Oh hun, don't do it. Some of you are acting like 5 year old kids. We're grown ass people that can discuss whatever we want about Janet. Whether it be her lip syncing or her book. It doesn't matter. So I guess anyone in this thread that's vocal about something they dislike is a hater or fair weather fan? GTFOH with that BS. So again, like I said she's not a "hater" or whatever you nut jobs call folks that disagree with whatever Janet does. Deal with it and move the hell on with your life.

^^Dang, Midi, what happened bro? My initial comments were that I was sick of seeing all the negativity in the thread. Personally, I don't think trueiopian is a hater, as I've told her, though I really don't give a crap one way or the other. I don't know if she's your girl or what, but I vocalized my opinions, she vocalized hers and that was that. I'm happily going to see Janet in March, and I'm going to have a good time whether she's singing, lip-synching, dancing, or whatever. I've personally seen you jump down people's throats in other threads who've spoken the slightest bit of negativity about Janet. Sometimes I've chimed in, and sometimes I haven't. You are right, though, we are all grown, and if we can't all just agree to disagree then what's left?

PS, who are u callin' a nutjob...?

I'm talking about this Evvy chick that's trying to come for me, lol. Especially, Timmy of all people, who's always nice. She needs to go have a seat somewhere lol Anyway, I don't have a problem with Janet's lip syncing. I don't think anyone cares for that since we know she's been doing it forever. There are just some things that can improve. That still doesn't change the fact that I love Janet and always will. I don't see any negativity. The whole point of this thread is to discuss what we like, dislike and etc. So I don't see the problem. Oh and I only drag people that try to discredit Janet. I don't care if they comment on things they see that she's done and disagree with it.

Janet Jackson Thrills Jakarta — From a Distance
Ade Mardiyati | February 10, 2011

For lovers of her hard-pumping R&B, Janet Jackson’s live concert Wednesday night in Jakarta was a massive hit. Outside the Jakarta Convention Center venue for the “Janet’s Number Ones: Up Close and Personal” concert, ticket scalpers were much in evidence, hoping to earn a premium from the eager Jackson-bound crowd.

I admit up front, I am not a fan. I just know some of her songs, mainlyfrom my younger years. But I have to admit that the one and half hour-long concert got thousands in the audience, including me, “hypnotized” as we stepped back in time with her old hits — her Number Ones.

Opening the concert was a video clip of “All Nite, (Don’t Stop)” playing on a large screen dedicated to the “incredible people of Jakarta.” Fans got appropriately hysterical as she appeared on a Jakarta stage for the first time, seductively dressed in a catwoman-like costume and short haircut.

The first part of the show was filled with Jackson’s fast tracks, including “Miss You Much,” a big hit single from 1989. Jackson seemed to know exactly what her fans wanted other than her songs: the dance moves. The choreographry was spectacular with the dancers dressed in signature Janet’s Army uniforms. Jackson, who will turn 45 this year, may not have quite the looks she once had, but Michael’s younger sister appeared to have superb stamina all the way to the end.

After intermission, the singer reappeared on stage in a more feminine dress for slow numbers. The audience, mostly 30-something and middle to upper class, seemed transported by tracks such as “Come Back To Me” and “Again.”

Although the event organizer had promised an “intimate” concert, Jackson’s show was hardly a living room performance and the distance from the performer — phsyically and emotionally — was palpable. Communication with the audience mainly consisted of Jackson shouting, “Jakarta!” and “I love you, Jakarta!” Some fans walked away feeling she was going through the motions for her Asian fans but was not really into it. I expected her to say something personal about Michael, especially when the screen showed flashes from her late brother’s videos and photos. She didn't.

One of her most anticipated songs, “That’s the Way Love Goes,” highlighted the third segment of the concert. Wearing a costume that reminded me of Michael’s style, Jackson paused a bit as she saw that the audience even in this far-away outpost of pop culture knew the song so well that she gave them a chance to sing it out loud without her.

The evening closed with more uptempo pop and hard-charging dance steps.

Then it was over. Jackson and her crew simply walked off the the stage as the lights went out. The audience was silent, wondering whether she would return. After a few minutes, some members of audience began stomping and shouting for more “Janet!” The living legend did as asked and expected, closing the show in style with and leaving fans wanting more.

And that’s the way love goes.

As much as I admire all of the actresses in For Colored Girls, Janet was the best in that movie. I had not seen it until last week, and she OWNED that part, in its totality. And it was also cool to hear her speak in such a deep vocal register (which I had never heard her do before). No one could have played Jo/Red better. headbang

This Dateline special is so sad. I don't mean to sound blunt or anything, but I really get sick of hearing this stuff about Michael's death when Janet or any of the Jackson family members are around. It's just sickening and unnecessary really. No one wants to experience the death of any family member or bear with it strongly. It was a painful loss for everyone, but something has gotta give with these journalists and the media. I just wish that they could move on from it and let MJ rest, even though it is painful for mostly everyone (including myself).

i agree with what your saying but at the same time... i want to see how janet is doing... and how she is coping.... i care about her... and I do hope eventually they will stop talking about MJ's death... but its only been less than 2 years.... its so painful...

IM ordering her book right now... its on amazon for like 13 dollars

I enjoyed the interview. Janet seems a bit more open now but I didn't like how the interview was mostly about MJ. It was totally unnecessary and Janet already shared her piece in the last interview. Anyway, can't wait to get the book.
