Maybe they bribed the innocence and purity of Michael and his angelic voice.

Actually, I think that Ben and Got to be there - his vocal peak, his voice was very very good as a child, then as adult just good.

Although I prefer his work in the 90s, I do not think that his work as a child overrated. In Eastern Europe, 90% of people will be very surprised that he even recorded albums as a child, not only in the group Jackson 5. It`s really not famous fact.
Even Off the wall is not popular here, like Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and even HIStory. Not even close. Really from 1971 to 1975 he had solo 2-3 hits, low sales, not the high popularity .... Where is reassessment?

I'm glad you liked it! I understand Free Money being an instant favorite, it's the song with the most easy to grasp theme. For me Gloria and Land are the biggest highlights. The opening lines "Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine" still give me shivers. Horses is so spectacular because it was created while Rock was a on the verge of going punk, and while that was radical Patti's lyrics took it to the next level.
