And he'll probably be making the media rounds for promotion of his book. rolleyes I dont think Jermaine actually cares about this concert happening during the trial. I bet what really happend is that he wasnt asked to participate in this concert, and he wont be getting any of the $$ made from it. And that's what bothers him imo.

Not that I care much about Germ, or believe him... but he said his books comes out before the trial (which starts on Sept 20th) and he said he'd stop promoting his book on Sept. 19th... Hum... let's see

I don't know. I don't put it past him but I think he and KISS are gonna act like they oh so loved him... lol well I don't know how Paul and 'em felt about him but maybe just Gene.

And I forgot about this interview Gene did too. Its unbelievable that he will be paying tribute to MJ. Surely somebody had to had informed Katherine about the things Gene said about her son!

KISS rocker Gene Simmons says there is “no question” in his mind that Michael Jackson molested children.

The 60-year-old also claims he knows a former Michael Jackson musician who quit from touring with the King of Pop because “of seeing boys coming out of the hotel rooms.”

The Demon – real name Chaim Witz – made the allegations in the new edition of Classic Rock Magazine where he said he had pleasant memories of Jackson in his younger years, but this soon changed when the child abuse allegations arose.

“As time moved on, and no matter what my fond memories and fond images of Michael were, with one allegation of paedophilia after another and another and another… Oh dear,” he explained.

“I knew some of the musicians he toured with, and specifically one who quit because of seeing boys coming out of the hotel rooms. And then you factor in that his travel agent was put on the stand and in court said that she was authorised to fly to Brazil and bring boys back to America for him…

“Well, you know, where there’s smoke there’s fire. There’s no question in my mind he molested those kids. Not a doubt.

“Michael’s on tape going, ‘Give the kids Jesus juice.’ Which is wine. I mean, it’s just endless.

“There’s never been a single female of any age that I’ve ever known about who has ever made a claim that she has had a physical relationship with Michael, ever.

“In fact, while he was alive, I never heard about mature men ever making that claim either – and believe me, you can’t keep it a secret. If you’re a celebrity, somebody somewhere will say, ‘Oh yeah, I shagged him.’

“The only sexual references ever made about Michael Jackson that were made by anyone, anywhere around the world, have always been made by kids, and specifically males usually 10 to 14 years of age; never females, that age or older, and never grown men.

“Oh, I don’t think this is going away any time soon.”

pissed disbelief sigh

Right. I don't know how Randy feels but maybe he truly feels this is wrong but who knows with Randy but Jermaine definitely has that "they didn't give me money so fuck them, I'm doing my own shit." I think mentally none of that family has let that stigma from Jermaine splitting from the group in 1975 following the group's exit from Motown. That's a hard grudge to get over for them I guess. Jermaine still has a "me against all of them" factor while the other Jacksons have their own agendas.

this would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. at least i hope this puts paid to the argument that the jackson family loves mj so much. no. they love the money and fame that mj brought them. nothing more. if they loved mj - including his own mother - they wouldn't be inviting simmons to be part of any tribute to him. i agree w/little blue corvette: this is just going to provide simmons with an opportunity to continue to blast mj in front of millions of people, and he's going to take it. there is no other way to view this. this is assuming, of course, that this thing gets off the ground. after this announcement, what right thinking mj fan is going to go to this thing?

Jury selection starts Sept. 8th, but opening statements are supposed to start Sept. 20th. Amazon.com lists Jerm's book coming out on Sept. 13th, about a week after jury selection and a week before opening statements. If he remains true to his word, he's got a week to promote the book. But Jacksons arent really known for keeping their word lol

So many times, I want to be with these Jacksons, but they are like a wreck I can't get away from. I only care for Michael, Janet and mj's kids kinda....I'm kinda cool with Marlon, Katherine, Latoya, and Jermaine, but I also question actions all the time, especially from Katherine lately.

Before and after June 25, 2009, the Jackson family have managed to dismantle their own legacy by nearly selling their son/brother under the river for the sake of getting paid. I now wonder if they were really a true family to begin with pre-fame.

I was gonna ask do they even have permission to broadcast it? I definitely see a cancellation before it goes forward. Plus, I doubt any KISS fan would go to a concert where it has MICHAEL JACKSON headlined unless they loved both equally.

they still can't broadcast it, cause they'd need the Estate approval.. and I think it just died:

The Estate’s response re Tribute concert (paraphrased): The Estate is outraged, and we’ll be issuing a statement today.

yes, they were probably just waiting, giving kat and her "business associates" enuf rope to hang. i don't think they can cut her off, but they can protest to the judge that to the extent she's been making "outside" money, he should factor that into a revised allowance. after all, kat claimed she had no other means of support aside from mj, and the judge based her allowance on her own words. how's she gonna continue to argue that she needs money from the estate if she's making money with these outside ventures?

Yeah, I've been waiting on an official response too. They legally could pull the plug on all of it considering they didn't get the estate's permission. I'm sure Katherine as Michael's mother feels like she shouldn't have to get permission to do anything related to her son but I'm sure she doesn't have problem collecting those monthly allowances (or whatever the arrangement is) from the estate either wink I'm more surprised by her more than anything. I don't know the details, as I don't follow it enough but this whole thing smells bad. It reeks of desperation and greed to me.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • NEW: Some Jackson fans object to KISS performing because of Gene Simmons' comments
  • NEW: Many of Michael Jackson's back up musician will reuniute for the tribute
  • Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, Smokey Robinson, Cee Lo Green and JLS are also signed
  • Two generations of the Jackson family will take the stage in the Cardiff, Wales, show

Los Angeles (CNN) -- The legendary rock band KISS signed up to pay tribute to Michael Jackson in an October concert that will also headline Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, Smokey Robinson, Cee Lo Green and JLS, the promoters told CNN Monday.

Musicians who played in Jackson's touring band for the past two decades will also reunite as the house band for "Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert" in Cardiff, Wales, according to promoter Global Live Events.

Kevin Dorsey, who served as musical director for several Michael Jackson tours, will also direct the October 8 show, it was announced Monday.

Katherine Jackson, matriarch of the musical family, appeared on CNN Monday to discuss the show, which will also include performances by her children and grandchildren.

"I know he would be very excited about KISS," Michael Jackson's mother said.

But fan reaction posted on the concert's Facebook page was negative to news that KISS would perform.

"This is a complete disgrace," wrote one fan. "You can kiss your audience goodbye folks. I doubt whether any self-respecting fan will pay a penny to see that man after the comments he made about Michael. I'm shocked this act was even considered."

Many of the negative comments referred to a story published by the Canadian Press a week after Jackson's death on June 25, 2009, quoting KISS leader Gene Simmons concerning sexual molestation allegations against the pop star.

The promoter appeared unaware of the controversy Monday when CNN asked for a reaction.

It appeared unlikely the tribute stage would be the scene for a reunion for the surviving members of the Jackson 5. Two of the brothers, Jermaine and Randy, have publicly objected to the show being held at the same time Michael Jackson's doctor is on trial for his death.

"We want to make clear that this does not reflect the position of the entire family," the two brothers said in a joint statement after their mother and four siblings endorsed the show.

"While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death," Jermaine and Randy Jackson said.

Dr. Conrad Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial begins in September and is expected to continue through October.

"The trial is very important and I can understand how Randy and Jermaine feel, but it's been two years," Katherine Jackson told CNN Monday. eek "I thought it was a good idea; I'd like to keep Michael's legacy alive."

Katherine Jackson plans to attend the trial, although she will miss some days to fly to Wales to attend the show with Michael Jackson's children, she said.

"It will be on a Saturday when the courtroom is dark," Paul Ring, a Global Live Events executive said.

Members of the Jackson family taking the stage October 8 include several of Michael Jackson's brothers, "the next generation of Jacksons," and 3T, which consists of Tito Jackson's three sons, the promoters said.

Alternative rock band Alien Ant Farm and British R&B singer Craig David are also on the bill.

"This concert will unite various generations and musical genres, reminding everyone of just how amazing a talent Michael was," Ring said.

Fans can "register their interest for tickets" online at www.michaelforevertribute.com.

The concert in the Wales Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, which seats 75,000 people, would be at least four hours long, Global Live Events CEO Chris Hunt said.

A spokesman for Michael Jackson's estate said last month that the promoters never sought or obtained permission from the estate's executors to use the late pop singer's name or image.

"The estate has not been contacted and is not involved with Global Live Events in the UK tribute concert announced today," spokesman Jim Bates told CNN at the time.

Yes katherine, it's been 2 years, but Murray is still free, so no, it still isn't the time for a tribute, it's time for justice. Michael ain't gonna be less dead in 3 years for the 5th anniversary...

Just cancel the whole thing and go to sleep Kathy.

Did you watch the video Timmy? I was having a hard time believing she actually said that quote. Then I watched the video and I had to pic my jaw up off the floor. What mother says something like that about the death of their own child? A parent NEVER gets over the death of a child--it can be 20 years later and they will still feel pain. And I still dont get why Jerm and Rand were there but didnt say anything. I dont have anymore words for this!

Hey Timmy,

Why don't you tell us how you reallly feel? razz Na, I feel ya. It's really sad sad

If I was interviewing them, I would have asked for the names of the charities. If this thing blows up in their faces as an obvious ploy for money, they can forget future support from Michael's fans. Hell, it appears that that is happening already based on the inclusion of KISS.

I'm TOO DISGUSTED to watch. neutral This woman used her son if you believe the biographies printed about the family. She was just as bad as Joe at it and then on top of it, you got some groveling so-called grown-ass men and women who don't know how to be a brother or sister trying to get him for money. They don't care about sense, dollar bills have always been their weakness since leaving Gary.
