo spots. I think Tito will do his blues set, he's been performing for well over a decade now. Marlon might do a Body/Don't Go medley and Jackie, Stay I guess. I'm not even sure if Jackie ever prformed any tracks from his solo material?

Yeah they probably get a good 1,000, whatever how many go there... that's probably what the tour would be, a theater tour. That's alright by me.

Have the Jacksons ever toured without Michael before? I know they did an album in the late 80s without him,but did they play any dates?

No.

The soul of the group is gone. It just wouldn't be the same. sad

Why couldn't they have done something when Michael was alive? And not just a one time deal like the 30th Anniversary Show??

disbelief

I'm sorry but out of respect for Michael, I wouldn't pay to see that show unless Janet was singing lead for them (I'd accept that). They're the Jackson 5, not the Jackson 4.

Either health issues or problems with his brothers, mainly Jermaine. Just assumptions. They can't go on as "The Jackson 5" anyway, they went on as four before. shrug
