Makes you think....why did white people march in the civil rights rallies? Record sales?

Not gonna even touch on the Gaga album cause the lady bores me but I was reading something about how their were alterior motives for some of the whites who championed civil rights. Can't remember what it was but---anyone else know what I am thinking of?

Why are you doing this to this thread. For the love of Gaga, please don't.

The fact that peopple think supporting Gay rights as a way of pandering is nothing more than homophobia.

Seriously.

SHUT THE FUCK UP.

If being gay got you album sales then where are all the gay artists in the top 40?

Like RuPaul? George Michael? Elton John? k d lang? Melissa Ethridge? That American Idol dude?

At some point, we do have to realize progress has been made and we can't keep making the same arguements. Kind of like when some complain about the lack of Oscar nominations without taking into account all the nominations and wins over the past ten years. lol

Ummm... you think 6 gay singers of varying success validates your argument...

It was said before earlier and I'll say it again. The one thing that is unquestionable about Gaga is her fierce dedication to the gay community and the fact that it is genuine.

Yeah that was quite farfetched... Comparing a upbeat love song, to an anthmen to loss from aids...

I can see plenty of comparisons between the two, but at a certain point people want Lady Gaga to be a fake.

I just listenned to the album twice in a row, and it's one of the best things I've heard in ages.

I absolutely love it. FInally, pop music done with some passion and correct amounts of camp.

It's absolutely wonderful and it's probably going to be my favorite album all year.

To be fair, none of those artists are in the top 40 anymore.

Not that I don't love "Jealous of My Boogie", but Ru hasn't had a real record contract in a while and his singles aren't that successful. The rest of them don't even chart inside the top 20 anymore, if they chart at all.

Plus, they're all old. You just named a buncha 50+ year old gay people and then that fool from AI.

Where the hell did my post go? Errr, okay--let me try and remember what I said. I think I was just pointing out that being gay is no longer the big career curse in music and that the artist mentioned have had success as out artist for quit a bit now.

As far as Gaga is concerned, she comes off like a poser, IMHO and I wouldn't be surprised if it's yet another attempt for her to come off as "hip". We just can't kid ourselves about this stuff folks. Once a poser, always a poser.

I don't listen to Gaga and get tired of her over-exposure, but hope that her working for gay rights is from a sincere place and not just for publicity.

I think it's usually plainly obvious when someone is sincere about something, so the fact that Gaga is even being questioned at all says a lot....IMO

Your right...and just like every aspect of her, there's a "calculated" feel to it. you can't deny that people feel this way about her.

She should have pulled a Sandra Bullock and dissappeared once she went into media overexposure. It's something that Natalie Portman is doing now (despite having released two movies in the past couple months has anyone noticed she has been doing zero publicity for them?). Instead, Gaga, like Beyonce before her, overexposed herself and has to deal with the public backlash she on her own created.

How is it painfully honest if you haven't heard the album urself?

No depth in his reviews of the songs and no deep analysis on what makes each song sound like a rip off or whatever. Just a hater who doesn't like Lady Gaga trying to sh*t on her new album days away from being released.

Right, which is exactly why it'll do extremely well and make all the haters even angrier. Don't they realize their negative energy is a help and not a hindrance?

And i cannot wait for the album to be a runaway success. Like you said, the more negative spin these haters give the album, the more attention it will get from none Gaga fans like myself, who then will listen to the album and realize that it is actually quite brilliant. I will definitely get a copy now.
