Because some are already writing Elton's death certificate. Ain't like he's 100.

Actually, I found out that they tried to adopt from the Ukraine, but were denied cause the Ukraine doesn't let people adopt who are that old!

63 is too old to have a child.

Because the org hates gay Dads, or Dads they even SUSpect are gay: http://prince.org/msg/8/347174

Actually, that'ts untrue. I'm the first person to post something critical here, and I actually have gay fathers myself.

APPLICATION DENIED!

I can just picture old ass Elton breaking out the magnifying specs to read those caps then asking "what does denied mean?"

It's only ageism when you're UNDER 60 and seeking employment. lol

In this case it's just an old fart tryna compete with Ricky Martin and outdo Madonna.

I'm not convinced he's only 63. He may be 77...and arthritic... which means he shouldn't be holding no newborn.

A bit off topic but....

I wanna know why drugs never did shit to Drew Barrymore. She still looks 25! And why has Robert Downey bounced back so quickly. His face is a bit tore up but his body is lookin' alright.

Watch both these ex-druggies knock out babies naturally like it's nothing.

Because with Elton it became a bigger issue. He was also an alcoholic and bulimic. I think why Drew and Robert were able to maintain their looks and mind process was because they DID have people looking out for them. Not saying Elton didn't but it took until the death of Ryan White for Elton to finally take stock on his life. Now had he still been on drugs and he was gonna have a child, I'd been more upset by that then now.

Did Elton ever do heroin? That's the only drug I can think of that would age you overnight. Alchohol does more damage to internal organs. Heroin and all forms of crack are about to make you look a hot mess from the outside; skin, hair, teeth etc.

This is why Bobby & Whitney and Lindsay all look so frightful even though they are supposed to be "clean" and why Robert's face is haggish looking.

LMMFBAO @ how this thread became an "age" thing. How many people are raised (JUST FINE!) by their grandparents? How many people on the org even? Nobody questions if Alicia Keys will be a good Mom, but as soon as a celebrity dude (who might be gay or have some wrinkles) becomes a Dad, this shit devolves into an episode of Maury. Can't they just get a mf'in pound?

As a single, black, gay Dad myself, I'd like to know, when did the org become the authority on good parenting?

And Timmy84, you are on point. wink

and phooey!!!! Elton is an old queen who got no bidness raising new borns reliant on mother's milk.

Nobody said doody about Ricky Martin because he is young enough, healthy enough, and vigorous enough to parent newbornds and raise them up. He will not be a burden on his kids when they turn 7. Raising children is a JOB and it's not to be taken lightly.

I think you misunderstand the realities of old age.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I'm grossed out by the narcissism of Elton John having a child at age 63. Just cause you can doesn't mean you should. And of course they just had to have their own genetic spawn, they couldn't adopt. Terrible people, really. This is really a perfect example of children as bourgoise accoutremont.

I actually have gay foster parents, too. So my criticism is certainly not about that.

There's nothing wrong with adopting but there's nothing like having an extension of yourself to carry on after you're dead and gone.

Plus, he's at the perfect age to have a child. By the time the child gets in those late teens and early 20s (the age that they give the parents the most hell), Elton will be older and will be spaced out on so much meds, he won't notice the shit. Plus, he's got a younger lover that would have to deal with those rebellious years instead of him. Hell, even call the little devil's mama to come over and straighten his ass out if you need to. lol

You have triflin "kids" who have their parents raising their children. So, Sir John being a father for the first time . . . shrug Congrats to he and his partner on the birth of their baby boy.

How do you all know Elton has not always wanted a child and just now feels comfortable enough having one. He is sober,as far as we know, also married, and also given his wealth I doubt "loot" will be a problem for counseling. As a gay man living in South MS I have to say we dont have the luxury of doing everything in the same traditional order as heterosexuals. Hatred puts a division in ones life that seperates true want and trying to fit ino the mainstream. I think he probably just found the courage to be a gay parent. Good job Elton and I hope you and this child have many years together.

I guess if ELTON had a child earlier in life and abandoned it cause he really wasnt mature enough then, that would be cool with everyone? I mean look at some past STARS, John Lennon, yeah mr. peace and love was the worst father possible the first time around, he had Julian very early on in the midst of BeatleMania and didnt even acknowledge the child and then support it financially. There are too many kids now just being born because "baby daddy" didnt buy condoms that night, or they both got "tipsy" and fucked and now they have a kid at 20 years old and no job, but i guess thats better than the way Elton is doing it according to the org.

Also the fact of his age his nothing to do with it, shit he could live to be 100 and the child would have him till they were in there late 30's, shit my dad died at 64 and i was 26 at the time, theres no set age you will die, i mean look at Teena Marie,. dead at 54, Laura Branigan died in her sleep at 47, etc....theres no RIGHT AGE its about things like can you actually SUPPORT a child, are U actually MATURE enough to have a child or are U like THE DREAM who has a child with every woman he looks at. Make up your mind org.

But to me, Elton is someone that came through some BIG SHIT, dealt with numerous addictions has been clean since 1988-89, he also is one of the most charitable people on fucking earth, so maybe that shit will translate to the child, whether through genes or just knowing him some what or studying about their father. To me he is a prime candidate, and i feel that earlier in life he didnt feel he could have one, now he can, PROPS for being honest and thinking ahead.

It's not a matter of how comfortable HE feels, or about whether HE fufulls HIS needs or aspirations for HIS life. It's about what the child needs. There's a real likely chance that he will die before his kid even hits 20. Having children past a certain age is just messed up. It's not in the best interest of children to give newborns to the elderly.
