To me that sounds like a Bearden's comment lol, the guy doesn't hide...

Remember he was THE ONLY ONE in This is it movie to actually tell Michael in his face that it'd be nice if he showed up at rehearsals more often so that they can get the sound right for the concerts ... wink

Wanted: Performers for Unauthorized Michael Jackson Tribute Concert

Posted Tue Aug 9, 2011 9:09am PDT by Daniel Kreps in Amplifier

Invitations are out for the unauthorized Michael ...te concert that Katherine Jackson is curating in the U.K., and the guest list is certainly worthy of the King of Pop: Kanye West, Jay-Z, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, and Bruno Mars have been invited to perform at Wales' Millennium Stadium on October 8th. However, since this tribute show is being conducted without the permission of the Jackson estate, it's highly unlikely any of these stars will perform. (It's also highly unlikely this concert will happen at all, given how strict the Jackson estate is about anyone -- even family members -- infringing on their trademark.)

TMZ got their hands on West's invitation to perform at Michael Forever, and it reveals that each artist is being asked to perform one or two of their favorite Jackson tracks "backed by seasoned musicians including members of Michael's band." It's unclear how much the artists will receive for their appearance, but "first class accommodations" would be provided. So far, Bieber, Mars, and Brown have all declined due to scheduling conflicts, while West and Aguilera are reportedly leaning toward performing. (What MJ song can Kanye possibly sing, we wonder? "Dirty Diana" in the style of 808s & Heartbreak, maybe?)

The one singer who signed up immediately for this tribute concert that probably won't happen: Cee Lo Green, a man who never encountered a spotlight he didn't want to stand in. Tickets for Michael Forever haven't gone on sale yet as promoters are first waiting to cement the lineup.

I'm listening to "The Michael Jackson Persevation Project" podcast and they have Flo Anthony on the show

The family is divided (surprise surprise) on this show. There's Jackie, Tito, LaToya, and Ms. Jackson on one side and the other is Randy and Jermaine

and Randy and Jermaine aren't even speaking! lol

Flo talked about when all 6 brothers were seriously trying to do a Jacksons reunion (this was around 1998-99 I believe) and Michael had a meeting at Neverland but Randy wouldn't come because Jermaine was there and Jackie wouldn't show up because he was on Randy's side so the whole thing was doomed lol

That's why they keep printing papers to the press saying they're united when they're divided. No way in hell will the Jacksons ever reunite because Randy & Jermaine were already at odds. I didn't even have to see the reality show to know that there were two dividing sides: Jackie, Tito & Marlon versus Jermaine. Let's not forget about the parents being separated for 30 years. And who knows how well Rebbie, La Toya and Janet are as sisters but they probably get along better than the brothers right now.

I heard it and was like "Fuck the concert! We never got the 'Humanity' album because these 2 fools couldn't put shit to the side?"

And that was the one time Michael actually agreed to it AND SIGNED THE CONTRACT! falloff

The Jackson brothers should just get together and play the dinner theaters and casinos to keep the name alive. And if they can't pull it together, just don't do it and should go on with their lives.

All this tribute stuff's ridiculous. That's what the Staples Center event was.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do a Beatles-like move and record some of Michael's unfinished stuff or re-record some things in the vaults.

That's what I wonder too. They don't even have to mess with Michael's unreleased stuff. They have a couple of outtakes from the 1976-84 albums. They could put those out. They have footage from the Destiny, Triumph, and Victory Tours. The Triumph tour concert at the LA Forum was recorded for home video release and some of the Victory Tour shows were filmed for a Laserdisc release that was later cancelled. They could release deluxe editions of The Jacksons albums or have CBS release the 1976-77 variety show on DVD

They're sitting on material that could bring in cash

not likely.

if it's anything involving mj, they would have to go thru the estate. copyrights, including name and likeness, survive death, and mj handed over control of his business interests to his executors. the brothers would have to get permission to use mj's image, which is all over the tour footage, and i think that's unlikely. the estate may want to use the footage to focus on bringing in revenues for *mj* to continue to clear his debts, not worry about whether his brothers have a job. besides, after all of their badmouthing of the estate, why would they do anything for the brothers?

also, they may not own the copyrights to the other stuff, the jackson albums for example. they could own the individual copyrights to songs, but the release of albums would be under the control of the record label, and i don't really think anyone is interested in the brothers.

Katherine Jackson Courting MASSIVE Stars for MJ Tribute Show

Michael Jackson's mom has personally reached out to some of the biggest music stars in the world in the hopes of getting them to perform at the big MJ tribute show in October ... but only ONE of them is a definite YES ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to the concert tell us ... Jay-Z, Kanye West, Cee Lo, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, Usher and Bruno Mars have each received an invitation (pictured above) from Katherine Jackson ... asking them to perform 1 or 2 of their favorite MJ songs in Cardiff, Wales on Oct. 8.

Katherine promises each star who signs on will be provided with "first class travel accommodations."

We're told Chris Brown, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars have each respectfully declined the invite due to scheduling conflicts ... however, Christina and Kanye are leaning towards "Yes."

As for the one person who's already signed on the dotted line -- sources tell us Cee Lo from Gnarls Barkley was quick to commit.

Tickets to the event have not gone on sale yet -- but promoters say they will become available once a complete line-up is booked.

Geez... how embarrasing!! Why announce an outdoor tribute show in fucking Cardiff (???) in almost fucking winter, at a time the Murray trial is supposed to be, with no big name artists under contract and a family divided?? Why don't these fools learn from their past mistakes and get their shit right before repeatedly making an ass out of themselves (and dragging Michael's name through the mud with them)!? Jesus. Can that be that hard??? Why rush this thing, when they still will miss the outdoor concert season?? They either should have gotten everything under wraps and announced it then or announce it now and do the show next summer, so they got plenty of time to sort out their shit! I don't really see how anyone is profiting from anything now!

Like I said before, Michael deserves a great tribute concert and celebration of his life and no, the LA memorial wasn't that, as back then everyone was mourning and shocked. And what the estate is concerned, fuck them... if the tribute is done right, who cares if they support it or not?

Right. So they really don't have a leg to stand on as far as the music goes and that goes for concert footage that could be translated to DVDs.

I've already been to a GREAT MJ Tribute anyway, it was on August 23rd 2009 in Montreal, the Tribute was called ''We Are The World''

We didn't have international stars and all, but those who were there were our local stars (in the province) and the love that was there, there is simply no word to describe it!

Gosh that evening was great! nod

And I'm going to the Cirque du Soleil twice, that's probably the only tribute I'll go to, and I'll be very happy with it!

[Edited 8/10/11 12:07pm]
