Gotta rent this one since I didn't make it to the theater to see it. She certainly has the "ice queen" look down in this pic! lol

I know Tyler gets so much slack here. But I really feel this movie should have been nominated for an Oscar or Golden Globe Award. It was just as good as any movie released last year. Especially the performances everyone gave a top notch Performance.

I read the play for a class (muffled) years ago...and it stuck with me all these years. I'm looking forward to finally seeing a film version of it... It will be interesting to see the similarities and differences to the orginal play.

TBH, I don't expect her energy to go up from here. Janet has been performing like this for a few years now. I'm just glad to see that there are exciting parts of the show like "Scream" and "Pleasure Principle" when she walks through the audience.

That's true, for the most part. And those few exciting moments are what I'm looking forward to. But still... even Michael had more energy at the age of 50 when doing rehearsals for This Is It.

I agree that Michael's rehearsal performances during TII were more exciting that any concert footage from Janet's Number Ones tour. In fact, the TII footage was more exciting than any recent performances of Janet that she has performed live even before this concert.

It was "exciting" because there were other things distracting his lack of dancing ability in his later years.

Besides, you can't get the full effect by watching a Youtube video. When you're there in that atmosphere, the energy level is that much higher.

That's true but it's mostly depends on the audience. If the audience is bananas you won't even tell that the bitch is just pacing the stage and snapping her fingers. lol

I don't remember a single number where Michael was "stiff". In the "Drill" segment where he was teaching the other dancers the choreography, he was dancing better than the dancers 30 years younger. Go back and look. Even dancing at 70% on some numbers during the rehearsals, he still had as much energy or more than the recent performances of Janet that I have witnessed and I am not only speaking of her concert clips. I am speaking of her recent performances before and after Michael's murder.

Your opinion is irrelevant. You've made it clear that you don't like her so move along lol

and MJ was stiff in TII and it was sad to watch. Now I'm not trying to say Janet is dancing with a lot of energy but she's def. moving way better than MJ was in his later years.

Sadly everyone will always compare these siblings in performance - but these two reference points are unfair. You can't reference TII and compare it to Janet's current shows - for the fact that Michael was still in rehearsal mode and finding his feet in the footage show (and still 3 weeks off from opening night).

I think if people are expecting a RN/janet/VR style tour and performance then they need to check their expectation at the door. We have to let our artists grow and age with grace without holding them to a "do it like you did 20 years ago" mentality.

LOL! You're talking as if Janet's 85 years old.

By the way, there's no excuse for Janet to be walking around, lipping and using the same performance concepts of the past 2 years. She's basically ripping her fans off by doing that. If she's not gonna dance then she might as well start singing live for a change or actually interact with the audience aside from the usual waves and "Let me hear you!" when her mic is turned on between songs.

I was just responding to someone that was comparing the two. lol

No one's expecting that type of tour or energy. We just want to see Janet doing something other then pacing the stage and doing things we've seen 489579475 times before lol But it's whatever.

The Piers Morgan show should be interesting. Chances all he'll ask her more about Michael than herself because he's British.

The tour is looking really good. I hope she switches the setlist when she goes to the states and europe.

I'm not feeling the lip synching at all from the clips I've seen, especially when she's not dancing much and just walking back and forth. I think I will pass on this concert, but I do say those outfits are bad ass! Janet has a body to die for.
