Alright, let me jump in. Marvin Gaye best: What's Going on worst: Midnight Love underrated: Here My Dear, In Our Lifetime (both wonderful albums, Here My Dear chronicles a love affair falling apart as honestly as Dylan's Blood on the tracks. You see, I can't just name titles. That makes no sense to me as long as you don't explain your choice. Overrated: Let's Get it on. (great single, but the rest of the lp is leightweight. The same goes for: I Want You Prince best: Lovesexy Purple Rain (his only albums that are great all the way thru with no weak song) worst: Batman underrated: Planet Earth Overrated: Sign o'the Times. (features some of his all time best songs, but also a few that I just cannot get into. And the use of drum machines makes it sound a bit monotonous. Sly and the Family Stone best: Stand worst: Heared You Missed Me Well I'm Back Underrated: Life Overrated: There's a Riot Going on. True, it's a brutally honest chronicle of a man falling apart, but Stand is full of songs that you can remember, so that one wins. | |

Best: Highway 61 Revisited Worst: Under the Red Sky Underrated: Nashville Skyline(had Bob scared the hell out of his fans on Highway 61 by going electric, on this one he went cuntry! C&W? Cowboy music? Anyone who thinks His Bobness can't sing should check this non-smokin', crooning Dylan. You're in for a surprise...)  Overrated: Time out of Mind(this is not the Bobster's fault, he came back big time as a songwriter on this one, putting to shame everyone who said he was a has-been. But Daniel Lanois' muddy production spoils it in my ears.) | |

Thanks! Low is a masterpiece, but it's among his most experimental albums, although it has several perfect pop songs. To start with Bowie, I'd recommend Hunky Dory (which, by the way, has a song titled "Song For Bob Dylan", which you, as a Dylan lover, will probably like). | |

Alright! I'm not a total Bowie virgin of course. I know his big hits and Tarantino used one of his songs in Inglorious Basterds. And I really like Lou Reed's Transformer(with Walk on the Wild Side on it) which has Bowie and his guitarist Mick Ronson all over it. You can clearly hear Bowie on Satellite of Love. And a few years later Mick Ronson joined Dylan on his awesome Rolling Thunder Tour. Everything is connected, that's one of the things I love about pop music. | |

Thank you robertlove. I think Off The Wall is underrated since it preceded Thriller. People forget how popular it was & the records he broke with it only because the LP that followed was, well everybody knows what happened with the Thriller era. | |

Both Joe Tyler and robertlove have mentioned Erotica as an underrated Madonna album. Totally agree. It may even be my favourite, although Like A Prayer is SO great... I don't know. But definitely, the late 80's and early 90's are my favourite Madonna years. | |

IV is a masterpiece, but I think I don't love it as much cuz it's the only one my dad likes. That's also the reason I don't like the Grateful Dead or the Almound Brothers... daddy issues...
