I think murray will be killed in jail. I feel for katharine jackson having to bury her child and I feel for the kids. This whole thing is just sad-the loss of a great life and the loss of a physician who apparently did try to help less fortunate patients, but just got caught up.

I'm not defending Murray. He did a horrible thing. But look at it for just a monent in this way.

You have a famous and rich client who will pay anyone to get what he wants. In Hollywood and in the music business this is not unheard of.

Then you have someone offering you a massive amount of money a month, more money than you have ever seen or will ever see.

Then the person offering you this opportunity is one of the biggest stars of the world. Working for him would not only pay you now, but could open untold doors in the future.

What would YOU do?

Murray deserves jail. He'll never work as a doctor again. He never received any money from the Jackson estate. He has to pay off his legal team. He is disgraced forever.

He doesn't deserve death. He was incredibly ignorant and negligent. He is suffering for it now.

Maybe later he writes a book and a host of MJ fans will buy it just to burn every page.

But how many others contributed to MJ's death, including MJ himself? Should Papa Jackson also be put on trial for f*ing up Michael's head for 50 years?

It's truly a tragedy. MJ seemed like an incredibly miserable and unhappy person whose only joy was his own children and his music. Like so many celebrities before him, the media and the public cannot look away from the train wreck about to happen.

Michael, may you find the peace in death that you could never find in life.

Essentially Michael Jackson handpicked a desperate man to serve his needs. This is an elaborate suicide.

I remain incredibly sad that Michael Jackson is gone, but I don't get any joy out of seeing Conrad Murray going to jail. Nevertheless, my hope is that now that the verdict is in; everyone involved with this case, including family, fans, and friends of all those involved, can find closure. And may Michael Jackson be resting in eternal peace.

And that's most important. I'm not shouting for joy either. It's just sad his job is destroyed because of this but knowing what went down, it's unfortunate he turned into an enabler instead of a doctor. confused

I agree even though I don’t feel bad for the doctor because he was just looking at the money so he deserve jail but at the same time I wished Michael made better decisions. Both people involve in this situation lost and it’s tragic.

Honestly, I think it points to a much larger problem with the medical community over-prescribing things.

They are actually similar to the political system in that they are influenced by corporate dollars more than they are interested in public welfare.

Plus, c'mon, it's Michael! lol

I know, I know but, just as an outsider, someone who hasn't been paying much attention to trials, it's scary to see people posting here that they are sweating and/or crying. Especially when there is so much apathy over our political system (Timmy's comments scare me and sadden me at the same time).

Sure, MJ was a great entertainer and his loss is sad and the fact that a man has been convicted of a crime today is a triumph for justice but Great Jebus! Let's have some perspective here---we got real problems in this world.

Yet, as someone pointed out. Reality shows, celebrity shows and IPads distract us while big corporations continue to slam their big fat d*cks up our arses without any lube. And we keep on taking it. Oh, look over there, a shiny new toy to distract us! lol

well, true, people do get a little worked up about things. lol

My only regret is that Murray has become the Lee Harvey Oswald of the entertainment industry.

Yes, he is found guilty and must be punish immediately. But lets not forget that there were many people that wanted Michael dead and quite frankly, I still piss that those MFers got away with murder while Murray is THE only one going to jail for it.

and this is what OUTRAGED me. many patients have blind trust for medical professionals. I have given COUNTLESS medications to patients. Michael, may you find the peace in death that you could never find in life.

yeahthat

I have mixed feelings about this verdict. While I could easily see how some people can claim Dr. Murray was grossly negligent in his duties and oath as a doctor, I don't like the attiutude of MJ's fans making him out to be some kind of monster which he is clearly not. He was, however, an enabler to an addict, and for that reason alone he should have been more judicious in his duties as a doctor.

But as some others have mentioned, the whole episode can't really be evaluated without looking at the big picutre. First of all you had Michael Jackson, a mega-pop superstar who hadn't been relevant on the pop charts for several years, who spent money like there was no tomorrow and owed tens of millions of dollars to various creditors due to his lavish spending on his extravagant lifestyle. Add to that fact that he was addicted to painkillers and had been addicted to painkillers since the mid-1980's and had a long history of surgery and other medical procedures since that time. It was also noted by his family and friends that Michael had seen several doctors in order to get prescriptions for Demerol, Profopol, and other painkillers, some who whom acquiesed to his demands and others who balked at him believing he needed rehab.

In addition, he was about to have his Neverland ranch foreclosed on, so he had to make some quick money to save his assets, so he arranged to do a 21 night stay ay the O2 arena in London with AEG, who fronted the money to put up his concerts and also paid Conrad Murray to be his personal doctor for the tour. Michael had promised to tour several times in the past but kept reneging or postponing his tour plans, so AEG made a concerted effort to keep Michael on a tight schedule so they would have their concerts and get the money back they advanced to him in the first place.

As for Dr. Murray, he already had thriving cardiology practices in Las Vegas and Houston and was up until that point considered to be an ethical doctor. He actually stood to lose a lot of money by abandoning his practice and becoming Michael's personal doctor, so that's why AEG offered him such a huge contract in the first place. Now you can discuss till the cows come home whether or not Dr., Murray was criminally negligent, but it was obvious that he broke with accepted AMA protocol in the treatment of Michael Jackson which by itself may have been grounds for malpractice.

The real tragedy in this case was that a pop superstar and father of three young children was taken from this earth too soon yet didn't need to die. But so many people were exploting his talent and weaknesses to make a whole lot of money at the expense of his humanity.

And as Al Sharpton said on MSNBC, hopefully this whole episode will expose not just addicted celebrities, whether they are high profile entertainers or athletes, or even the shady doctors who enable them, but the whole apparatus of groups trying to make a buck off of people's talents and skills.

nod It seems like you can't trust NOBODY. He definitely put a bad name to the medical system and we all know he's far from the only one to do this. Then you wonder why people don't want doctors, especially black folks, not trying to discuss a different topic but you know, just stating a point.

Exactly, both men made a choice and sold their souls to their respective devils, Mr. Jackson lost his life and Mr. Murphy is going to loss his freedom. One wonders will officials look into those who turned a blind eye to Mr. Jackson's "shopping for drugs". I doubt it, this is tragic situation.
