I was just listening to some of her songs recently, & while I actually do like a nice amount of her hits, her voice is absolutely, positively terrible [imo]!

I actually wish that someone would come along & re-sing quite a few of her hits....["Opposites Attract" though....HELL NO!]

Definitly not the worst... She is similiar in a Janet Jackson category. Paula is a great dancer and she is more talented in that area than vocals.

Yes, I would say so, however Britney ranks right up there too. People who don't sing and can't sing shouldn't be making albums and "perform" in concert.

I agree that lately she has been a real big letdown, but yes she can sing. She is just lazy Also, at her new tour it is said that she sings live for like 40% of the tour. (don't start, that's big for her

But before, she was incredible. Please don't tell me that because she most definitely is an artist and can could perform and was damn good at it. She could also sing too but was lazy and also wasn't very good at singing while dancing. She may not be a powerhouse singer but she can do it, yes she can

This is her while trying to sing while dancing. She can could dance gdaammmmit!

I think her problem now has more to do with her confidence than anything else. Now she looks lost on stage.

They succeed over Paula for one simple reason: live performance. All three sound better live than Paula ever did. I've heard stories that Paula never, ever sang one of her ballads live and all the way through. She did that Milli Vanilli shit and sang over a record with lots of help from background singers. Even her voice on the record sounds amateur and strained. She has somewhat of a tween singing voice which is just no good IMO.

It's all about what you look for in a vocalist. To me, Janet is a great singer. Yeah, she's weak and can't really belt but her tone is GORGEOUS and her pitch is great. Plus, her harmonies are flawless! Don't sleep on Janet's harmonies. Plus she can do what a lot of shit singers can't do: project emotion with her voice.

Rihanna certainly can't project any emotion, not that I can detect. Everything is sung in a bored monotone. Eh eh, what's my name, eh eh, what's my name. She sounds soooo fucking bored!

In spite of Madonna's vocal flaws (pitch has always been an issue), I think she's a great singer. She can project emotion, has personality when she sings, and she has a great vibrato. Plus...I just love the timbre of her voice. Listen to Madonna singing Burning Up and then listen to Britney's version. Neither of them are powerhouses but Madonna's version has so much more flava and attitude to it. She knows how to interpret a lyric (as bad as they may be).

Paula has a unique tone that nobody else has. She can be recognized instantly. That's definitely worked in her favor.
