I disagree. That was my point, that songs recorded 30 years ago or 20 years ago or 10 years ago sound like Mike. Hold My Hand sounds like Mike. This Is It sounds like Mike. This does NOT.

2000 Watts is the only exception, but Mike's trademarks are clearly there, his way of pronouncing words and such. That's all absent from this track.

You also have to take into account his performance on the remake of Wanna Be Startin Somethin' remix with AKON. There are parts of that that made me think Michael was having difficulty singing and was mumbling and stumbling on words.

The truth will come out eventually. I'm happy to give the benefit of the doubt til then.

Fair enough, nothing wrong with waiting. I'd love to be proven wrong and for this to actually be MJ vocals.

Please, I bet most of those mofo's posting at TMZ haven't listened to MJ in ages lol. I don't care what they think. They wouldn't be able to tell the difference either way.

Yeah they wouldn't know. Most of them who had stopped listening to MJ are more like "this is hot". lol confused

The thing is you actually believe them? confused Who aside from Katherine (basically Joe's echo), his kids (listens to whatever Katherine or Joe say) and Latoya (Don't believe anything that comes out of her mouth) are saying this isn't him?

Or maybe, it's the fact that MJ's vocals aren't up to par to his Pre-00's years? hmmm

I hope you understand this song is a demo. It's NOT the master cut. Hence why his voice sounds a bit sketchy and different at parts.

[Edited 11/7/10 22:47pm]

As I said, listen to his other demo's They sound nothing like this. You can still tell it was MJ. "In The Back" is a lot less polished than "Breaking News" yet I knew right away it was MJ when I listened to the song.

The thing is that I'm not referring to the quality of the song or the vocals.

MJ's vocals were great on "Invincible" in 2001 so I don't know what you're talking about. They were great on "Hold My Hand" and a few remixes he did for "Thriller 25" in 2007. His voice was great when he sang in "This Is It" and that was in 2009, so i'm not buying that. His voice was as good as ever up until the day he died. Deeper, but just as great.

But it's not the quality of the vocals i'm bothered by, it's the fact that it JUST DOES NOT sound like Michael Jackson. Period.

[Edited 11/7/10 22:56pm]

Question? Do you have any recent tracks of MJ over the last 10 years where he has to sing fast. Slow songs dont count.

MJ at 50 cant sing Blame it on the Boogie like he did before....FACE THE FACTS

I listened to it again....

I hear Mike in some background vocals and at the very end for some reason...

Maybe because this song is missing some of Michael's layered polished vocals...? That use to take him ages to do. He's singing but it's like someone else is singing with him.

I'm just trying to make sense in all of this.

Good night. I'm going to sleep.

MJ's wanna be starting something with Akon is a perfect example. Mike was very confident on slower to mid temo tracks but when he had to speed his voice up, he knew it wasnt his 1980 Triumph voice anymore. Nothing wrong with that cause we all age. MJ was more suited for Butterflies style songs which his voice can slow down which he was at his best when he was older.

A guy on Maxjax posted the snippet to Youtube since everyone was bummed about this Breaking News clip. It sounds like an unreleased song called "Do You Know" and demo vocals of "Another Day".

We owe him, that first song sounds fire!

the song is so fucking stupid too, it's like an imitation new jack swing/bobby brown/justin timberlake song with the man's name being repeated in an inescable way undoubtedly to draw maximum attention, the whole goddamn thing is a mess, they should be skewered by the record buying public and fans for even trying to do some shit like this.

It's poorly produced too to me. I think why I'm doubting it to be him besides from the voice not being recognizable (those who heard him sing on "This Is It" compare it to this, it sounds like two different folks to me shrug ) is never in his history has he ever have to address himself in a song. I guess that's why some of us are kinda like "huh?" It sounds out of character for him to do. I just read some of the news, apparently there's a battle over this song either being his or not. I'm going to go on Teddy's Twitter to see if he's saying anything new.

Yeah, mike has never bragged like that, never, just wasn't his style to do something so over the top. Did he have ego? Of course but he would just never do something so classless, the lyrics are stupid too, Mike, whatever you think of his lyrics, put great thought into them. The singer on this shit seems to try to half whisper too, as if they are self-conscious about being found out. THis is, well, like I said, fucking funny.

Yes! The difference is astounding isn't it? I'm guessing that little snippet was a recent demo MJ was working on and you can tell the difference between that and "Breaking News" right away. That's the MJ I know and I love. Love that voice. I knew that other "thing" was a big fake.

That first part is from a demo called "Do You Know Where Your Children Are." I'd love to know the exact year that clip was recorded. And it sounds like he sampled the drum beat from a song that had sampled the J5: "OPP" by Naughty By Nature. That's kinda funny. lol

Astounding is right Cinnamon! biggrin

As for "Breaking News" - well we can officially label it a dud.

How do I know? Because Roger Friedman LOVES IT. Check out his

lame-o review:

Here’s the new Michael Jackson single, “Breaking News,” written by Michael Jackson (lyrics only), Eddie Cascio andJames Porte (aka Bobby Ewing). Yes, it’s Michael singing about himself. It’s a song they wrote in the Cascio home studio together in August 2007. Eddie’s brother, Frank, was Michael’s long time friend, confidante, and protege. It was his work with Bobby Ewing that brought Michael into the studio.

“Who is that boogeyman you’re thinking of?”– the song is tailored for Michael, and addresses all the gossip that was leveled at him, the accusations, etc.

“Why is it strange that I would fall in love?” Michael sings. Is he referring to Lisa Marie Presley, Debbie Rowe, or someone else? Anyway, the production by Teddy Riley, is terrific, giving Michael a modern sound and horns. And, yes, that’s him singing. There is only one Michael Jackson.

Anyway moving on....

Thanks to whoever leaked "Do You Know Where Your Children Are" and

"Another Day" (Remastered with Lenny's guitar changes to it.)

THIS made my night and I know..I am not alone with that thought.

This one goes out to you bboy....m&m's really are good! wink
