Soleil Moon Frye, aka 1980s television's Punky Brewster, says that when she was a child, she had a "heart-to-heart" chat with Michael Jackson in a hot tub and that the King of Pop also saved her from a swan.

The 35-year-old former child star reveals details her encounters with the late pop star in her new book "Happy Chaos," which was released on Tuesday, August 23.

Jackson's representatives have not commented on Frye's remarks. The King of Pop, who died in 2009, had often touted his friendships with young celebrities and made headlines in 2005 when he was tried for child molestation in a case involving a teenage boy. He was found not guilty.

Frye says in the book that she met Jackson at a Bruce Springsteen concert she attended with Kidada Jones, the daughter of music producer Quincy Jones, who worked with the pop star. Jackson showed up at the box they were sitting in with his friend, actress Elizabeth Taylor, who passed away earlier this year.

Frye, who was 8 years old at the time, says Jackson later invited the two girls to his home and that she took him up on his offer two weeks later.

She and her mother showed up at his ranch in North Hollywood, which is near Los Angeles. Kidada Jones was there as well and she and Frye were later permitted to remain alone with Jackson and watch "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," a 1971 film starring Gene Wilder as a chocolate factory owner who takes a group of children on an tour of his mysterious and seemingly magical facility.

Frye says Kidada Jones left the house after the three finished watching the movie and that Jackson then offered to show her his animals. The singer was known for keeping a wide varierty of pets, notably his chimpanzee, Bubbles.

"We went outside on his stunning property and began walking over a bridge when a swan jumped out at me," Frye says in her book. "Michael threw me to the ground in an effort to protect me. he explained that the female swan was pregnant and so the male swan was protecting her. Seemed normal, I guess."

The two later returned to the house. Jackson asked if she wanted "to take a Jacuzzi" and she accepted. She says she changed into a swimsuit and the two sat in a hot tub "talking about life, love and the secrets of the world."

"I remember him talking about the fact that he related more to kids than adults and that grown-ups never completely understood him," Frye says. "He sat across from me and we had a dialogue as if we were peers - a true heart-to-heart. He never made me feel like this was a bizarre situation. It just seemed as if he really wanted someone to talk to, someone who would make no judgments about him."

Frye said the two later played games in the house and that she never saw the pop star again after her mother picked her up.

"This story is not one I have shared often, but now I realize, if even for only one night, Michael Jackson was my babysitter," she wrote. "As strange as it all sounds - and I know it sounds strange - it was a highlight in my young life."

"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" is based on the book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl. A 2005 film remake by Tim Burton featured Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka and was touted as darker, even creepy, by many critics, some of whom drew comparisons between the title character and Jackson amid his much-publicized child molestation case.

Kidada Jones, who is 37 and the sister of "Parks and Recreation" actress Rashida Jones, has also not commented on Frye's remarks.

Frye played pig-tailed Punky Brewster on a comedy series by the same name that ran from 1984 to 1988. After the show ended, the actress appeared on episodes of shows such as "Saved By The Bell," "The Wonder Years" and "Friends" and voiced characters on the cartoons "Tiny Toon Adventures" and "The Ren & Stimpy Show."

Frye had a recurring role as Roxie King on the sitcom "Sabrina: The Teenage Witch" between 2000 and 2003. Between 2001 and 2005, she voiced the character of Zoey on "The Proud Family." In 2008, she had small parts on the animated show "Robot Chicken" and in 2010, began portraying the character Aseefa on "Planet Sheen."

Frye's most recent project is the movie "For Better Or For Worse," which also stars Janeane Garofalo and Rebecca Gayheart.

Frye has been married to producer Jason Goldberg since 1998. They are parents to daughters Poet Sienna Rose, or Poe, who turns 6 on August 24, and Jagger Joseph Blue, who is 3 years old.

Honestly, it doesn't sound like something Michael would do. Michael was very self-critical about his body. THE ESTATE OF MICHAEL JACKSON REMEMBERS FRANK DILEO

As many of you know, Michael’s longtime friend and manager Frank Dileo had been dealing with serious health issues for the past several months. It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that Frank lost his long struggle this morning and passed away at the age of 63.

Frank had an amazing amount of creative energy, a huge heart, an infectious spirit and a larger than life persona that captured the attention of any room he entered. He also cared deeply about Michael, his children and his fans.

Frank and Michael became friends when Frank was vice president for promotion at Epic Records during the release of "Thriller." In his best-selling book "Moonwalk," Michael wrote: "Frank really worked hard and proved to be my right hand during the years ahead. His brilliant understanding of the recording industry proved invaluable."

Frank went on to manage the incredibly successful Bad World Tour. Even after they stopped working together professionally, the bond between Michael and Frank remained and the family friendship continued. In early 2009, Frank was reunited with Michael once again as his manager as preparations began for the "This Is It" concerts.

After Michael’s passing, Frank proved invaluable to the Executors of his Estate, sharing unique insights that nobody else could possibly have.

Said John Branca, Co-Executor of the Michael Jackson Estate: "I had the privilege of knowing Frank Dileo for more than two decades. He was not only one of the great veterans of the music business, he was a beloved friend to me and all who were lucky enough to have had him in their lives. He was one of a kind. He was a character. He was an original. We loved him, and we will miss him. Our hearts are with his family."

Our thoughts and prayers are with Frank’s wife, Linda, his son Dominic, his daughter, Belinda, his grandchildren and all of his extended family and loved ones.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Music industry executive Frank Dileo, who managed Michael Jackson's career in the 1980s and returned as his manger in the superstar's final days, has died. He was 64.

Publicist Karen Sundell says Dileo died Wednesday morning. The cause of death was not immediately available, but he had recently experienced complications following heart surgery.

The short, portly Dileo was a colorful figure in the entertainment industry and had movie roles as an actor, notably portraying a gangster in Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas."

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Dileo began his career in the music industry working as a promoter for CBS subsidiary Epic Records. He signed so many stars that he was credited with catapulting the small company to the No. 2 label in the country. Jackson was at CBS Records at the time and together they worked on the phenomenally successful "Thriller" album.

In his book "Moonwalk," Jackson credited Dileo as one of the people "responsible for turning my dream for 'Thriller' into a reality."

Jackson wrote that Dileo's "brilliant understanding of the recording industry proved invaluable" and described how Dileo decided to release "Beat It" as a single while "Billie Jean" was still the No. 1 song in the country.

"CBS screamed 'You're crazy. This will kill Billie Jean,'" Jackson recalled. "But Frank told them not to worry, that both songs would be No. 1 and both would be in the Top 10 at the same time. They were."

In 1984, with "Thriller" soaring, Jackson recruited Dileo to leave Epic and manage his career. Dileo accepted and presided over one of the most productive periods for Jackson. He executive produced the full length Jackson movie, "Moonwalker." He also wrote, produced and negotiated a series of lucrative Pepsi commercials for Jackson. And he managed two of Jackson's concert tours — the Victory Tour with other members of the Jackson family and the Bad World Tour, Jackson's first solo excursion which became the largest grossing concert tour of all time.

After five years together, Dileo and Jackson abruptly ended their business relationship without explanation. Dileo went on to manage the careers of other musicians, including Taylor Dayne, Jodeci, Laura Branigan and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. He also worked with Prince on several projects. He founded Dileo Entertainment Group in Nashville, Tenn., a company focused on launching the careers of young artists.

In 2005, when Jackson stood trial on child molestation charges, Dileo returned to his side. He would tell later of their emotional reunion. After Jackson's acquittal, they remained in touch and in the summer of 2009, as Jackson prepared to launch his "This is It" tour, the singer asked Dileo to manage him again. They were working together when Jackson died on June 25, 2009.

Dileo is survived by his wife, Linda.

I know Frank had some sketchy dealings at the end, things we will never know for sure or get to the bottom of...but the fact he was their during the trial spoke volumes to me about how he felt about Michael.

RIP Frank.

No way. I really don't think Soleil Moon Frye is that type, especially considering that she's been either in or around showbusiness her entire life and has interacted with a lot of celebrities and hasn't tried to exploit that before for more press or attention, which she definitely could've done if she were that type of person. I honestly think she just mentioned it in passing with no ulterior motive, thought nothing of it and then the press jumped on it because it was a story about Michael Jackson in a hot tub with a kid, and they knew they could twist that and make it sound like something it wasn't. I bet right now she's kind of kicking herself for even mentioning it because of that.

That's why I can't listen to the media. With any celebrity. I mean you say one thing and they can turn around and make it into something else entirely. I've seen this happen all the time. That's why you can't just say anything and think people understand just YOUR point of view because they don't.

That's prolly it. disbelief

But she still should've kept quiet. I mean, a precious memory like that is one I'd keep to myself because it's special to me, or just between me and people I trust implicitly. I'd know better than to give the half-wit media something to run with.

That's what I was thinking. I never even heard that Michael met Soleil. shrug In any case, at least it's not a whole "i was molested" shit.

Honestly, it doesn't sound like something Michael would do. Michael was very self-critical about his body. I'm curious...

I cosign with that comment. No way Michael would allow himself to be placed in a compromising position with a young girl in a jacuzzi. I dont doubt that she met him after all she was a big tv star back in the day and he always seemed to connect with former/present child performers. (I wonder the time frame the Thriller era or the Bad era and how old was she?). You're right on one aspect Michael was very self-conscious about his body no way he come out in swim trunks only in front of her and I dont believe her mother wasnt with her at the time.

she already discuss her breast reduction so mentioning her brief encounter with Michael will get people to check out her book. Thank God the story is not too salacious you know the media has a way of twisting stories around.

...You can't be an eighties baby because if you were you'd see how that theory makes no sense lol . Seriously - Punky Brewster was a huge phenomenon back then and most 80s babies adored that character. She was to us what Hannah Montana and characters like that are to kids nowadays. Trust me, she doesn't need to name-drop MJ to sell copies, even now, decades later, people still recognize her and mention that character to her and how much they loved Punky. MJ also wasn't the only celebrity she's met and hung out with by any means and she's never exploited any of them for more fame and attention. I honestly think that if she were that type of person, she'd have done that by now. And during the child abuse allegations and subsequent trial she didn't go running to the press, and that was one time where, if being in the limelight was her goal, she would've definitely accomplished it, so I'm not buying it.

I also don't think the story is a lie because I've seen pics and footage of MJ topless and stuff playing around on waterslides and at waterparks before, especially around the 70s and 80s. I've also seen pics taken of him around that era where he posed with no shirt on. It's possible.

And you have to remember too what Soleil actually said - which is that it was completely innocent and there was nothing sexual about it. I think a lot of times fans are so busy overprotecting MJ that anyone who speaks on him they jump up and assume the worst about and start foaming at the mouth, ready to attack.

I didn't know her in the 80's but I did by the time the early 90's rolled around and the reruns were airing and I'd catch them. I also watched Sabrina in the late 90's, but can't recall what she looked like by then when playing her friend. I would have kept quiet about it too knowing how it could be twisted, and especially considering that she didn't say what kind of jacuzzi and how people could immediately relate this back to stuff about 93' and jacuzzi's, or the bathroom ones instead of thinking of a hot tub like setting or different context completely , like someone said, her mom also being there. But it sounds like she really respected him and I'm pretty sure I saw a Punky episode or heard about an episode where she had a poster of him on her wall at some point.

And RIP Frank, I was sad to hear about it though not too surprised either since we knew he wasn't in good health.

Hey I think the story is cute. Just if I were her, I wouldn't give much to the media to run with. I'm sure it was completely innocent, but hey...the media will go nuts cuz it's MJ with a kid in a hot tub.

I don't assume the worst on Soleil's part. She seems like a nice lady. Just I think she should've kept it to herself as a treasured memory.

On the contrary, Im very much an 80s baby and I remember the show/character 'Punky Brewster' being a huge hit with young viewers. I dont think she is as well known with pre-teen girls from this generation only those growing up in 80s generation like me.

Im sorry I still believe she had to name-drop in order to generate interest for her book. I dont feel her intent was to be harmful or malacious afterall she couldve came forward with her encounter long before he died. As I said before I dont doubt that she met him and went to his home just the time frame. Also I cant believe her mother wasnt by her side. Knowing my Mom if MJ invited me to hang out at his pool my mother wouldve brought her own bathing suit too.

For the record I like Soleil Moon Frye, but she has to know since her revelation,( she's on a promotional book tour )all the interviewers will ask about MJ because he's still a hot topic. As someone said here I agree with '..that treasured memory she should've kept to herself..'

That's what I was thinking. I never even heard that Michael met Soleil. shrug In any case, at least it's not a whole "i was molested" shit.

Honestly, it doesn't sound like something Michael would do. Michael was very self-critical about his body. I remember that was something that one of the maids accused Michael of doing (or something along those lines) with other children, but then she retracted her statement, admitting she lied and never saw him in the hot tub or shower with anyone. shrug I wonder what Kidada has to say. I'm curious...

I've heard that Mj went swimming and got in the hottub with kids from time to time. I've seen pictures of him in the early 80's in a pool and he looked pretty good might I add lol. To be honest I hope Kidada clears this up now. Im just happy she didn't say he tried to molest her or kidada on some ''you know pedo's molest both genders'' type shit. It's true they do but I'm happy she didn't go there

Thats true. I mean it's known Mj got in the water from time to time with kids but she should have made the story sound less creepy

Actually, most of those who favour young boys do not molest both genders. They're very specific. Sometimes, down to age.

I'm happy she didn't turn this into something controversial too. In any case, I wouldn't be completely surprised if Soleil's story is true. All Michael ever wanted was someone to talk to. You'd be surprised how isolated from others he really was.

Yeah that sucked. neutral

i can't comment on the casio songs b/c even though i bought the cd, i still can't bring myself to listen to it. sad

however, i also have kinda mixed feelings about frank. when he and mj went on the outs the first time, he intimated that he was going to do a 'tell all' and talk about mj's sex life. then in '93 when the first allegations broke, he firmly defended mj saying, 'that's not in his makeup'. THEN, he made certain dodgy statements afterward that mj was around kids but he turned a 'blind eye to it, maybe he shouldn't have' or some shit like that. that's why, unlike some, i always questioned his support in '05 b/c i saw it as him trying to get back in mj's good graces for his own purposes. after all, after he and mj parted ways, who did he manage that even came close to mj's status? or even had a status that he could build on?

roger friedman has a tribute to frank at his site where he definitely goes out of his way to go for mj's jugular, while giving all credit to frank. it bothers me that frank was so cozy with such bloodsucker like friedman. i'm sorry for his family's loss, but all this praise being heaped upon him by some mj fans ... i don't know, i'm skeptical.

Frank Dileo, Michael Jackson's former manager, fed up with pop star's estate before death: source

Thursday, August 25th 2011, 4:00 AM

Frank Dileo rests in peace - though we hear he was pretty agitated about Michael Jackson's estate before he died.

As the music world mourned the loss of Jackson's old-school cigar-chomping manager, who died on Wednesday, friends of Dileo tell us that his last healthy days were darkened by a growing disenchantment with the late pop star's co-executors.

One source says that early this year, Dileo even fired off an angry email to one of those executors, entertainment attorney John Branca, to complain about co-executor John McClain.

"He told Branca that he was very disappointed," says the friend who adds: "They were cutting Frank's power" and money he received as a consultant to Jackson's estate.

"He felt he wasn't getting his fair share financially and that McClain was undermining him," says the source.

Dileo, who managed the King of Pop from his "Thriller" years in the mid-'80s until the end of the decade and reunited with him shortly before Jackson's death in 2009, was particularly incensed with McClain's reaction to new Jackson tracks that were released posthumously on the album "Michael" last year.

McClain, who had briefly managed Jackson in the early '90s, was among a Greek chorus that claimed an impostor was on the tapes. (Forensic experts concluded they were legit.)

Dileo told us he had brought the songs to the attention of Jackson's record label, Sony, and in his email to Branca, the source says he accused McClain of spreading "negative spin" about him and the record.

According to the source, Dileo also accused McClain of "standing in the way of the marketing plan" for "Michael" by "not letting anyone hear the record."

In January, Dileo told us he was writing a memoir in which he would set the record straight about Jackson and the controversy behind "Michael." Shortly after our story ran, the source says the estate paid Dileo "a bonus."

Now it's unclear if the book will see the light of day. After undergoing heart surgery in March, Dileo experienced complications and never recovered. He was 64.

Calls to McClain and Branca were not returned by deadline. In response to our questions, a spokesman for Jackson's estate wrote: We believe it is appropriate to limit our comments" to "those we have already expressed ... We will always be grateful for Frank's contributions to Michael Jackson's career and to the estate, and our hearts go out to the Dileo family."

In 2005, when Jackson stood trial on child mo[img:$uid]http://pic80.picturetrail.com/VOL2084/9118410/23710928/397495592.jpg[/img:$uid]lestation charges, Dileo returned to his side.
